We cast an eye over the new injuries sustained during the weekend’s ten fixtures this evening. Problems mount for Palace up front, Newcastle’s concerns continue, whilst United’s misfiring Dutchman is set for ankle scans after Saturday’s loss at Swansea.

Aston Villa
Kieran Richardson was forced off during the first half of Saturday’s home loss to Stoke due to injury.

Crystal Palace
Fraizer Campbell was withdrawn during the Eagles’ home loss to Arsenal after picking up a hamstring problem. Marouane Chamakh failed to feature against his former club due to a similar complaint.

Liverpool
Mamadou Sakho missed today’s clash with Southampton due to a hip problem, the Reds’ official twitter feed has confirmed.

Man United
The Red Devils are sweating over the fitness of Robin van Persie after the Dutchman left the Liberty Stadium on crutches after sustaining an ankle injury Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea. United are expected to know results of scans on the Dutchman by some point tomorrow.

Newcastle
Daryl Janmaat limped off with a groin problem during the Magpies’ 5-0 hammering at the Etihad on Saturday evening. Manager John Carver confirmed:

“He has got a tight groin. I don’t think he’s too serious at the moment, but it is tight and we took him off as a precaution.”

QPR
Niko Krancjar limped out of the R’s narrow loss at Hull on Saturday and was replaced by Armand Traore on 78 minutes.

Southampton
Steven Davis was replaced at the break during the Saints’ home encounter against Liverpool after picking up a knock.

Sunderland
Billy Jones missed the Black Cats’ goalless draw with West Brom due to injury.

Stoke
Erik Pieters was replaced with five minutes remaining of the weekend win at Villa due to injury.

West Ham
Carlton Cole was forced off due to injury during the Hammers’ draw at Spurs this afternoon.

          Well he was bought in as the club's main LB so Ward can return to his normal position (RB). Imagine if he got dropped after one poor game, would be a big confidence killer and managers often stick with new signings.

    Anyone here gone for a 3-5-2?

    I'm happy with Aguero and Kane as my strikers, but nobody particularly tempts me for the third spot. With Kane being so cheap, I think a 3-5-2 could work out nicely. I've chucked in Barnes as my cheapo striker fodder (only £4.4m and hopefully won't get banned for the Matic challenge...).

    We'll see how it works out.

      I've been going 3-5-2 since my WC with Ings as my 3rd striker and he's saved me a couple of times.

      Not a bad way to go bud I'd prefer to have Sturridge/Giroud/Costa if I had the option.

          Just so you know, this is his first season doing FPL, he never watches any games, and has made just 1, yes ONE, transfer in the last 8 weeks.

            Hahahaha that is brilliant. Fella in work signed up to the work league last year and had Sturridge captain. Knows nothing about football and never looked at his team. At gw8 he was 800 overall haha it naturally went on a slippery slope from then on
