Fantasy Chili Bowl – Captains Announcement

Welcome to the latest update from our brand new American sports themed competition, the Fantasy Chili Bowl, in which teams from the Fantasy Football Scout community battle it out to earn a place in February’s grand final.

The 24 captains for this new community competition have been chosen, as well as the team names.

The captains now have until 11:59pm UK time on Tuesday 15th November to submit their final squads of six. The captains are free to recruit their players however they want, so keep an eye on the comments section below from captains who are on the lookout for players. Alternatively, you could post a comment below saying you are looking to participate, which may catch the eye of a recruiting captain.

Key Dates

Saturday 12th November – regular season draw (to determine which teams will be in which of the four conferences)
Tuesday 15th November – Final deadline for squad submissions
Wednesday 16th November – fixtures will be released
19th November to 19 December (gameweeks 12 to 17, not including gameweek 16) – regular season fixtures
Weekend of 14th January (gameweek 21) – Play-off quarter finals
Weekend of 21st January (gameweek 22) – Play-off semi finals
Weekend of 4th February (gameweek 24) – The Texas Chili Bowl (the grand final)

    The top 2 from each conference will qualify for the play offs, where in the quarter finals a conference winner will be drawn against a conference runner-up from a different conference. This draw will take place shortly after the league phase finishes.

    All squads of 8 need to be submitted fully to the FCB mailbox by 11:59pm UK time on Tuesday (15th November) - any team failing to do this will be instantly disqualified.

    Fixtures will be released alongside the official squads for each team when the 24 squads have been confirmed.

    All this info will be emailed to the captains in a few minutes.

    As a member of the Hawaaian team I hereby apologise for our team's lack of bantering. The banter chief has had internet problems and is still on his first banter draft.

    I have not been assigned a banterous role but rather my job is to make the cups of iced tea and clean the buckets and spades after sandcastle time.

    While you boys scrabble around for your scraps, Team New Orleans is preparing for the Mardi Gras to end all Mardi Gras in celebration of our glorious victory!!

    I have to say, looking at the group we'll take great pleasure in bringing down the giant douche who now resides in Washington DC. Then we'll build our own wall round New Orleans to prevent their lot coming to Mardi Gras.

    A request to the FCB committee
    I request the FCB committee to keep the deadline for submission of team sheets every week on Saturday morning or Friday evening (when the Gameweek deadline is on Saturday). Plenty of press conferences take place on Friday and sometimes we get important news regarding players' fitness, like this week we have Sanchez, Hazard, Costa to name a few. Then the captains may need to reaccess their teams.

            The deadlines will be on Saturday once all teams press conferences and team news and injuries are known.
            You are right. Others will make you react but you need to reply to the better ones and ignore the others

            Even Rasping Drive has made a similar request below.

            Mark himself asks the FFS users, whether to publish the Scout Notes or keep the Stock Check, and whether to publish the Knee Jerk on Saturdays etc.

            Sess made a detailed request to Mark in August regarding the number of posts on the FFS site, and Mark considered his request.
