With a single goal in his last six league appearances, Alexis Sanchez’s debut season in the Premier League seems in danger of grinding to a halt. After serving up 12 strikes and seven assists in the opening 21 Gameweeks, the Chilean’s displays made him a must-have for Fantasy managers but, in spite of Arsenal’s late surge up the table, his recent output has been minimal.

There’s no disputing the fact that Sanchez’ downturn has coincided with the return to action of Mesut Ozil. The German has started each of the last seven Gameweeks and managed two goals and five assists over that period, whilst Olivier Giroud has developed a source of consistency which has harvested six strikes and a trio of assists in his previous eight outings.

Despite his price of 11.4 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, Sanchez is still the third most popular midfielder – only Eden Hazard and Raheem Sterling currently sit in more sides. With some of his 30% ownership starting to scour the market for alternatives, we delve into the data to asses his displays over the two time frames in order to ascertain just what has gone wrong.

            I agree. That was a 1-off. 4/19 total goals is ~21% of Villa's output this season. Not even tempted by him for the double tbh. Swansea will likely shut them out this wknd.

            The only Kun transfer/replacement I would consider is Kun ➡ Costa
            assuming you already own Kane+Gru.

            Most likely use it for GW34, so with Guzan having a blank in GW33 I'd have no keeper if Foster is back (very possible).

            The fact Myhill has a decent fixture in the GW31 DGW makes me think Guzan is not worth using a transfer on.

            FPL has been tough. Slipped down the rankings in the last few weeks. Hope the dgws help me claw back some ground.

              Can't complain. Yeah, FPL has been a mare since Jan WC. Can't see myself clawing anything back.

              At least I had a good run in the LAWR FA cup. Made the last 8 with Sporting and Berbilly. Pity the competition was rigged. Ginkapo just not m̶o̶n̶k̶e̶y̶ enough to run a competition of such magnitude without Doos.

                  Sakho has most SiB in last 4(fwds.)
                  Siggy has most goal attempts in last 4(mids.)
                  Sanchez most SiB last 4(being sold cause he didn't score)

          spreading is better..I think if you don't have SWA you can go for Fabianski...you can also look at Adrian for good fixtures..but for 0.1 less you can get Jenkinson as well...

      I have the same keepers. I hadn't considered Begovic as a replacement, but he does look an option. Home against a Southampton team that are not exactly banging the goals in looks quite good for GW33.

    Hello DZ, I have a headache because Foster was my GW33 keeper. He might be back by then, but "at least 4 weeks" doesn't sound hopeful so I'd appreciate your thoughts please.

    (Advocaat willing) I have Pantilimon to cover the next Gameweeks 30-32, so do I:

    A. Max DGW31 & cover GW33: Foster -> Guzan -> Schwarter/Heaton/Myhill(Foster)/Speroni -> WC GW34
    B. Max DGW31 and miss GW33: Foster -> Guzan -> WC GW34
    C. Cover GW33 only: Foster -> Schwarter/Heaton/Speroni -> WC GW34
    D. Do nothing, hope Foster's back GW33 and then WC GW34
    E. Something else (if so, any suggestions?)

    Other relevant details: 1FT, 0.5 ITB, Puncheon and Wollscheid also injured, and Sanchez, Eriksen and Aguero not doing much. Thanks!

        GK transfers are annoying. The fact you are thinking about getting rid of big hitters means GKs are less important. Pants only for me and probably won't bother with another GK.

      slight rotation/early sub risk?...giroud is a player who tires easily and doesnt perform well when hes tired....will be 270 mins in 8 days if he plays the full 90....cant see it myself....prob start due to excellent form but early sub
