Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 19

Chelsea were without a trio of injured players for yesterday’s trip to United. Everton have worries in the centre of the park, Mousa Dembele is doubtful again for Spurs, whilst West Ham are hopeful on a weekend return for Dimitri Payet. Here’s the latest from yesterday’s matches..

Arsenal
Mathieu Flamini missed the Gunners win over Bournemouth with a minor ankle problem, according to Arsene Wenger. The Arsenal boss also played down Kieran Gibbs’ late withdrawal:

“He [Flamini] might be alright. I could have pushed him but he was a little risk so I decided not to take it because it was an inflamed ankle.”

Aston Villa
Remi Garde was without Jores Okore for the trip to Norwich due to a knee problem:

“His knee was injured. I don’t know how serious. As the game took place very soon after the last one, he had a swollen knee and couldn’t play.”

Chelsea
Gary Cahill missed the trip to United with a foot problem, Guus Hiddink has confirmed, whilst Cesc Fabregas was sidelined due to illness. Loic Remy was unavailable due to a calf complaint.

Crystal Palace
Damien Delaney missed the Eagles’ clash with Swansea after picking up a knock in the weekend draw at Bournemouth.

Everton
James McCarthy returned to action from a groin problem but lasted less than half an hour before suffering a recurrence of the injury. Roberto Martinez has further concerns in the centre of the park after McCarthy’s replacement, Tom Cleverley, was also forced off:

“To lose Tom Cleverley through injury and to get a reaction, a flare up from James McCarthy is a real negative. It was a blow to lose James so early. We felt we needed an extra energy and you saw that with his impact in with the assist for the first goal. Tom then felt his Achilles tendon and we will have to assess it. He tried to stay on as long as he could. He played the pass for Romelu Lukaku for the second goal but he had to come off. He made a really big impact when he came on and he was playing a massive role.”

Newcastle
Steve McClaren was forced to make a last-minute change to his XI for yesterday’s trip to West Brom after Rob Elliot dropped to the bench due to illness. Vurnon Anita was replaced late on after sustaining a hamstring injury, with McClaren fearing the problem is “a bad one”.

Swansea
Federico Fernandez (foot) and Wayne Routledge (knock) were both unavailable for the Swans’ trip to Selhurst Park yesterday.

Tottenham
Mousa Dembele was withdrawn just before the break against Watford yesterday due to a recurrence of his ongoing ankle problem. After the 2-1 win, Mauricio Pochettino went on to say:

“We need to wait and assess him tomorrow. We hope it’s not too bad. Maybe one week, two weeks.”

West Brom
Victor Anichebe was forced off with a hamstring problem late on during the Baggies home win over Newcastle. Jonas Olsson was withdrawn during the first half with a similar complaint, though Tony Pulis remains optimistic on the duo ahead of the weekend derby with Stoke:

“Vic is a top player. He showed that today. They just couldn’t handle him and he did very well. Fingers crossed he and Jonas will be ok for the Stoke game – it’s been suggested that it might just be cramp. Hopefully it won’t be any more.”

West Ham
Nikica Jelavic was sidelined for yesterday’s win over Southampton with a knee injury. Enner Valencia was forced off with a knee problem late on and James Collins picked up an ankle knock but chairman David Gold expects both to make the weekend clash with Liverpool.

In further positive news, Gold says he is “hopeful” that Dimitri Payet could play some part against the Merseysiders this weekend.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Anyone else on aguero(c) tonight? Seriously need a haul. 32 pts with 5 to play.

On 48 with Aguero (C) KDB and Moreno left.

I took a risk by not captaining Lukaku or Ozil so I'm fully expecting a four pointer!

I m in the same boat, bad news for us all is that my captaincy record this season is 3 from 18. I see him getting a run out first half and subbed as a precaution as City cruise it. He could get a hat trick in those 45 minute

I'm pretty bored (or board...) so trying to decide on a board/party game to buy. I've narrowed it down to Cards Against Humanity (played this before), Bang!, Pandemic, Ticket to ride.

Anyone got any ideas or feedback on the above or other games - e.g. how long they take, replayability, etc?

Not sure if you're into it, but there's a Game of Thrones one that looked really cool, think they updated it to suit 6 players (and includes all of the main houses; Starks, Lannisters, Baratheons, Martells, Tyrell and Greyjoy)

Ticket to ride is quite a good game, easy to learn and to teach. Try Ticket to Ride Europe, I personally think it's the best version of the game.

Also, if you're thinking about Pandemic, you could instead go for Pandemic Legacy, which recently came out and is being touted as one of the best games of all time. It's different to a normal game in the sense that the game changes and evolves as you play it and is modified permanently. You will get about 20 plays of it, but the experience is unlike any other.

Finally, King of Tokyo, Takenoko or Stone Age are good entre level games as well. Check them out!

You need Kun (c), KDB and Kolarov to get 20 points basically. If City play well you should be alright but personally I think a low scoring match tonight although I hope not as I've captained Aguero to!

Brought in Ramsey for Barkley this week and captained him - probably would have captained Ozil otherwise.
Also played AOA and benched Dawson who scored 8 pts - was going to bench Mahrez vs City so REALLY hope he gets 9+ to make up for it

1 free transfer this week. Thanks for the Dann re-affirmation this week.

    Here we go again.

    Butland
    Bellerin - Alderweireld - Moreno
    Ramsey - Ozil - Mahrez - KdB
    Vardy - Lukaku - Kane

    McCarthy - Dann - Westwood - Targett

    3.1 in the bank.

Thinking of changing Targett to someone who has a good fixture at the back in GW21. Evans was a prime candidate but has Chelsea away. Liverpool vs Arsenal doesn't help in the same week, nor does Tottenham vs Leicester.

Not this season. A few injuries wouldn't go astray.

I always look forward to 18:45 for line ups, then the hour before kick off drags badly! Along with the 15 minutes at half time, seems to last forever.

To go through in the cup I need Moreno to score 18 points more than Kolorov. Come on Liverpool!

Already passing this GW off as a bad job. Thinking of saving transfer for this coming GW, what do you think?

    Butland
    Bellerin Bertrand Kolarov
    Mahrez(c) Ozil(vc) Walcott Silva
    Lukaku Kane Vardy

    McCarthy Toby Francis Westwood

Vardy likely to play tonight? I need him too. Cup opponent and I both on 60. He has Arnie first sub! I have Barkley.

I've Arnie first sub too - was my transfer. Need Mahrez or KDB out but that aint gonna happen. If it does I had my line up wrong in the first place...

    Lukaku Vardy Ighalo

I think I've had Butland start every single GW so I've never worried about Ruddy but when I play my WC I will certainly be changing him.

If you're playing it in March/April then I wouldn't want to carry Ruddy that long

Anyone know what score Jon Walters got when he played against Chelsea and scored two own goals and missed a peno? Surely the lowest score a player has ever had in Fantasy football?

Plenty of defenders have scored bad in big losses.
The Sunderland defender scoring an own goal in 8-0 loss vs S'ton or Wigan defender sent off vs Chelsea in GW38 years ago.

What's the worst captain performances you guys have ever had? Think mine was Balotelli against Liverpool, came on then swiftly got himself sent off!

    Attention please:

    Today is December 29, 2015
    29 + 12 + 15 = 56
    Its the 21st century:
    21x 56 = 1176
Now we add the two Numbers:
    1176 + 2015 = 3191
As you can see this number has no meaning at all.
    Thanks for your attention.
