    I actually think Benteke will be a success for Liverpool.

    This theory that he's a long ball battering ram?...

    For Belgium when selected he spearheads a strike force with some of the world's finest flair players behind me.

    His goal return for Villa is roughly one goal every two games.

    For Villa he spent most of his time chasing to win the ball back or holding it up because they are that terrible they can't get out of their own half.

    And generally saving their bacon week in week out despite playing in a team with a pile of nothing players.

      I agree, i think Liverpools midfield is skilled enough to place him the ball for some easy finishing

        This is it.

        For me he's up there with the best strikers in the Premier League.

        And as you quite rightly say he has the chance to be a penalty box striker, for a team who should by all accounts dominate the ball at home and versus weaker opposition.

          Still on the dear side, look for nailed on defenders in mid-tableish sides that are nailed on for less than £5m. See my 1st draft below.

          As there's no subs, you need those big hitters in mid/attack. For example, Aguero is only £3m more than Ivan!!!

        Yep, they're both 'wait and see' picks until the picture becomes clearer. Kaboul is a strange one, a poor defender imo being thrust into a side most of us rate as a side that willbring us clean sheets.Will he weaken Sunderland?

      I'm reluctant to go for Ritchie. I put him in the same sort of class as Peter Whittingham who I went for when Cardiff got promoted. Scores for fun in the championship and takes free kicks and corners but Cardiff just simply didn't score enough goals for him to be worthwhile.. and he was 1.4 cheaper than Ritchie. I can't see him being worth it when you've got Lens, Payet and Ayew around his price range.

    I have created a Money league for FFS users this money league is £5 to join through Sky Bet and is split between the top four positions 40% to the winner.

    Details are:

    League name: D1sableFFS
    Pin: 8117216
    Password: FFS

    The money put in is great but the real incentive is to win the overall best cash league prize of £5,000!!

    The more of us that enter the more chance we have of grabbing it. If we were to win then i would also split this prize money between the top four positions meaning some real dosh is on offer.

    Good luck!

    Alright troops,

    I Lurked a lot in here last season and promised I'd be a bit more active this year.

    Current team for Sky is a bit of a 'hedging my bets for the first few GW' set up, but should be pretty easy to adapt quickly once the seasons underway:

    Boruc
    Prodl, Martin, Morgan
    Mata, Hazard, Silva, Ozil, Payet
    Rodriguez, gomis

    1 mil in the bank just now

    usual cheap defence, 3 full backs though to capitalise on assists/tackle bonus

    Midfield I've started with the priciest mid in each of the the big 4 (liable to change one or two based on pre-season) and Payet for my budget pick, I'm not that familiar with him but from what I've seen and heard he looks outrageous value at 6.2m

    2 upper mid priced strikers that I think have a good chance to do well this season - planning to bring aguero in GW 4 for one of them, will mean a downgrade of one of my big midfield 4 to a 7 - 8 mil player too but I'm hoping Walcott or Depay will have had a storming start to make the decision simple.

    Thoughts? Advice on Payet would be much appreciated, any suggestions on who you might look at changing would be much appreciated too!

      U have a clear plan and it looks good, transfers are inevitable early doors but also essential to get it right quickly and you look to have the adaptability to do that. I'm currently set on Payer too, like you I think he looks great value. Let's just hope he's good 🙂

      Cheap strikers are a tad concerning but last season showed they can perform.

        Cheers,

        Hoping to build on last year, ran pretty well for most of the season then started to falter later on as I'd made a few too many drunken transfers around christmas time! Finished just outside the top 100 and won a bit of money with 4th on Sky's £10 league.

        If I avoid transfers after the pub hopefully I can finish inside the 100 this year!

        Aguero will definitely be coming in for Watford, I've got a feeling RodrigueZ and Gomis will both have decent season's this year but plan to swap out whoever of the 2 isn't on full steam out by GW 4.

        Surely Mata will be nailed? He was a powerhouse before last season and seemed to be stepping up again at the tail end last year? On pens and hailed by Van Gaal as his best outfield player last season too?

          was he hailed as his best outfield player? got a link?

          He was in and out last season. Now Depay is in the mix too.

            On double checking I misquoted slightly there :/, he said "I think Juan Mata is always one of my better players" .. http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2015/06/27/sleeper-juan-mata-2/

            33 appearances (27 starts) though and was nailed on towards the tail end of the season in the right wing berth. Depay's more of a left sided player I thought?

            Long term I reckon I'll probably switch him out for the cheaper Depay once he's settled and firing on all cylinders.

      Hart's too expensive for my liking and don't know anything about Francis, Ruichie, Abdi, and Wilson.

      3-5-2 is the optimum formation, even with heap forwards, so maybe jiggle around a bit.

    Boruc;
    Matthews / Holebas / Taylor
    Hazard / Milner / Ramsey /Schweinsteiger / Clasie
    Rooney / Wilson

    Boruc & Matthews ex-Celtic players so a bit of biasism there. Milner looks good for bonuses as well as Schwein and Clasie.

      In midfield if possible for just one of Schwein or Clasie.

    Quick question about points

    Vardy got more than Giroud, and he only scored 5 goals (12 assists) whereas Giroud got 14 goals. I know Giroud didn't play the full season but that's quite striking. Especially because Lei have some really good fixtures to start with.

    The West Brom defence got 16 cleansheets last season, 2nd most in the league however their defenders didn't do particularly well. Lescott played 3000 mins, 1 goal 2 assists and 15 cleansheets but only got 114 points. Fonte got 141 points, with 0 attacking and 15 cs as well.

