Dugout Discussion – Brighton vs Newcastle

Sunday’s solitary fixture gets underway at 4pm as promoted pair Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United square up at the Amex Stadium.

With many now filling their forward lines with premium frontman, we get the chance to run the rule over a trio of budget midfielders today.

The Seagulls’ Pascal Gross has played a part in all four of his side’s goals so far, serving up two goals and a pair of assists in his last two outings.

He was the second top transfer target for Gameweek 6, with over 381,000 transfers in.

For the Magpies, Matt Ritchie has bagged four assists in his previous three, while Christian Atsu’s goal and assist over his last two starts has also turned heads.

Indeed Ritchie and Atsu, along with team-mates Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba have been subject to heavy investment over the last week, with a combined 783,000+ transfers in.

Newcastle number one Rob Elliot is the most owned player for Sunday’s clash, sitting in 23.7% of squads after conceding just once in his previous three. Yet he is the most benched player in the Gameweek, with over 808,000 naming him among their subs.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Needs improvement on midfield maybe aguero to morata otamendi to mee and Brady to silva like you said or even downgrade grob to rlc so you can upgrade Brady to a better mid like alli eriksen mane type

not like that sort of talk personally. You could not want to WC after GW7, and then you're stuck with 2 players you ,might not want long term

tis smart to be fair, but I don't like planning WC's too much. Just like WC'ing when I suffer multiple injuries/suspensions in one GW. But if you are dead set on WC'ing GW 8, then those 2 moves should pay off and I would go for it 🙂

Still languishing at 1.7m after another slightly better than average week. Thinking of the following moves. Bit of a gamble with the Arsenal game and other games this week, but there's a 0.3 swing if I leave it a few days and I'm in the mood for a gamble.

    GW7 team hopefully:

    Fabianski
    BDavies Jones Simpson Kola
    Miki Atsu Eriksen
    Kane(C) Aguero Morata

    Subs: Elliot, Carroll, Chalobah, Mbemba

Just did Firmino Ramsey to Morata Atsu... I know there is UCL and I would have liked to do them after GW7 but I was gonna be priced out.

Now plan to rotate Miki with Salah and Eriksen with Mane in the following weeks...

They are good enablers, although next week's fixtures are not good. You could bank the FT, or maybe switch Jesus to Vardy or Chicharito, who is only 7.0 and has a very run of games coming up.

I think Kane - Aguero - Vardy is a heavy enough strikeforce in a 3-4-3 so not too keen on Morata unless I lose either Kane or Aguero which won't be happening but for gw8 tempted by Mkhi to Pedro

Will give me a front 7 of below but no United cover, thoughts?

    Salah Silva Brady *Pedro
    Kane Aguero Vardy

Managers with double/Triple spurs assets should really be worried about next Fixture. A CL game follwed with an early fixture, that screams rotation and a possible start for Llorente.
I have Kane, Eriksen and Davies and it does not feet good after what poch did at the swansea game.

      Are you serious?

They play on Tuesday which will be fine.

      Also, Davies had a knock.

      Not if you own Trippier.

Serge will play CL due to suspension
