Dugout Discussion – Italy vs Spain

The Round of 16 is concluded today with a couple more fixtures for Fantasy managers to consider.

First up at 5pm, Italy take on Spain for the right to meet Germany in the quarter-finals.

Both sides will be looking to bounce back from respective defeats to Republic of Ireland and Croatia in the final round of group matches.

Having swept aside Belgium and Sweden in their first couple of fixtures, Antonio Conte’s men will be confident of overcoming the defending champions, though will need to make do without the injured Antonio Candreva this afternoon.

The stats are somewhat in Spain’s favour for this one, though. Despite scoring just once more than The Azzurri so far, Vicente del Bosque’s side fired more than double the number of attempts on goal (51 to 25) and have allowed their opponents just 27 attempts on goal compared to Italy’s 34.

    Thing is you could use your wildcard bring lots of players from teams you fancy and then have to take hits to transfer them out if more than six players exit the tournament!

    In the world cup do the fixtures not go back and forth across the draw

    I.e France may now play Wales and Belgium could be playing Italy. That way being on one side of the draw isn't a disadvantage or advantage. Although I guess in the end it probably doesn't matter

        I feel "cheated" by spending so much on fifa points, surely something must be done or are EA going to stay quiet and compensate us with those awful packs?

          I've never really got FUT personally. You can use other modes to pick whichever players you want, for free..

              I'm a big fan of seasons. I mean i get why people like FUT, but I just want to pick up the pad and play, no messing about, and seasons allows that.
