Dugout Discussion – Spurs vs Man United

A day of goals and points aplenty ends with the main event as Spurs host Manchester United in the final fixture to be played at White Hart Lane.

A momentous day for the club, it’s unfortunate for Spurs and for owners of their key Fantasy assets, that the result is somewhat academic.

While Mauricio Pochettino’s men will look to provide their supporters with a fitting sign-off, they will need to lift themselves following the Gameweek 36 reverse at West Ham and Chelsea’s title-winning triumph that followed.

Fantasy managers will be hoping for a quick revival.

Dele Alli and Harry Kane head into the tea-time kick-off owned by 33.8% and 20% of FPL managers respectively, while Christian Eriksen is still found in 18.6% of squads. Kyle Walker also remains the top owned defender (30.7%), although he again misses out today with Kieran Trippier preferred at right-back.

For Kane, there should be no need for extra motivation. He will not only seek to score the final goal at White Hart Lane, he is still giving chase to both Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Golden Boot. He his currently level with Arsenal’s Chilean on 21 goals, trailing the Everton striker by three.

Kane has seven goals from his last six starts but has yet to score against visitors Manchester United in six attempts.

Jose Mourinho’s side arrive to present another line-up influenced by their Europa League campaign. The United manager makes predictable changes following Thursday’s hard-fought 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo as Wayne Rooney starts, along with Anthony Martial in attack.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

79 points and crawling from 8k to 5.7k! 12 players to go if they all play. What to do with this team for the weekend?

    Cech
    Alonso - Yoshida - Clichy
    Haz - Alli - Sané - King - Alexis
    Kane - Gabbiadini

    Bench: Pickford, Benteke, Stephens, Gibson.

My thinking is Coutinho for Alli/Haz (if info that he won't start). Not too happy about Gabbiadini due to rotation risk either..

Yeah, thought about it. Not too sure not that they secured their spot.. Maybe not a bad idea just to play Benteke either? United probably playing their reserves on Sunday..

      Gabbi to Origi?

Or just play Benteke and go Alli > Cout

How many of my DGW players get a start this midweek?

Cech, Willy; Alonso, Vert, Stephens, Yoshida; Hazard, San(C)hez, Eriksen, Sane; Jesus, Kane, Gabbi

I think Hazard and Alonso are the biggest bench risks, followed by one of the SOT defenders and Sanchez due to injury. Sounds like Gabby will start after what Puel said.

Coutinho, Vardy, or a Chelsea player who is unlikely to be rested (Alonso?)

Wow this -8 has worked wonders

1 point off my rival. Just need a couple of his players to flop now...

Having only got 4pts today I was pleasantly surprised to see I only dropped 2k places and sit at 11,400. Had expected to be outside top 15k.

Anyone sticking the TC on Terry next weekend? Last home game for Chelsea at the Bridge. Goal, CS and 3 bonus inbound?

Ha! Worth a punt with nothing to play for 😛

I haven't got my TC anyway; wasted it on Aguero on the first DGW!

      Well, lets be positive.

How does the OR ranking system work. I see that a lot of people with the same scores have different ranks. Is this sorted out at the end of the season?

Same scores are worked back on numbers of transfers

So? Same scores: the more transfers you made the lower your rank? Or do they reward making extra transfers??

transfers lowers your rank ... all those hits and they think you still get an advantage

            Thanks hash that's something I didn't know.
It makes sense. I always wondered how other with same points as me where above or lower.

I'm guessing the team news for the Chelsea Watford match will be updated before the game tomorrow night? I'm interested to see what the predicted line up is on here.

Already updated by the looks of it.
But their guess is as good as any. Tricky guess work indeed.
