The Big Numbers – Gameweek 18-20

Next this Saturday, we catch up on the member’s area statistics over the last three rounds of fixtures with our usual post-Gameweek article.

We assess the lay of the land at Arsenal as a result of Olivier Giroud’s first-team return before analysing Tottenham’s man of the moment and Manchester United’s pair of form players.

West Ham and Everton also play a part in our thinking ahead of some fine upcoming fixtures.

I can't believe this news, I got him in this week for Cedric....Fuchs to Cedric to Ake, rediculous. I really hope he plays for Chelsea but can't see it given how solid the team have looked (Spurs defeat the exception).

    RMT

Just transferred in Hazard to Alli for free as I couldn't ignore Alli's goals any longer

    Heaton

    Alonso Ake Baines

    Lallana Sanchez Alli Phillips Allen

    Ibra Kun

    Subs Jako/ Lorente/ McAuley / Amat

1.8 million in the bank.. in 2 gameweeks when I have 2 FT, I could then go Lorente/Allen to Barnes/Coutinho. What do you guys think?

That's true. Eriksen's game does seem to be slightly more bonus friendly too. Alli's been getting into the box more than Kane lately though.

look at Eriksens previous seasons. He got ten goals once, so yea he might equal that or get 12 if he is lucky. Alli is set to get like 15+

I had exact cash to move Cedric to Ake and Carroll to Giroud for a hit but only made Ake move at the time due to uncertainty over Giroud game time....Seems rediculous in hindsight, I'm now .1 short.

So....Bring Stanislas in as a 5th mid and play a 3-5-2 or wait until next GW, downgrade Capuoe to raise funds and take a hit to get Giroud on board?

In summary, would you rather have Stanislas for the next 3 fixtures or Giroud for the two home games after Swansea. Both options mean taking a hit.

He looked great the other day and his stats are awesome, also note that when he got subbed thats when it all went wrong for Bournemouth. Coinicidence? I think not

Yeah but will they increase, that's my question. Listed as injured with 75% chance to make it now? Is this something that he has had for long or just a knock in the last match?

        2. Wilshere Knowledge
          • 10 Years
          7 years, 3 months ago

Well there's still Ibe (who looks out of favour), King can play wide, they could play Wilson and Afobe together, drop Wilshere back and play a CM out wide.

'Nailed' is unlikely, but he could become first choice. Ake out simply removed Smith as a RM option, who had been playing there regularly.

              • 10 Years

I wouldn't recommend Giroud, personally. Him getting some goals has been masking some abysmal performances.

Perez, Walcott, Iwobi and Ozil all good, form options to support Sanchez as striker.

              1. Camp No No
                • 10 Years
                7 years, 3 months ago

Hmm... I don't know about that abysmal. He was quite silent against Palace, but other than that he's been fine.

The problem is the chance of benching, but come on, Walcott and Perez better form than Giroud? I understand that they are options and Giroud may be rotated time to time with Perez or Walcott on, but that Perez would be preferred and Iwobi/Walcott more in form is a bit harsh.

They of course are an option if Wenger wants Sanchez back upfront, but right now I don't see why that he would. Arsenal was doing awfully for a while, carried by luck and Sanchez's form. And now their game is going much much better, they are really deserving the wins they get.

And when you look at it, it's not that Sanchez had got worse by moving to flank. He has both taken and created more shots, and more good chances, since moved to flank, possibly because Giroud pulls the defenders with him which leaves Sanchez more space. It's only that he has suffered of bad luck recently, or some would say that he's just been misfiring, but I'd say that there's a definite luck factor for example in his misses against WBA and Palace, where he took 17 shots but 8 out of them were either blocked or hit the woodwork.

Not sure how bad his injury is? Fantastic player but is very injury prone. Stanislas is the better FPL option imo as he has started every game when fit and Fraser is far from nailed.

      1. Camp No No

I dunno. Fraser seems more efficient (per minutes) and also 0.3 cheaper, which is crucial here.

Unlikely to be fpl shattering but apparently Hogan (Brentford) to West Ham in and Feghouli (to Roma) are close.

Whatever happened to signing Bacca or Lacazette?

Thoughts on using my FT this week? 2.4 in bank

    Heaton
    Alonso - Coleman - Holebas
    Hazard - Alli - Lallana - Phillips
    Aguero (c) - Zlatan - Origi

    Jaku - McAuley - Fletcher - Amat

Thinking of doing Origi > Giroud. Only worry is Sanchez, but I could only get him in for Hazard and that would mean keeping Origi. Maybe I'm being silly continuing to ignore Sanchez, but doing well inside top 10k.

I was looking at some of the top players in fantasy the other day seems they all use the same tactics. They all have highish squad value about 105mil due to them all doing 2 transfers a week so -4 every week pretty much. And about 26 total transfers so far, ignoring their wildcards. By the looks of things all they do is jump on any bandwagon if someone scores two games in a row or gets a big haul and instantly drop anyone who doesnt perform. Doesnt look that hard to be honest, boring mind you

    1. Numb

Yeah, jumping on every bandwagon and taking hits seems to be the best approach this season. Wakey has been doing well with it.

      that's nonsense essentially.

well things are changing fairly rapidly, so maybe that's the way it was leaning last week. point is though, imo, that there's no real strategy that's working this year, all a bit of a lottery 🙂

Loftus cheek costs 5.1 in fpl and is wanted on loan at Swansea, watford and middlesborough. Whats his best position? He was playing an attacking role for chelsea last season didnt he?

Always saw him as a B2B. A rounded player without excelling in any one particular area.

Hiddink did play him more advanced, as a 10 or second striker.

I personally think Ake is being recalled as backup

Yes, he is playing regularly at Bournemouth but he has done well. Conte has limited backup at LCB so rather than going out and spending money why not recall Ake.

Also he provides an option at CB in the fa cup games (if they progress).

He gets to train with the first team and conte gets to learn about him. Likely Terry or even cahill will be there next season so this is a good time to learn about him as a player.

I think he comes in for Dave.

Conte will have noticed that Spurs targeted him aerially.
