FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Results and Fourth Round Draws

Ahead of this weekend’s fourth round stage of our two Premier League cup competitions, we look back at the events of the previous clashes and some of the most eye-catching match-ups.

Mark is now the only surviving former winner in our open to all cup after seeing off tkmlim 72-65 in round three. He next faces What Divock?!, who defeated reigning champion A Manager Has No Name.

Joining him through the exit door is Wild Rover, who was crushed 90-70 by the contest’s highest-ranked manager 50th-placed pitstop1.

The unlucky boss to next face pitstop1 is The Shaman, who is ranked just 373,401.

Another former winner to fall was Donnellyc, who was dispatched by Who Divock Is Origi.

Joining Mark as other representatives of our live Hall of Fame top ten in the next round are Dronny Imp (aka David Meechan), whose score of 92 was enough to beat Jurgen Can Karius and set himself up a match against Quinntessentials.

Another elite manager to prevail is My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg), who scored 89 in his victory over Prophet and next takes on Donnellyc’s conqueror Who Divock Is Origi

The full fourth round draw can be found here.

In our Members Cup Fenghh, who beat former winner Trigg in round two, makes it through to the fourth round after defeating 2,208-ranked christian steinbauer.

But things do not get any easier for our 36,596-placed giant killer as he now faces the competition’s top-ranked manager Hana, who is 170th in the world.

Elsewhere in the round four draw, community regulars RoysCallerAnne and Dr Ennet face each other, with the former’s 829 rank making him the favourite over his 19,528-placed opponent.

There will also be a community writers derby when Career Hall of Fame analyst TopMarx takes on Kryten, who has written extensively on bandwagons and the effect of European cup involvement on Premier League teams. With a rank of 13,069, compared to Kryten’s placing of 27,609, TopMarx is the slight favourite for this battle of the scribes.

The full fourth round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

100% set on Bench Boosting GW37.

Now that the remaining DGws have been announced, when is best to use TC and on who?

    Ibra 34? Sanchez 36?

With the fixtures I think it going to be Kun for me

Surely there is no reason to rest players in week 37? (all the more reason for pep to do so?)

Yeah, I take that on board.

Just think with a tired and under strength Leicester team this weekend, then a DGW before Burnley (home), it's good value.

    Afternoon all

Like many I have the Sanchez dilemma for the next GW. I could have sworn that Arsenal were meant to have 2 x DGW the first being for GW 34 but I am wrong?

    Here's the team:

    Heaton, Jaku
    Valenica, Holgate, McAuley, Mee, Pieters
    Sanchez, Sterling, Allí, Zaha, King
    Jun, Lukaku, Llorente

    Options:
    1. Sanchez and Llorente --> Kane and Son
    2. Sanchez and Llorente---> Ibra and Son
    3. Sterling--> Eriksen
    4. Something else!

Any thoughts would be most appreciated! 1FT this week so options 1&2 would be for a hit.

Oh, got it... If you have a WC, I would do A. Otherwise save.

Kun to Kane is an option if interested

Think I'd do Kun to Kane ... not sure I'd take -4 to ditch Sanchez. Feels like a pivotal week for transfers..

      3. looks good to me.

I would hold sanchez for now. There must be a backlash after last weekend. They are still a good team after all.

May be nothing wrong with captaining him either but that maybe a step too far.

      Something Else.

McAuley Mee Pieters > Ward/Bailly whichever gamble takes your fancy. Both have doubles and plum fixtures after this week but the ward move would be for this weekend too so may be a (-4) if doing 3 also.

  8. No Pirlo No Party
    • 14 Years
    7 years, 1 month ago

    Heaton
    Alonso - Valencia - Cedric - McAuley
    Sanchez - Alli - Eriksen - Sigurdsson - King
    Lukaku

    (Pickford - Llorente - Amat - Anichebe) - 2FT - £2.7 ITB (All chips and WC)

    Thoughts on the above?

    A) Siggy + Llorente ---> Kane/Zlatan/Costa + Cheap MF (around £5m)
    B) Downgrade defence?

