The ScoutCast – Episode 172 – Fuzzy

We take Fantasy Football seriously. So much so, myself, Granville and Jonty find time each week to join up online and natter semi-aimlessly about it. Some of you even go so far to watch and listen. We all take Fantasy Football that seriously.

That’s why we dedicate this episode of the ScoutCast to Fuzzy Warbles, whose passion for Fantasy Football drove him to scribe a long letter to the Premier League. In doing so, he raised his head above the parapet to gain the attention from the mainstream press and various Twitterati.

Predictably, that attention was somewhat confused as to why someone would care so much about a few points to muster an 800-word email.

We know why.

The three of us are more than happy to waste more words discussing “CedricGate”, the catalyst for Fuzzy’s irritation.

Before that, we analyse Gameweek 9, discuss the contrasting fortunes of Jamie Vardy, Anthony Martial and Eden Hazard, plus assess the Gameweek 11 fixture swing. We may have a few chuckles along the way, but we’re taking it very seriously.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first broadcast live on our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. You can view the full version on the larger movie player below.

For the edited audio version, you’ll need this link or the smaller player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

On a scale of 1 to completely catastrophic, how bad is it not having Sanchez in your team coming into this gameweek?

I think I have made a mistake by not owning him.

This is how I am lining up:

        Fabianski
        Monreal | Janmaat | Cathcart
        Sanchez | Hazard | KDB | Mane
        Lukaku | Pelle | Ighalo

        Surman | Cedric | Souare

We pay and aren't supposed to use the exact stats.
If you'd like to pick holes go get them.
And count the total goals scored whilst you're there

I pay too, thanks. If 'total goals' is your biggest indicator, I would put a bet on Jamie Vardy winning the Ballon D'or if I were you.

its between Mahrez, Vardy and Sanchez for me

Sanchez slight risk of bench. Most likely play 60-70 mins and be rested midweek vs Sheff.
Vardy- Amazing run, no risk of rotation, Lei scoring for fun
Mahrez- will surely be back playing full 90 at home. set pieces, peno's?, main playmakers

Going with Sanchez, everton were horrible last week, and if he plays 70, should be enough for a goal/assist in his form.

Well, this is how I think...
I think Vardy will score at least, at least one goal in this clash of "go for it match"...Sanchez might score one or two...might.
I'll go for Vardy but have Sanchez in team as well...

Innsie I'm very tempted to get wijnaldum v s'land for a -4 instead of hoolihan whom I'll be benching to allow ighalo play. Should I wait a wk and secondly would you play hoolihan or ighalo this wk?? Hav Vardy and pelle up front

They see it as an inconvenience for them rather than a route into Champions League and an opportunity to give players, squad and team, a chance to play European football. They want to put all their eggs in thd Premier League basket. Sad really that they look down their noses in it. Some of the 'so-called' weaker teams in Europe have used their Europa experience to help them qualify for and, in some cases, do well in Champions League.

      1. Klopp's Kids
        • 10 Years

Yes, this was the point I wanted to drive home. It's disrespectful when English teams think they're much better than those in the Europa league because they're arguably in a significantly better league.

I think teams should not consider it as an inconvenience at all. If your team DOES qualify for the Champions League they better get used to the extra games ahead of time.

Some great underdog v bug team clashes too. And proper football from teams with no money giving their last ounce of effort and energy compared to some PL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A players on rockstar wages giving One Direction output.

Needing some inspiration on who to bench.

    Current set up is

    Myhill
    Kolarov/dier/bellerin
    Sanchez(v)/mahrez/payet/mane/kdb
    Vardy (c)/ lakaku

    Bench is Schmicheal/ martial/ Williams/ Cedric

Although can't make up my mind if martial at home is better than lakaku or mane also if Williams may be a better bet than kolarov with him returning from injury?

    Any thoughts appreciated

            Thanks Mull, I saw that.
Just wondering what there thoughts were, did WR need 5 or Wakey prefer to take 3 weeks for instance.
I should have done it earlier and need to do it now but waiting till next week would make more sense fixture wise - so 2 weeks makes sense but 3 weeks is better value.

I've spoken to both about why they did it. WR had a lot of flags so he made loans to players that had good fixtures which worked out really well, however, I think it was a little excessive. Wakey only did a 2 week loan because he's going to make a few more in GW11 to take advantage of the big fixture change.

I've somehow ended up in the top 100 so I have a decent chance of winning it. I think I'm set up better than others for the next 10 GWs but it still could be a little better. When my current loans finish I'm probably going to bring in an Everton defender and a United mid/forward

At the top of the league I'd say so or very difficult to make but ground on a weekly basis.
It's early days in the game & the friendlier loan system might change that.

WHich midfield would you rather have from GW 11-13?

1 - KDB, Payet, Mane, Sanchez, Barkley
2 - KDB, Payet, Mane, Ozil, Sterling

Basically, I REALLY want to double up on CIty mids for NOR and avl, but can only do it by either a) Getting Ozil instead of Sanchez or b) giving up Mane.
