Double Gameweeks 34 and 37 Announced

The Premier League have announced a number of rearranged fixtures this afternoon, affording Fantasy managers plenty of time to now plan and prepare around the upcoming double Gameweeks 34 and 37.

Gameweek 34

The following fixtures were previously postponed due to domestic cup matches but have now been added:

Tuesday, April 19 – Newcastle vs Man City

Wednesday, April 20 – Liverpool vs Everton, Man United vs Crystal Palace, West Ham vs Watford,

Thursday, April 21 – Arsenal vs West Brom.

Gameweek 37

The following fixtures were previously postponed due to domestic cup matches but have now been added:

Tuesday, May 10 – West Ham vs Man United

Wednesday, May 11 – Liverpool vs Chelsea, Norwich vs Watford, Sunderland vs Everton.

Schedule Re-cap

Long story short, then, five teams – Liverpool, Watford, Everton, West Ham and Man United – have doubles in Gameweek 34 and 37.

United, West Ham, Everton, Palace, Norwich and Watford have no fixture in Gameweek 35, however, due to the FA Cup schedule.

Arsenal, West Brom, Newcastle, Man City and Crystal Palace have one double apiece, in Gameweek 34.

Chelsea, Sunderland and Norwich have one double apiece, in Gameweek 37.

This leaves Everton’s clash with Palace, which was originally pencilled in for Gameweek 35, as the only fixture yet to be rearranged. This is due to the fact that the pair go head-to-head in the FA Cup semi-finals that weekend.

We’ll go into much more detail in future articles but here’s a quick check on what today’s announcement means..

Man City’s trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 34 is preceded by a trip to Chelsea that weekend but the surrounding fixtures are due to promote big investment, with a favourable (WBA, che &new, STO) run between Gameweek 33 and 35.

Newcastle, meanwhile, also host Swansea at St James in Gameweek 34, with a home clash against Palace and trip to Villa in their subsequent three.

United are handed a very promising pair of Gameweek 34 fixtures, with back-to-back home encounters against Villa and Palace. The downside, though, is that they face a blank the following week. Their Gameweek 37 double consists of trips to Norwich and West Ham.

Liverpool look ripe for investment as we prepare for our wildcards, with their schedule from Gameweek 33 onwards (STO, bou & EVE, NEW, swa, WAT & CHE, wba) looking very promising.

In addition to their two doubles and yet-to-be-schedule clash with Palace, Everton also host Southampton, Bournemouth and Norwich in the final five Gameweeks.

Arsenal, meanwhile, play twice at the Emirates in Gameweek 34, as Palace and West Brom pay visit. The Baggies precede their trip to north London with a home match against Watford.

Palace’s double in Gameweek 34 (ars, mun) will struggle to persuade many suitors, though that game in hand against Everton could come in handy further down the line.

West Ham’s trip to Leicester in Gameweek 34 has now been softened by a home encounter with Watford in the same round of fixtures. Like United, they then blank the following week but a pair of home matches in Gameweek 37 (SWA, MUN) is bound to see significant investment, bearing in mind that these are the Hammers’ final two matches at Upton Park before moving ground in the summer.

Watford hit the road in all four of their double fixtures – Gameweek 34 (wba, whu), Gameweek 37 (liv, nor) – and also blank in Gameweek 35. Chelsea also play twice in their double Gameweek 37, making their way to Sunderland and Liverpool.

Elsewhere in Gameweek 37, relegation candidates Norwich (MUN, WAT) and Sunderland (CHE, EVE) are both handed home matches that look vital to their survival hopes.

*We’ll be updating our fixture ticker later today in light of the news and roll out Scouting the Doubles articles nearer the time.

Can worry about this week now 🙂 Wildcarding in 33 so just this week and gw32 to worry about

      ---------Schmeichel
      ----Bellerin Ivanovic Toby
      Mahrez Alli Sigurdsson(c) Ozil
      ----Vardy Aguero Kane
      ----------------------------------------
      Hennessey Silva Wolly Daniels

1 FT, 1.0itb. Any punts look good?

Atm I'm thinking save and then :

Gw32: Siggy Alli > Willian Traore for free, or alternatively I can take a punt this week and just get Traore in next week for free. Any ideas?

Its very far in advance, but Martial and Firmino in 34 is better than getting Lingard and keeping Kane isn't it? Bit worried about sacrificing Spurs/Leicester options too early, but I'd still have 2 from either side after that.