    1. Carlton P
      • 8 Years

      Sanchez + anichebe > zaha + kane

Looking ahead to gw36/37, no chips, DGW players in caps (sorry) 🙂

    .8m itb. Current team is

    Jaku // Grant
    ALONSO // BERTRAND // VALENCIA // Mawson // Holgate
    ALLI // SANE // Coutinho // King // Zaha
    AGUERO // ZLATAN // KANE

There's no reallistic chance of getting more big hitters and both Zaha and King have a great fixture gw37 so two free transfers to get Arsenal keeper and Wally for gw26 a good idea or any better suggestions? Arsenal can't get much worse. Ta

When to TC if you have all your chips left, and want to BB in GW37:

If (Sanchez GW36 TC benefit - Ibra GW34 TC benefit) > (Points benefit of GW36 WC - Points benefit of GW35 WC), then GW35 WC and TC Sanchez GW36, otherwise GW36 WC and TC Ibra GW34.

I would lean towards Ibra TC for GW34 and defo BB for 37. Maybe if Sanchez gets it together, he could also be a great shout, but it seems like he and Arsenal aren't jiving so well, so I'd be nervous to rely on him. Ibra seems in good form. Better than Sanch, anyway.

GW 33 Aguero > Kane done!
GW 34 options are (still have WC so Alonso would be back in GW36):

    A) Alonso, Origi > Barragan, Ibra -4
    B) Alonso, Siggy, Origi > Valencia, Zaha, Ibra -8
    C) Evans, Siggy, Origi > 4.0 (5th def), Zaha, Ibra -8

    GW33 and GW34 transfers

    33. Llorente -> Benteke (free)
    34. Baines + Costa -> J. Ward + Ibra (TC) -4

Leaves me with 5 for DGW 34. Valencia, Benteke, Ibra, Valdes, + 1 def.

WC 36, BB 37. Happy to play CP assets in 35 at home to Burnley.

If you want to take a risk just captain the guy.

I had contemplated sanchez Llorente to zaha kane earlier in the week but glad I resisted now.

      I did do

      Pedro > zaha instead.

If you want to take a risk captain him. That is better than taking a hit and then captaining hoping to make up ground when all we ever achieve is covering the hit in the first place.

It's also about the player price. Sanchez looks to drop tonight and might drop once more before the next gameweek. I know we shouldn't be woried about TV this late in the season but with WC coming up for Gw 36, the extra 0.2 might come in handy.

        1. HashAttack

I had to sell him for the same reason ... I got Hazard in and now I can buy Sanchez back for gw35

Apart from this week's drops, Ars do not play until Monday so there are likely to be at least one additional drop before you see how he plays ... and Haz is going up

I should have got rid after the palace game as the delay cost me 100K in s/v ... I reckon it would have cost 500k to wait until Mon night .... a lot of sv if you are wildcarding

Ibra 2 games in 34, on pens, with Arsenal lost to CP, United still in with a chance at 4th, he will start both as got his "Mings red card" rest, so think he is the safest play. Lukaku and Kane have explosive potential but Ibra could easily match Aguero 9 from GW27 with two fixtures.

    a) Deeney --> Benteke save a FT (Rival owns Benteke)
    b) King --> Zaha
    c) Sanchez & Deeney --> Zaha and Kane
    d) Ibra & King --> Kane and Zaha
    e) Sort Koscielny (Any news?!)

Any input *more* than appreciated. Cheers in advance.

Boring non DGW chat. Does Sanchez, Origi to Zaha, Kane leave my midfield a bit lacking for the next 2 GW's?

Alli, Siggy, Zaha, King (De Roon)
    Kun, Kane, Lukaku

How many GW 27 Aguero Captainers would stick or twist given the option (assuming a BB in GW37) ?

Wasn't happy at the time but feel, retrospectively, that the chips have been more valuable in previous years with the way the DGWs have fallen this season. Maybe his score wasn't awful after all ..

Definite twist. Only needs one goal from a midfielder to beat him

Today's fixture news mean gw36 is best to wildcard with bench boost in 37? Or do people have other ideas?

          1. MTPockets
              7 years, 1 month ago

Depends. I should probably have wildcarded weeks ago, so perhaps even now is better than later. But held so long may as well be 36.

Would appreciate a little help... feels weird having 3.5m ITB and contemplating saving my FT... anyone see any obvious changes here?

            Grant - Pick
            Alonso Pieters Holgate Funes Valencia
            Alli Zaha Walcott Siggy Eriksen
            Ibra Carroll Luk

Still have W/C to play in 35/36... should I do something about Funes (I can just bench him), or Carroll?

            Any tips greatly received!

Without doing the maths, Carroll & Siggy / Walcott --> Kane & ?? would tempt me this week. Someone cheap who you bench this week but doubles next week.

If it's the only transfer you're making this week, don't think I'd wait. Leicester to be knackered and under strength with the 2nd leg next week.