    Is it the match rating of 7+ that causes these?

      Defenders get -1 for every goal conceded, so maybe that's why Lescott's points are lower?

      Hopefully someone more in tune with what's going on can answer both questions.

      Vardy = 5 goals (25), 10 assists (30), 6 Motm (30), 5 yellows (-5), 26 starts (52), 8 sub apps (8) = 140

      Giroud = 14 goals (70), 3 assists (9), 3 Motm (15), 5 yellows (-5), 1 red (-3), 21 starts (42), 6 sub apps (6) = 134

      Lescott = 1 goal (5), 2 assists (6), 1 Motm (5), 1 tackling bonus (2), 3 yellows (-3), 34 starts (68), 15 clean sheets (75) 44 goals conceded (-44) = 114

      Fonte = 0 goals (0), 1 assist (3), 1 Motm (5), 5 passing bonus (10) 4 tackling bonus (8) 5 yellows (-5), 37 starts (74), 14 clean sheets (70) dont have stats on how many goals he conceded but -1 for each makes = 141

        Thanks, much appreciated. Yeah those Motm's are very important. Vardy got 6 last year? Wow.

        Reminds me of old FPL bonuses. Lampard would get 3 bonus points for just playing 5 minutes, Adam always got 3 bonus points too. I'll have to look for Motm darlings. I think Milner will be one.

    I asked Sky about the Friday night kickoff being in GW2 and this was their response:

    The Sky game week runs from Friday to Thursday this season. The Aston Villa v Man Utd game on Friday 14th August is part of game week 2, which runs from 00:01am on Friday 14th August to 11:59pm on Thursday 20th August. You can make one captaincy change in game week 1 from Saturday 8th August to Thursday 13th August and one captaincy change in game week 2, which runs from Friday 14th August to Thursday 20th August.

    Sorry if this has already been mentioned but it was news to me.

    hi guys,
    This is only my second post ever, although I have been a member now for 3 seasons but I regularly look in and read posts for advice on team selections and trends.

    I've been playing the sky game for about 7 years and last year recorded my highest finish coming in around 1300 place, although I did finish in the top 50 for the last Euros (so was very disappointed when sky didn't have a World Cup version last year!). I also won manager of the week last season (using my third team) in the one off Spurs v QPR game. My prize a nice iPad and sky fantasy football club scarf.

    I've joined the money league which I'm really looking forward to as I've never played for money before; adds a really good edge to it all!

    my team after the first pass looks like this;
    Pantimillon
    Lescott, jenkinson, van aanholt
    De pay, hazard, cazorla, Ritchie, Abdi
    Rooney, Costa

    I have enough in the bank to bring in Ageuro for either Rooney or Costa. I have gone with the convention of saving on my gk and defenders, however, I have normally gone with either Baines or Ivanovic and in particular last season Terry and had some success. But I'm struggling to find a cheaper striker who will give the funds to replace Lescott for one. I will probably use one transfer early to bring in Ageuro and then when until game week 5 before using a block of transfers to set my team up. For me it's important in the sky game to keep transfers in reserve. I managed to keep 10 back for the last 10 game weeks last season and shot up the leader board from outside the top 10000 to just outside of the top 1000. I will adopt a similar long term strategy this season but push slightly earlier as I would like to target the top 500.

          Could be good value but with only four goals last season in the Championship (i think) i would want more!

    Hi Disable, any chance you could post the details of your £5 league again? Seem to have lost it.

      Ok, found it now.

      RE, this:

      "The money put in is great but the real incentive is to win the overall best cash league prize of £5,000!!

      The more of us that enter the more chance we have of grabbing it. If we were to win then i would also split this prize money between the top four positions meaning some real dosh is on offer."

      Please could you clarify what the split would be if the league won the £5k? Given the prize is determined by the scores from the top 5 teams, it would seem unfair to split between the top 4. Anyway, if you could come back with some numbers I'll enter my teams, cheers!

        Ok top 5 it is, hadn't really thought about it yet.

        Will use this split for money if we come top 3

        1st 40%
        2nd 22%
        3rd 16%
        4th 12%
        5th 10%

        Currently 21 people in it so £105 quid for just our league

    This Abdi boy.. is he any good or is it just his price that makes him appealing?

        The Watford fans rave about him. I don't have any stats though, sorry. There is also a lot of transfer movement from Watford, so some non Watford fans think he may not be nailed on.

      3-5-2 for me

      Either depending on who's hot at the time. I got a top 100 finish last year playing primarily a 3-4-3 but that was because Harry Kane as 3rd striker was so cheap. Given the addition of so many viable mids this year (Payet, Depay, Milner, Firmino etc) 3-5-2 is looking to be the better of the 2 for now.

    Stekelenberg
    Terry, Soares, Angella
    Hazard, Arter, Walcott, Howson, Eriksen
    Aguero, Wilson(bou)

    If aguero doesn't start season then Benteke

    RMT please

    Countinho / Walcott / Ramsey / Mata / Cazorla / Yaya

    Who would you pick? (2)

      Yaya and Cazola.
      I'd question Ramsey/Walcott/Mata game time.
      What about my team above?

        Decent! Not sure on Abdi though. I have no idea what he is like. Is it a proper bargain or just a very good cheapy? Also, you've already got Mane so id try improve on Bolasie. He's been good but forms been very on and off.
