A host of popular picks from City, Leicester and Everton come under scrutiny, whilst we also take a look at Arsenal’s misfiring Frenchman and United’s big-money starlet in light of Wayne Rooney’s knee injury absence.

Nay on Walker in my opinion. He should play the FA cup this weekend, Trippier then play Europa and then Walker the cup so you could get a home match against Swansea out of him.

Stay away from that one, Poch.

      1) Plays for Sunderland
      2) Wasting transfers on non-GW30 playing players

Sublime to the ridiculous. Training very week but no matches to back that up , I know it is so frustrating for both the kids and the managers. Something must be done to push forward kids football in this country. All the money goes to the Prem and not grass roots which is both short sighted and fundamentally wrong.

              • 11 Years

It's a nonsense. Our league is holding an emergency meeting on 01 March to discuss what, if anything, can be done.

Just play kids football in spring and summer instead of winter...it's not rocket science.

If it was summer Wakey do you think even with the usual kids squad of 16 you could put out a side of 11 each each week with kids being away on hols ? I think if this is an option squad sizes would have to be increased which would lead to even worse benching headaches and more mardy parents.

"Of course, it could have been quite different if Colombia had submitted their bench player and they played their top-5,000-ranked star player Poccecinno (58 points) ahead of captain Ayew Serious, (35 points). This would have won the tie by 10."

I think the outline was there in my version and it looks like Balders added his own bit too.

Out of curiosity if you had submitted a bench who would you have benched?

I probably would have benched a non-Lukaku owner. I can't remember the teams now but we probably would have lost anyway

That's the way it goes - sometimes you have too many MD1 players - other weeks you have too many GW2. It's all about the players you choose to play

Need to be tuned into when Sky and BT announce their fixtures. Expectation probably was that they would progress in EL and would play a lot of games on Sunday, If they beat Midgetland next week that guarantees 2 more MD2 games (ignoring FACup results)

Ok say United somehow beat Shrewsbury Town, which means GW30 MUN vs CPL will be a blank. And I'm currently on DDG and Hennessey.

I had pre planned that this would be the best GW to do DDG to Butland (for a hit) as Stoke have 2 great fixtures in AVL and NEW back to back and this will negate the -4 maybe with a CS. And of course I'll have an active keeper for GW 30.

    Thoughts on this please?

Yeah I would've loved to get one if someone stood out from that Stoke team. Arnie was the option I looked at but he's been a bit in and out with injuries. Others I just don't feel I can count on.

Why are people thinking the replay could be after GW 30? The quarters are taking place that exact GW.. So its impossible.

So I think it'll be the 8th because that's the only time you can fit it.

CL on the 8th, so will very likely either be the 7th (most likely IMO) or on GW30 - no other spaces for it to be played unless something strange happens

Finally done Lukaku > Vardy. Bit annoying really, wish early sellers had been punished more!

Team is looking very nice for next week.

    Gomes (H)

    Wolly (H), Cresswell (H), Dier (H)

    Alli (H), Mahrez (H), Payet (H), Ozil (A)

    Vardy (H), Kane (H), Costa (A)

9/11 home fixtures, not bad! Only annoying thing is I really wanted a Stoke player but don't know who I'd get rid of. Lingard is 5th mid and I've only just brought him in. Would also leave me with a slight benching headache.

Very astute point from Ruth on Diva's blog.

No games are officially off yet.

Say Everton draw Hull/Arsenal in the QF. If the Hull/Arsenal replay is moved to the QF date as there is precedent to do so, then Everton's GW30 game can in fact go ahead.

Probably, but it might be Tuesday - BBC/BT might want to wait until all ties are played before agreeing which channel will show what replay, and I think the TV companies have a say on when replays will be.

Maybe, on blanks I tend to think as long as you have a squad out its not too damaging. For this one at least, everyone has spurs and Arsenal and probably Man U. 30 will definitely be interesting though.

Any racing fans on here at this time ? Cheltenham festival coming up soon and other than the serious stuff Victoria Pendleton now fallen off twice in last 2 , once PTP when few fall and Racing Post comment about yesterday was "rider came off " and " the horse had just joined the issue when he lost his rider after a circuit . Cheltenham will be a big call after this".
Yes she is a great competitor but surely this is a step too far as her lack of experience of race riding could result in a serious injury to someone else.

Former Olympic rower and cyclist now trying national hunt race riding on one of Paul Nichols horses. Totally irresponsible imo in such a short timescale as she intends to ride in the Foxhunters Chase at the Cheltenham festival.

            No....just no....

It's not a sport....it's a gambling game that leads to horses being killed by so called horse lovers. I'll just as that you please find another "sport"...

And those are only the ones that die urging races...the numbers during training are equally shocking.

Race horse owners are little better than dog fighters....the results are the same.

Ah was warned in previous posts but didn't know your views on this. Unless you have seen it for yourself horses in training generally live the life of Riley. Horses naturally want to jump and run and certainly apart from a minority of unscrupulous individuals they live very happy lives.
I once had a share in a horse that ran at the Cheltenham Festival and was pulled up. The race after he got injured at the age of 5 and ever since had been kept as a pet and has a great retirement
Public perception of horse racing is sadly misguided by various elements of the press. A visit to a training stables would very quickly change this as the horses are treated generally like royalty. Come racing with me any day Wakey and I will show you it is not the misconception the press generally show it as.

The sad reality (for the horses) is that horses have been bred so well for hose racing that they can no longer survive an accident (the broken leg can not be survived)

The sport and the breeding of higher tuned horses needs to stop....those figures in the link aren't a lie, they are the truth about how many horses are being killed in the name of sport.

Unfortunately in one respect you are right. In terms of flat racing where the real money is in breeding they do get broken legs but this is true for any horse in any situation , home kept horses die from these leg injuries in the same way.
Horses in training live aN extremely high quality of life , way higher than domestically kept animals. Horses have been bred over the years to run and jump and this is in their DNA.
I think on this one we will probably always have different views. Incidentally I have also owned 3 greyhounds but this might well open up another can of worms ?............

Yes I know. I also was careful to post the opposite side of the spectrum from the Daily Mirror below.

Horse racing has arrived at a point where it needs to take a serious look at it's so called "sport". It isn't' the same "sport" as thirty years ago and it will only become more cruel.

Horse racing is finished as a "sport" and no amount of posts by genuine horse lovers will excuse he "sport" for shooting horses. (Yes, I know their atre good owners TL)

I think you have just covered most things in your comment. Here's how I see things :-
Bookies are inherently more greedy as time goes by and it is only on their instigation via the levy that they can show terrible racing in their shops and online all hours. This is only a means of getting losers onto the various gaming machines in their shops .
What needs to happen is the banning of these machines in shops and much higher prize money in racing to eradicate the poor horses who are far more probe to injury.
Racing is generally far more injury conscience than previous but more horses are getting injured from welfare causes campaigning to make fences easier. The consequence of this is that horses jump them far wuicker leading to more serious injuries.

Pets and animals are put down all the time . This only raises the question as to the best manner to do this. This paper is renowned for this kind of material and will not show the other side of the coin.
