Versus – Eriksen, Cazorla and Oscar

With winter Wildcards in play, we turn our focus on three in-form midfielders in our second members article of the week. Christian Eriksen, Santi Cazorla and Oscar were all amongst the goals in Gameweek 22 and are more or less identically priced in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) – the former pair set you back 8.2, whilst the Chelsea man is slightly more expensive at 8.3.

With Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard looking nailed on for most Fantasy managers, the trio are vying for a spot as the third pricey midfielder in many plans right now. As more look to restructure their sides ahead of the Gameweek 23 deadline in ten days’ time, we assess their recent matches and delve into the data over their last six appearances.

    Morning all.

Struggling with the remaining 3 mids for my WC team. Whatcha reckon?

19.9m to spend. Currently only have Downing from the below (who I got for 6.0m).

    A) ADM, Puncheon & Boyd
    B) Santi, Chadli & Boyd
    C) Santi, Puncheon & Downing/AJ

    Panti, Krul
    Terry, Clyne, Bellerin, PVA, Baird
    Sanchez, Hazard, xxx, xxx, xxx
    Aguero, Costa, Kane

The thing with Downing is that whilst he is in form and I got him cheap, WHU have really horrible fixtures. JWP will be a rotation risk in a few weeks once the injured players come back imo

Downing seems fixture proof. His overall points are pretty much the same as Fab. At 6 mil!
As for JWP, possible Boyd replacement at 4.8 5th mid.

I am literally in the same boat as you with an almost identical WC team. Downing currently in with SV of 6.2 but fixtures are upsetting me. Puncheon, Boyd and Moses are in thoughts.

ADM, Cazorla or Oscar potential for the 3rd mid after haz/sanch but the latter gives ME 3 chelsea attack which in unsure on.

ADM came back into thoughts last night just for additional coverage and great next fixture.

RMWCT : template as can be, with a couple of differentials

    Panti Hamer
    Terry Clyne Jones Wollscheid Baird
    Sanchez Haz Cazorla Puncheon JWP
    Aguero Costa Kane

Have spent more than I'd like for Wolly and JWP on bench to cover GW27 if chelsea get through Capital One cup. I'll probably end up using the next 3-4 transfers putting out the fires of Punch, Caz and Baird losing their spot in the coming weeks, so best be prepared for the GW27 blank right away

Interesting one on Cazorla/Costa v Fab/Giroud - the prediction sites have Fab/Giroud ahead on points - and this is 1.5 cheaper. But I'm not sure I agree.

I'd still lean towards A - I think a Chelsea defender is a must. Maybe go Azpi/Baird instead of Terry/Wisdom to give you some spare funds, in case you want to shoehorn Costa in later with a Fab downgrade.

Is it worth going light in defence to get this front 7? They rotate pretty well and it leaves the option of getting a 3rd CHE player of choice next week (Oscar, Fabs or a defender) after MCY this week.

    Panti, Krul
    Clyne, Bellerin, PVA, Dummett, Baird
    Sanchez, Hazard, ADM, Santi, Boyd
    Aguero, Costa, Kane

    Can look to bring in

      LEI, QPR, SWA
      WBA, sun, cpl
      AVL, EVE, wba

Madness to plan a 4 pointer the week after playing a WC?

I'm looking at starting with ADM, Santi & Rooney/Falcao/RVP and then doing:

    ADM/Santi & Rooney/Falcao/RVP -> Oscar & Aguero (4 points) the following week.

With MUN and ARS having plum fixtures this week and MCY/CHE having tough ones, I think it could be worth a planned 4 pointer. Risky though.

Yeah, probably right. I am tempted to wait a week on Aguero though. I can see United scoring a fair few at home to LEI whereas I expect CHE to keep it fairly right at the bridge.

Aguero is also just coming back from injury.

Perhaps just do that 1 next week and keep hold of ADM/Santi.

Puncheon in a lot of teams I can see. But is he really that good FPL prospect? I mean, before Pardew came in he had hardly any attacking returns. As I understand he is now moved into a role where he gets more chances but how long will that last with Chamakh, Jedinak and Bolasie and others returning? Palace has a lot of attacking players to choose from who I am afraid can a affect his results.

So, what about Moses instead? Facing QPR, involved in a lot of Stoke's goals pre injury and the stats are just as good as Puncheon's. The bookies offers lower odds on him to score as well.

Arsenal emerged the real winners this window.

Sanchez was better than Suarez at Barcelona for 40-45M less
Suarez was amazing at Liverpool and was sold.

Liverpool should of kept Suarez unless they got Sanchez or a replacement.

Liverpool should swap Suarez and Sanchez 😉

Sanchez didn't want to live in Liverpool, or his wife didn't according to reports. I think getting Pedro or shopping that winning and putting in a bid for Lazazette after the Remy deal fell through would of been smart.

      long term: Fabregas Colo
      this GW: ADM Bellerin

ADM is a class act but he needs to show fpl form, not sure bellerin is nailed on

I don't understand what's going on at Utd at the minute, if you pay £60m for a player you play them in their best position and build the team around them, not try and force them into an unnatural position at wing back, or part of a midfield three.

On WC so makes sense to go with ADM this week, and FT Fabregas in next week, cheers

Think I can survive with this defence for a while? No Chelsea defenders...

    Pantilimon
    Clyne / Wisdom / Baird / Wollscheid/Bellerin / PvA/Naughton

    Doing Wollscheid>Azpilicueta and Cazorla>Chadli on GW26

Chelsea's fixtures are City, Everton and Villa. I can see only 0-2 cleansheets there.
