The Midweek Team News

Dusan Tadic is back for Southampton after returning to full training. Gylfi Sigurdsson is back in the frame for Swansea, Kevin Mirallas “has a chance” of making Everton’s home clash with stoke, Gabby Agbonlahor is available for Villa after the FA overturn his three-match suspension, whilst Chris Smalling could recover in time for United’s home encounter with Newcastle.

Tomas Rosicky, Yaya Sanogo and David Ospina are available for Arsenal’s home encounter with QPR. Laurent Koscielny “maybe has a chance” for Sunday’s trip to Upton Park, whilst Arsene Wenger has confirmed Aaron Ramsey may be on course to return against Southampton on New Year’s Day.

QPR’s left-back Yun Suk-Young is set to be sidelined “for a while” with the ankle injury that forced him off in last week’s home win over West Brom.

Gabby Agbonlahor is available for Villa’s trip to Swansea after the FA rescinded the three-match ban dished out for his dismissal against United last weekend. Paul Lambert also welcomes back Alan Hutton and Tom Cleverly, after both served one-match suspensions at home to the Red Devils, and is hopeful that Joe Cole will recover from a hamstring injury.

Sean Dyche has refused to rule out a return for Sam Vokes, after the forward continued his recovery from long-term injury with another 90-minute run-out for the reserves earlier in the week. Michael Duff is set to miss out once again for the Clarets.

Curtis Davies remains a doubt for Hull’s trip to Wearside due to a calf complaint. Fellow defender Alex Bruce is available after being forced off last weekend, though manager Steve Bruce has revealed Paul McShane is unlikely to feature unless he issues an apology on the back of recent off-field antics. The Tigers boss has recalled Thomas Ince and Maynor Figueroa from loan spells to deal with a lack of first-team options.

Manuel Pellegrini ruled out Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko until “the second part of January” during yesterday’s press briefing. The City boss also revealed the Vincent Kompany and Stevan Jovetic will “maybe” be back for Sunday’s match with Burnley – the latter has returned to training as he steps up his recovery from injury.

Chris Smalling has a chance of returning for United’s clash with Newcastle. Louis van Gaal revealed the rest of his injured players, including Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, won’t recover in time for Friday.

Southampton roll up to Palace without suspended skipper Jose Fonte, though both Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama are available after serving one-match bans last time out. Dusan Tadic has returned to full training after missing the 3-0 win over Everton due to injury.

Anthony Reveillere is ruled out for up to four weeks with a muscle injury for Sunderland, though Billy Jones and Emmanuele Giaccherini are back in contention.

Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful that midfielder Ryan Mason can recover from the knock that forced him off before the break during last weekend’s win over Burnley.

Graham Dorrans (calf) and Boaz Myhill (illness) are expected to recover for the Baggies home clash against City, though Victor Anichebe again remains doubtful due to an ongoing groin complaint.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jefferson Montero and Leon Britton are all back in full training and available for Swansea after missing last week’s win at Hull with minor injuries.

Kevin Mirallas and James McCarthy both “have a chance” of making Everton’s home clash with Stoke, Roberto Martinez has confirmed. Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert are set to miss to miss the Toffees’ next two matches over Friday and Sunday, though Darron Gibson may yet be in contention.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of Friday morning’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Random question - Out of Vergini & Wes Brown does anyone know if either or both go up for set pieces? Not considering O'Shea as on 4 yellows.

O'Shea only has to survive two games without a YC before the ban limit goes up to 10 YCs. O'Shea is also absolutely nailed on as the captain of the club and 0.1 cheaper than Vergini. I'm thinking of bringing in O'Shea ahead of Vergini/Brown.

Is this a mirage from Giroud or the start to a haul to goals.

Feel am gonna go Rooney to Giroud and use the funds next gw.

tell hell with the United fixture, Rooney may well not even assist.

Skrtel for goal threat and general nailed on-ness. I'd need someone for under £6m this week if i don't get Terry, hence no Zaba. Could go that way next week after shipping Baines but i generally think Mangala should play

Just not worth selling. One penalty and an assist and he will be considered "essential" again. Also, nailed on, so compared to rotational city defenders and poor-fixture Chyelsea, he doesn't seem to be damaging my team too badly

debuchy will play, sanchez has to play imo. Arsenal can't afford to rest players when they sit 7th with a very winable game. Wenger will be chastised if they get anything less than a win

    Is Saylor nailed on?

Looking at a cheap replacement for Moore, and don't want to spend anymore than 4.0 as my three defenders of choice are Baines, Zaba and Terry (Hutton as my other back up).

    Gents,

Help me decide the correct issues to address here please...

    Forster

    Baines Clyne Chambers (Duff Moore)

    Yaya Hazard Oscar Eriksen

    Rooney Austin Bony

I'm really tempted with Rooney > Giroud or Oscar to Cazorla

But think I maybe should look at addressing my subs bench to ensure I have 11 players with high rotation potential.

    Thoughts ?

Who is more nailed on among KoloToure and Sakho(liv)?

Who is the better to have for the next 4-6 gws? Hutton or him?

Giroud or Benteke? Granted Giroud has a solid home banker on Friday but Benteke has a great run of games with little competition for his position?

Chasing manager of the month prize in ML

Behind by 7 points. Best move lads? Willing to take a punt!

    Hart
    Baines Azpi Wisdom (Dummett)
    Haz* Siggy* Downing Sanchez*
    Costa* Austin * Kane

Rival has same players marked with *. He also has RVP, Fab and double Swansea defence. Presume he will (c) RVP or Haz

Best option? Giroud ? Sterling ? silva?

Hazard is a doubt for the clash i believe…
Sterling looks like a good differential with good games coming up…Downing will have a tough match…Siggy marker just turned blue…In place of Sanchez you could get in Silva or Yaya…and upgrade Downing to Erikson...

Damn I just brought Haz in. I am thinking of getting Silva but wondering if City will keep the same system once Jovetic is back? (current false nine system).

Even when the strikers are back…Silva in mid-field is the best option from Man City…at 2m price difference from Yaya i would choose Silva anyday…and hes going to be making assists or scoring regularly….so i see no issues in bringing him in…i would too, but i dont want to lose Sanchez or Fab…

Fab has become a season keeper for me…Hazard is more expensive while i expect that they will be near equal on points by the end of the season…or Fab will be ahead…the only issue is that Fab might be getting another rest in the coming 3-4 GWs, as will most players…

          Rotations are among us!

    DDG
    Jags Clichy Azpi Clyne
    Sanchez Fab Lampard
    Costa Austin Welbeck

    Krul Downing Siggy Duff

    0.1 ITB 1FT

Am already getting rid of clyne next week…Do i also:

    A) Save FT for next week
    B) Downgrade Jagielka this GW and invest in a better forward(Welbeck --> ?,-4 hit).
    C) Downgrade Jagielka and upgrade to a better Midfielder next week(Siggy/Downing/Lampard -->?)
    D) Transfer Krul/Duff to save against rotation?

Who would you drop to the bench out of this 4-4-3 of players. All have good fixtures or form. My bench is currently McCarthy, Dummett, Downing.

    Baines Azpi Clichy Alderweireld
    Silva Hazard Sanchez Eriksen
    Bony Giroud Austin
