The Dugout Discussion – West Ham United vs Southampton

After Saturday treated us to eight matches and 29 goals, we have just a solitary fixture to focus our attentions on today.

West Ham welcome Southampton to the London Stadium as Slaven Bilic attempts to halt a run of three straight Premier League losses.

Both sides chalked up EFL Cup wins in midweek, yet while the Saints saw off Palace to rack up a third successive victory in all competitions, the Hammers had to rely on a last-minute free-kick from Dimitri Payet to see off Accrington Stanley.

With a pair of assists in each of the last two Gameweeks, the Frenchman has been in fine form since returning from injury.

Nonetheless, Payet has remained overlooked by many Fantasy managers due to the form of Michail Antonio, who has netted five times in four since being moved onto the flank.

With his defence in disarray, Bilic will be relying on that duo to get the better of a Saints side that have picked up a single point in their two road trips so far.

For the Saints, Nathan Redmond remains their most popular FPL asset despite a four-match barren streak, though Dusan Tadic is the form player heading into this one, having served up an assist in each of the last two Gameweeks.

      superman raised a good point a couple of pages back, which was bottomed. good chance sanchez is a doubt for game after international break as he plays in chile just 3 days before game vs swansea. just something to bear in mind. i still think i want to get him though

    Did anybody see Chelsea-Arsenal? How did Fabregas do? If he can get a spot in the first 11 then he would definitely be worth a punt as he is only 7m.

      Poor finishing from Southampton to be honest. Should've been more. Tadic owners unlucky, Fonte and VVD were beasts. Payet quiet and Zaza ineffective.

      It was arguably the most comfortable win of the season so far. WH were pretty impotent, Southampton I thought were very good.

      Yep wrong to bench Chadli in my opinion. Wait to see what happens tomorrow I guess but bench Capoue all day in my opinion. Bournemouth no slouches at the back either.

        I am still worried about Walker. My instinct is Holebas, Williams and McAuley to be honest but Walker is in such good form and as you say, attacking returns.

      I'd get rid of Antonio I think. The team seems to have deep rooted problems and, despite his form, he was played as RB in today's match later on. Plus Liverpool can't stop scoring and their fixtures look good. That said, Firmino hasn't be scoring that much despite being played as a lone "striker"

          just unlucky I think..Smith and Negredo the only real 'worries'..Haz and KDB should probably be moved on, definitely the latter if you've gain any sell value on him

    Heaton + Foster, bith have bad fixtures
    Baines Shaw Flannagan Friend McAuley at the back

    Ibra holding up funds, no Arsenal, the "wrong" Liverpool mid

      i'd leave it a week at this stage. you'll get more use of it then. i think heaton with bad fixtures is a decent option, i'm thinking of getting him in even. maybe a AOA on cards

    Help please should I :

    A) take a 4pt hit to get sanchez, transferring out hazard and zlatan
    B) take a 4pt hit to get sanchez, transferring out baines and hazard
    C) hazard to ozil on FT
    D) hold transfer to have 2 FT after international break

    Haz, cout, bolassie, capoue
    Zlatan, aguero, benteke
