The Big Numbers – Gameweek 1

Time to roll out our first post-Gameweek delve into the 2017/18 members’ data and assess some of the stand-out performers over the opening round of matches.

Tottenham’s top scorer misses chances aplenty as the transfers-out pick up pace. Man City’s front two and Liverpool’s summer signing from Roma arrive for analysis, while Chelsea and Palace’s left wing-backs also make the cut thanks to forward-thinking performances.

Own Tadic & Willian so has to be Zaha -> Ramsey right?

Agree. In front of a back three he could be more free to do his dangerous, late arrival, runs into the box

Could be Zaha to a non template solution such as Richarlison or Walters and bank the change

I have Trippier and can't seem to figure out when he will be back? Should transfer to Ben Davies before his rise tonight? Or will Rose be replacing him once he has been "punished" for his bizarre statements

I see people are looking for 7.0m replacements for Zaha/Fabregas and West Ham's Ayew is being overlooked. I think he's quite a good pick despite West Ham's opening game performance, a differential as well.

I'd pick Walters ahead of Tadic. Or Mooy, or Richarlison, or Brunt, or Fraser, or Matic, or Phillips, or Knockert, or Ince, or Ritchie, or Albrighton (i could go on).....

      I'm contemplating C but I feel it's a bit backwards.

Atsu has never been consistently proven and seems like a bit of a live wire to me, unpredictable.

I went C. Not thrilled about it. But I think Mikhi will outscore Ramsey et al by more than Ritchie will Atsu. Plus I get the price rise tonight. Atsu can be benched also, which takes some of the sting out of it.

Could well back fire! All it takes is Newcastle to get a couple of pens.

This is likely Willian's last week given that Hazard has returned to training today, right? Almost makes me want to jump on Ramsey for the weekend, Spurs can surely hold Chelsea to 0 or 1.

Supply and demand just like everything related to economics. Websites that track price movements even show u the target (of managers buying or selling) that needs to be reached in order for the price movement to occur.

    Near bottom of last page...

    DDG / Elliot
    Kompany / Monreal / Stephens / Mee / Rosenior
    KDB / Salah / ZAHA / Fraser / Carroll
    Kane / Lukaku / Abraham

Obviously Zaha has to go & it's either Mhki in for a -4 or a downgrade to someone like Mooy.

For the Zaha > Mhki move I have to free up 1 mil somewhere, so:

    A) Fraser > RLC
    B) Monreal > 4.5 ... who?
    C) Kompany > 5.0 ... who?
    D) DDG > Foster ... don't fancy it much.
    E) Abraham > 4.5

Looking to do the transfer tonight, to be honest.

I'm doing A tonight, but I like D too (I already have Foster). C is decent too - I can't do it because I would like to keep Kolasinac (for Yoshida, Jones or Dawson). Keep Monreal as a Trippier placeholder.

Mooy's stats from the Championship are poor. He looks a quality player but not really an FPL player, IMO. More of an assisting the assister type. Although Mounie will help. Worth a punt if you don't want Mkhi badly enough.

Thank you. I think I'm going to go with C to Yoshida. Double-up is a risk, but if I am ever going to do it - now is the time. Early days but Yoshida looks better than Stephens; I'd like flexibility to switch.

I agree with Monreal as my Trippier placeholder. It's the only reason he's in my team at the moment & I will want to switch back.

Happy to hold onto DDG for now, with the good fixtures. If United become slack at the back, I can easily downgrade.

B Davies is nailed for the time being (until rose fit) and price will rise soon.
Other popular defs are Komoany and Kolasinac
TBH I think you've overspent in defence...

Then you definitely over spent in defence. Get a 4.5 DEF (e.g Mee, Lowe, Suttner) this week for your least preferred of the two. Then start bolstering your mid and attack with that 2m+

There's a chance Milner will play as Henderson dragged off in CL.

Many of the options were only really viable for a few weeks, or not safe for starts. Tadic had 7 touches in the box last week and plays fairly high up the pitch. Think he can get a few returns over the coming weeks.

I'm in bit of a jam. Need to take out Zaha but can't decide who to replace him with. My mind is stuck between four players : Ince (6.0), Mooy (5.5), Gross (5.5) and Atsu (5.0). I would have chosen Ince without thinking it twice if it wasn't for te money factor.

For the record, I started the season with three big hitters in midfield (De Bruyne-Alli-Salah) and Zaha. In that order I only chose one of Lukaku and Kane (fortunately, the belgium) and go with Jesus and Gabbiadini upfront to join him. Set up a pretty cheap defence too (Yoshida and Aké as my more expensive players). The idea was to get very strong performance in midfield and take shots with a budget defence and a budget 3rd striker (playing the fixtures game).

I really thought Zaha could return big points and be the key factor of my team budget wise, alongside Jesus-Gabbiadini as a differential duo for the start of the season. Well, as you know it, that didn't go to well, even if I did okay during GW1 (69 pts). But now, since I don't want to take a hit, I am a little bit stuck with Zaha's injury. Downgrading him to a cheaper midfielder seems the most wiser move, but that will kill my 4-perfect-midfielders idea (which led me to ignore Kane and premium defenders in the first place). While I don't think there is another 7.0 that's worth considering a season keeper.

So the better move to marry my july idea would be bringing Mkhitaryan. With no money in the bank and no time to wait 2 FT due to price rise that would involved a hit and a Jesus or Gabbiadini downgrade. First of all I absolutely don't want to take a hit. Second I want to trust both Jesus and Gabbi for a little bit longer. So that's out the window, and there comes my july idea downed in tears.

The second option could be to free up enough cash (1.5) transfering out Zaha to upgrade Gabbiadini to Firmino next week. But is it so wise to bring the brazilian just before he faces up against two top teams like Arsenal and Man City ? Anyway, in that case, Mooy, Gross and Atsu would be the only viable options. Bringing Ince (which I rate more) would only help me upgrade my defence (TAA -> Trippier GW3).

So I really don't know what to do, will appreciate some feedbacks and new ideas.

Let's go for Ince then, easier.

What i think you should do is sell Gabbi for a 4,5 and replace Zaha with Eriksen. Eriksen played very well for Spurs this week and will be involved in a lot of Spurs goals this season.

    Tadic.

Seems to get lots of props here. Streaky player at best, and not streaking at present. Can't fathom why he'd be recommended....
