FA Cup Third Round Team News

With the FA Cup Third Round set to get underway later this evening, there’s been a raft of press conferences taking place over the last 24 hours. Here’s the main news coming out of the Premier League camps so far..

Phil Jagielka is set to start Everton’s clash with Dagenham and Redbridge as he steps up his recovery from injury. Seamus Coleman, Tom Cleverley and Romelu Lukaku are ruled out for the Toffees, though Roberto Martinez has confirmed the latter is reacting well to treatment after being forced off with an ankle knock against City in midweek.

Alexis Sanchez remains sidelined for Arsenal’s clash with Sunderland, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. The Chilean will also miss the midweek league trip to Liverpool but could be back in time for next weekend’s Gameweek 22 encounter with Stoke. Mikel Arteta is available to face the Black Cats, whilst Tomas Rosicky will return to full training next week.

Alan Hutton, Carlos Sanchez and Gabby Agbonlahor are all doubts for Villa’s clash with Wycombe tomorrow afternoon. Winger Adama Traore has been ruled out for eight-to-ten weeks with a broken bone in his foot.

Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure have all been ruled out of Liverpool’s encounter with Exeter tonight. Whilst Toure is expected back for the midweek visit of Arsenal, Lovren is likely to miss the next two league matches, whilst Coutinho is set to be sidelined for around three weeks, according to Jurgen Klopp. Jordon Ibe is also set to miss out after becoming the latest Liverpool player to sustain a hamstring injury.

Slaven Bilic has revealed that Manuel Lanzini is expected to be out “for two or three weeks” with the groin problem sustained against Liverpool. Winston Reid is back in full training for the Hammers, whilst Victor Moses is set to return to training after the weekend.

Yohan Cabaye returns from a one-match suspension for Palace’s clash with Southampton. Alan Pardew has talked up the fit-again Bakary Sako and revealed he also hopes to have Connor Wickham and Dwight Gayle available for the Gameweek 21 trip to Villa on Tuesday evening.

Graziano Pelle is set to miss Southampton’s cup clash with Palace, Ronald Koeman has confirmed. The Italian has a chance of making the midweek match against Watford, though, as he steps up his recovery from a knee problem. Victor Wanyama serves the first of a two-match ban this weekend, Cedric Soares is fit for selection once again and Sadio Mane will return to the starting XI after being dropped last week for disciplinary reasons. Koeman also revealed that Frazer Forster remains out this weekend – the keeper will be assessed after he plays for the reserves again on Monday before a decision is made over his first-team return.

Geoff Cameron is a doubt for Stoke’s match with Doncaster after picking up an ankle problem in training. Mark Hughes also has concerns over Phil Bardsley (groin) and Stephen Ireland (thigh).

Sam Allardyce has hinted at rotation ahead of Sunderland’s trip to the Emirates. Jack Rodwell, Younes Kaboul, Seb Larsson and Adam Matthews remain sidelined through injury for the Black Cats.

Quique Sanchez Flores has revealed he won’t make too many alterations for Watford’s showdown with Newcastle, though the Watford boss conceded it’s possible he will rest “at least one” of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney.

Eddie Howe has revealed that Josh King was forced off with a niggle against Leicester last week and will continue to be monitored. The Bournemouth boss also confirmed his side are yet to receive a work permit for new boy Juan Iturbe.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

When do we reckon Aguero will rise in price?

After the PL pressers I reckon - unless lots of people who don't realise the games aren't this weekend bring him in for Lukaku on Friday.

Hey all, i'm pretty new here, just wanted to see your guys thoughts on my transfers this week:

    Had 2FT so -4
    Vardy -> Aguero
    Lukaku -> Costa
    De Bruyne -> Willian

    Team is:
    De Gea
    Wollscheid, Alderweirld, Kolarov
    Alli, Ozil, Willian, Yaya Toure,
    Aguero, Ighalo, Costa

    Bench:
    Hennessey, Dann, Bellerin, Mahrez

    1.0m In the bank

Might change my defence.. Aguero captain i'm thinking though.

KDB just never seems to consistently get me points, I did feel a bit cold taking him out but it freed the funds for Aguero and Costa. Lukaku was a tough call but they've got tough fixtures and away for the next 2 , and I reckon I can capitalise on both Costa and Aguero having home fixtures for at least the next 2. Payet is the only one I feel is missing 🙁

I'd say Nyom as Saints have some serious goalscoring issues (I'm a saints fan!)

Tough call on Arnie / Yaya. Probably Arnie as Norwich < Everton

There's a lot of talk about getting rid of Kane because of the Dembele effect. Even if it's true he's back next week so what's the point?

            My front 7 are:

            KDB, Ozil, Payet, Mahrez

      Hey ya !

      Hennesey
      Bellerin Francis Walker
      Mahrez KDB Ozil Alli
      Lukaku Aguero Kane

      McCarthy Moreno Huth Wanyama

Thinking either fixing defence or save.
Considering Huth my weakest link in D. Currently got 2.4m banked 1 FT.

      A) Huth - > Cresswell / Azpi / Williams
      B) Save

would you take deeney over ighalo if it was only way to afford aguero?
since deeney got his first goal there is only 13 points difference between them, which is about a point a game for £1.2 mill

5th top scoring forward in the game for 5.2 really isn't bad. I'm biased as a Watford fan, but I think he's a pretty great option. Needs a rest though, would be wary about getting him in if he isn't rested tomorrow.

Afraid of going without Aguero, when having spare millions to no real use. Even though Lukaku have good fixtures after these upcoming two weeks, may it be too late compared to Agueros accumulated points up until then.

In the next 5 is it only Swansea (barely easy anymore after the sacking) and Newcastle at home that are good fixtures. Thinking Lukaku can overcome the injury and deliver the same way as before? That's why I doubt atm..

Jordan Ayew have scored in 5 of his last 10 games.
In 3 of those 5 he also got 3 bonus pts even though Villa did not win any of those 3 games.

Play Bellerin (liv), Walker (LEI) or Nyom (sot)

Liverpool have a lot of attacking players injured, Leicester haven't been scoring much and may not have vardy and Southampton are also out of form. Help please 🙂

Looking back at the predictions we made pre-season and it looks like I'll have to get rid of my crystal ball!

Chelsea to finish top, Underachievers: Leicester, Leicester and Watford to finish bottom, Worst signing: Jordan Ayew...

4 of us predicted Ozil most assists

Lukaku top goalscorer clearly the best prediction of the lot 😎

          Leicester relegated the worst 🙁

Christmas Day prediction of top 7:

          Man C
          Arsenal
          Tottenham
          Man U
          Leicester
          Liverpool
          Chelsea

Already thinking about revising that too.

I had Watford for relegation... Along with Villa and Sunderland, with BFS at Sunderland I'll probably only get 1/3
My bets for the season seem to be doing better though:
Arsenal finish above Spurs, West Ham top half finish, Villa relegation and Bournemouth survival - 20/1 acca
