Dugout Discussion – Liverpool vs Stoke City

Gameweek 18 rolls on this evening as Liverpool welcome Stoke to Anfield in a 5.15pm kick-off.

Owned by over 21% of Fantasy Premier League managers, Sadio Mane’s home form suggests he’s the man most likely to wreak havoc against the Potters – the Senegal international has scored or assisted in six of seven Anfield appearances since arriving from Southampton over the summer.

Divock Origi, with goals in all but one of the last five Gameweeks, retains his starting berth, with Jurgen Klopp set to unleash Daniel Sturridge from the bench once again.

Roberto Firmino also keeps his place as he attempts to end a run of six straight blanks.

For the Potters, Joe Allen is the form player – he’s bagged a goal and assist in the last three Gameweeks as he prepares to face his former club for the first time since moving to the bet365.

Between the posts, Lee Grant has produced at least one save point in each of the last four and should be kept busy again as the hosts look for the win that would see them leapfrog Man City into second.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

You'd be essential if you played Pool next.

Haha, do they look that bad ! not able to watch the game unfortunately...Will have to wait for MOTD. How to get Aguero back without destroying my team is a challenge many others are faced with too I'd imagine.

Who would you sacrifice though...I have cash tied up in Sanchez, Costa, Ibra....None of them seem like options to me given form and fixtures !

Grant clean sheet here would be ideal. Pieters playing OOP in this 3-5-2 formation. Everyone trying 3 at the back now - Chelsea, West Ham, Everton, Stoke.

    Damn - Firmino almost scored.

        Grant

On wildcard. Got the front 8 sorted but stuck on defence:
      Pickford Heaton
      Alonso Pieters *Mid?* *4.1?* *Wba*
Sanchez Hazard Wally Zaha De Roon
      Ibra Costa Anichebe

      Any defensive suggestions appreciated

That Stoke team isn't half bad, but I honestly find it hard to believe that Crouch and Walters keep Bony and Bojan on bench. I understand why they do, though. Walters in particular, he's a work horse, something you can't say about Bojan for example. He's a fecking fancy show pony.

But sometimes a show pony will put you 3-0 at home to Arsenal.

Bony is the laziest player I have ever seen. If a match was slowed down like the Matrix he would do well.

Yeah. kinda tried to say that Walters is a starter because he actually plays better than the others, while nobody would dispute that by their skills he's the worst of the lot.
