Suspensions

Aguero Charged by FA

The FA have this afternoon charged Sergio Aguero with alleged violent conduct following his altercation with Winston Reid in City’s 3-1 win over West Ham at the Etihad last weekend.

City’s top scorer now has until 6pm tomorrow to contest the charge and, if found guilty, is set to serve a three-match domestic ban.

He would sit out the Gameweek 4 and 5 encounters against United and Bournemouth, as well as City’s EFL Cup trip to Swansea on September 20.

Aguero would then be available for the Gameweek 6 visit to the Liberty four days later.

Given the nature of the altercation, Aguero’s flailing arm gives him little hope of avoiding suspension.

Owned by over 52% of Fantasy Premier League managers, he’s already suffered significant sales after withdrawing from Argentina duties with a calf problem.

Should confirmation come tomorrow, the exodus will kick into overdrive as we look to spend the budget freed up by his departure from our squads.

For the 43.2% who don’t yet own him, Zlatan Ibrahimovic offers an easy swap for those who are seeking a place-holder for the City striker.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa looks reinvigorated under Antonio Conte and, along with Wayne Rooney, is one of only two forwards to produce returns in each of the first three Gameweeks.

The Aguero news comes at a time where Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez served a reminder of their big-hitter potential in midfield with double-figure weekend returns.

Whilst the temptation to invest the Aguero funds heavily in midfield is strong, keeping the door open for an easy return looks a wise move given his form under Pep Guardiola.

Wildcard this lot or just take a hit?

      Foster, Jaku
      Shaw, Williams, Stones, Friend, Amat
      Haz, Barkley, Townsend, Redmond, Capoue
      Kun, Ibra, Rondon

I would do something like this
      Kun & Townsend/Redmond > Costa/Lukaku & Sanchez for -4

      Thanks

      RMWC

      Heaton
      Baines Valencia McAuley
      Hazard Ozil Payet Lamela
      Ibrahimovic Lukaku Negredo

      Pickford Copoue Amat 4.5

      Couple of questions

      A - Foster
      Or
      B - Heaton

Best 4.5 to rotate with McAuley?

Any obvious changes to this team?

      1. Hamish
        • 7 Years

B - Heaton for the save potential+you already have west brom cover

Best 4.5 pick for me is a middlesbough D, I fancy Nsue now as he seems fully nailed on

Sterling will be going up at least twice over the next to weeks which is something to consider, and Payet will be dropping very soon. Maybe consider a swap as this would also free up funds to either save for Aguero return or to upgrade Ozil to Sanchez who I prefer although there is not much in it. Other than that looks very solid.

      a) Tekkers, Gray and Sanchez (no hit)

      b) Costa, Gray and Ozil (no hit)

Not overly keen on a defender double, would suggest a Man city (stones) or Chelsea (Terry) over shaw. the former saving you 0.5.

You look set up to play 3 up top, which can work but usually when you have the cheaper strikers hitting big - Vardy, Deaney, Ighalo - last season, Austin and ing the year before. Your current set up sees a lot of money up top, not a lot in mid - usually not a good spread. Kun and Ibra have been potent up front so far, but planked this week. Thats almost 25 mil getting you 4 points! Fer and Capoue are not going to get you many points, where as dropping down Defoe or Lukaku would save you a couple of Mil and you can bring in Lamela, Willian, Barkely, Carzola etc, with Negredo/Gray up top instead.

Also are you planning to bring back Kun if he is suspended/injured?? Make sure you allow for this in your budget.

Thanks so much for this. I had gray and am worried he will be banned. Negredo's fixtures after the next one worry me and Defoe isn't expensive for what he does. I think the midfield is actually pretty premium. What does ur front seven look like?

                Stirling/Hazard/Figh/Redmond/Mahrez
                Kun/Benteke/ Negredo

198 pts so far. But looking to make some changes in the mid with Arsenal approaching an easy run. I don't think its necessarily about looking premium - its playing the right team based on fixtures, (check out swansea's fixtures - also Fer's shot percentage is ridiculously high - he wont maintain) there position in the team, (Redmond being played up top for example) and their form - Stirling, him in for 2 weeks. Look at Ali, Mahrez and Payet last season, not premium but were awesome.

Id get Lamela in that squad. On form and was actually in the number 10 position for a short time on saturday.

Ouch!! I think you'd have to contact them to clarify, or check in the rules. As it was in the same game week it should do (?) as points are deducted at the start of the following GW