Here's my attempt at a GW33 WC team, with 15 DGW players, but still managing 11 for GW35

      DDG, Elliot
      Bellerin, Kompany, Sakho, Cathcart, Janamat
      KDB, Ozil, Payet, Firmino, Antonio
      Kun, Lukaku, Martial

GW35: Transfer out Lukaku/Martial and a Mid to Willian + Pelle (plays Villa) to get 4-4-2
GW36/37: Get Lukaku/Martial and Barkley in for KDB and Pelle

      10 DGW players for 37

      DDG
      Bellerin, Coleman, Sahko
      Payet, Firmino, Barkley, Willian
      Lukaku, Martial, Deeney

      Elliot, Ozil, Kompany, Bellerin

Assuming team is built around favorable for one or the other option, which keeper would you pick for your DGW's (and by extension the rest of the season):

      A) Cech
      B) DDG

Oh dear, I'm starting to think I don't need Aguero anymore.
Home games against Utd, Stoke, Arsenal and West Brom.

Rest are all away games. Chelsea and Rafa away on GW 34. Could save a lot of cash and go for KDB or Sanchez instead.

      Lukaku Rondon/Ighalo/Sakho Martial front 3?

      Thoughts?

I agree on not needing Aguero. I, too, would get rid of him if I had the FT's for it. Lukaku and Martial are a good, but I'm not sure about your 3rd.

No wildcard..have 2FT..this is the best i can do without a hit for 34..12DGWers...i think i wil BB this lot..full XI for 35 and 10DGWers (TC) for gw37 for -4..looks alright?

      Ddg elliot
      Kompany ivanovic alderweireld bellerin clyne
      Mahrez ozil yaya wijnaldum firmino
      Aguero lukaku deeney

A lot of people are just focused on getting 15 DGW players. It doesn't make sense to get players in who arent likely to score good points. For e.g. getting a Palace defender for CPL vs ARS & MNU. I would rather have the likely DGW players + non-DGW players than All DGW players, many of whom have no prayer of getting more than 4 points.

Who's playing in Utd's defence week in week out (other than Smalling). I'm checking out the form on FPL, and it seems no one has had a run.

In fact, at first glance it doesn't look like any of them are playing!!

De Gea, Smalling and Blind are nailed on to start. Blind is a mf unfortunately. If you want someone else, Rojo has to be the safest bet till Shaw returns. But again, with the injury record we've had, it's still a risk.

no idea what to do with these doubles.

I have both wildcard and Triplw C but how do I play it?
I'm thinking triple C in 34 and wildcard in 37 will that work? And use FTs in the mean time to get 11DGW players out

      GW34 team
      De Gea
      Bellerin Kompany Cresswell
      Firminho Ozil (C) Payet Silva
      Aguero Vardy/Lukaku Martial/Welbeck/giroud/deeney

I can get the following 11 DGW players for GW34 with no hits and without using wildcard:

      De Gea
      Bellerin, Dawson, Kompany, Sakho
      Ozil, Payet, Firmino
      Lukaku, Aguero, Ighalo

      Bench: Forster, Mahrez, Alli, Fuchs

Worth going different to the norm and gambling on a GW36 wildcard?

This DGW arrangement actually makes the whole thing relatively simple. Especially to those who still have a WC, BB and TC chips available.

Tinkering about quickly, I was able to come up with a (sorf of) realistic team which is able to 1) play 15 DGW players in GW34; 2) play a full 11 in Gw35; and 3) play 11 DGW in GW37 with no hits.

      Ospina - Robles*
      Smalling* - Bellerin - Sakho - Sagna - Evans
Firmino - Milner - Yaya - Ozil -Wijnaldium
      Kun - Lukaku* - Ighalo*

*indicates on the bench on GW35

      And with planned transfer of
      GW34 - save FT
      GW35 - Kun to Costa
GW 36 - Yaya to Barkley
GW 37 - Ozil Bellerin to Payet Creswell

      You'll have this on GW37
      Robles
      Smalling - Sakho - Creswell
      Firmino - Coutinho - Barkley - Payet
      Costa - Lukaku - Ighalo

By all means this is just for tinkering purposes and most probably theres plenty of players who are not nailed on/injured/too crap to consider anymore. Been out of date since the beginning of my backpack trip around Europe.

And no thats not my team or some satan spawn kind of way for a cheeky RMT. I think theres few other players who might outscore the DGWs (im looking at you 3 from our current league leaders 😉
