Dugout Discussion – Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

After Harry Kane and Dele Alli ran riot at Vicarage Road, we now make out way to the Emirates as Arsenal entertain Crystal Palace in the final fixture of Gameweek 19.

With Theo Walcott ruled out once again due to a calf complaint and Mesut Ozil sidelined with illness, all eyes are on Alexis Sanchez to deliver after a number of captaincy contenders turned in some disappointing hauls.

Certainly, a big performance from the Chilean would have a significant effect on the overall Fantasy Premier League standings – he’s been handed the armband by 11.5% of managers.

Arsene Wenger’s decision to retain Olivier Giroud up top means that Sanchez looks set to start on the flank once again. Despite failing to notch at home to West Brom last time out, his underlying stats still afford us optimism – Sanchez registered more goal attempts and efforts in the box than any player in Gameweek 18.

With Wilfried Zaha looking set to depart for the African Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast shortly, we’re monitoring the form of Christian Benteke and Scott Dann and looking for signs of improvement under new manager Big Sam as the Eagles prepare for some promising fixtures from Gameweek 20 onwards.

    Just have a few concerns over Sanchez, wondering what you guys are thinking. Is giroud starting up top now and if so will this affect sanchez' output negatively. If it does, is he still worth his valuation? Thoughts? Also how did he play today?

    Got Costa and ibra and not planning on dropping either. Got no free transfers and not planning to do a hit so will make transfers after deadline.

    I've got Anichebe as 3rd striker but don't know what to do with him, should I:

    A. Keep, bearing in mind I've got smith and Barragan and jones and Allen as rotation risks, and do smith to Ake
    B. Swap to Barnes, and get rid of Siggy for Sterling or Philips to upgrade defense
    C. Swap to benteke and downgrade Siggy to de roon/Fletcher
    D. Swap to aguero and downgrade hazard and Siggy to de roon and Phillips/Stanislas

    Still not certain about the last 2 but surely Foster can keep some CS with a nice run of fixtures?

    Pogba seems to be getting better each week but could Lallana be a better option if I already have Ibra and no Liverpool cover?

        Both tbh. Has calmed down a little last few weeks and Chelsea have some tough fixtures coming up. That being said, Hazard does have these "explosive" moments so it could come back to bite me.

    I've just read that Swansea might consider selling Barrow as he has a relegation clause in his contract which would see his selling fee be reduced to £5m. Essentially, they're thinking they can cash in now and get a higher fee. Safe to say the higher ups have no faith in the team staying up at all.

    And then they wonder why the club is toxic. 😕
