Overthinking? It’s what we do – don’t dare ask us to stop.

Particularly now that our heads are swimming with thoughts of blank and double Gameweeks. All those variables, all that planning and strategising: we’re in our element.

Once again, thanks to another bout of community questions, Jonty and Andy join me for another ScoutCast dominated by chatter surrounding our tactics and transfers approaching the missing fixtures.

We break off to nominate the new Premier League whipping boys, while we ponder whether to proclaim Sigurdsson as “essential”, revisit Coleman vs Baines and assess whether the blanks are reason enough to be rid of Alexis Sanchez.

For my money, that’s one decision that requires very little thinking.

        Haha cheers! Ozil won't play 26 and probably won't play 28. Some tricky fixtures as well. Can get away with a bench of cedric, Sanchez and Ibra in 26 if I get Ozil out.

          Hull are looking better defensively and city defense still isn't great. It's closer than you think when it comes to goal scoring odds. Swans have less of a chance to score loads of goals than pool but Siggy is more involved in goals and in good form. I would do the move.

    I know Carroll doesn't blank in GW28, but for that he needs to remain fit + Palace next 4 GWs look more tempting IMO.. can't decide!

    Sam Byram an option as a Phil Jones replacement.
    4.2 and looks to perhaps be first choice now. Think West Ham are headed in a better direction now, City loss aside.

        I'm not throwing total caution to the wind. I can sell Aguero after Bournemouth (say for Lukaku) and bench Jesus for Gw27's fixture v Sunderland.

        It probably means I won't have 11 for GW28 but so long as I have a good captain option, I'll be happy.

            Yeah I'm thinking of covering a little for the blanks, although I have value tied to Heaton, Alonso, Sanchez, Alli, Ibra, so I wouldn't like to sell them and then want to buy them back with such a higher price.
            Out of the non-blanking gw28 teams, I would consider Antonio, A.Carroll, (Snodgrass if he performs), Jakupovic, T.Carroll, Llorente.
            Is there any point of switching Baines to Coleman, or is it just coincidence that Seamus is doing better lately?
            Also, I think Chelsea after the Arsenal game will do well, so if Ibra blanks again tomorrow I could turn him to Costa, should I?

                no point in Baines ---> Coleman. just keep Baines.

                i wouldn't swap Ibra for Costa.

                we need to see the results of the 5th round FA cup games before we can figure out the best course forward
                for week 28 and beyond.

                  First of all, thanks a lot for your time to answer! 🙂

                  As the 5th round draw is set, I guess we won't have many other options to choose, unless huge upsets happen.
                  It seems really weird for Premier League teams not meeting one another at all in this phase.

                  Having in mind that Arsenal, Tottenham, ManUtd and ManCity have one more competition to cause fatigue to their players, the possible rotation they'll do because of this, Chelsea's more consistent results and points difference from the 2nd-6th pack, it seems very easy for the blues to become the new champions.
                  That's why I feel Costa will score more points than Ibra.
                  Also by having Costa instead of Ibra I save 1 million, I won't have rotation issues as I have now that I have Pedro and I can transfer out Pedro for someone like Sigurdsson/Mane/Walcott.

            Yea I would sell him to Siggy but that would just end up with benching Siggy. Benched Crouch this week so that 9 pointer hurt (4 goals en 2 assists in his last 5 btw) and Phillips was very close as well.

    What to do with Lallana:
    a) keep (its Hull!)
    b) > Eriksen
    c) > Antonio
    d) > Siggy

    I have no other Swansea, WHU, or Spurs players (Rose, injured) and I already have Firmino. Likely losing value on Lallana tonight.
    Leaning towards keeping, as a spare transfer could be really helpful with blanks coming up. And its Hull!
