FFS Cup

Fantasy Football Scout Cup – Entry Now Open

Fantasy Football managers may well be cursing the impact of the FA Cup on their seasons, but we’re hoping that our 16th Fantasy Football Scout Cup can help add some welcome cheer.

This Fantasy Premier League Cup competition will take place over the over the run-in, a period beset by blanks and chips. To add a further twist and to prevent teams entered specifically for this tournament, we are ruling that all entered teams must have been registered for FPL in Gameweek 1.

Once again there are £300 in prizes on offer.

Sign-up can be found here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name, Sleepysi and our new reigning champion, TH14.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How does the Cup Competition Work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 29, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 30.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday March 5, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

How do I enter?

Enter via the entry form here.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

You entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team Id as part of the process.
To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The list is here.

Please note that only teams that have been registered with FPL for Gameweek 1 will be eligible for the competition.

How do I find my FPL team Id?

Your FPL Id is your unique Id for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL id field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after March 5 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

The competition will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule, though this could be subject to change.

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 29
Round 1 – Gameweek 30
Round 2 – Gameweek 31
Round 3 – Gameweek 32
Round 4 – Gameweek 33
Round 5 – Gameweek 34
Round 6 – Gameweek 35
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 36
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 37
Final and third place play-off – Gameweek 38

When are the fixtures released?
Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

The first round draw will be made and published shortly after March 5.

Prizes

Overall prizes
The prizes for the cup are as follows:

1st Place: £150 Amazon voucher
2nd Place: £100 Amazon voucher
3rd Place: £50 Amazon voucher

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

So Arsenal v Man City now goes ahead.

Anyone else think Arsenal could be in for a long night next Thursday now?

      City wheels to fall off.

      Basel to score 5.

      City to win nothing.

      Perhaps.

It is now much easier to have a team that is good for GWs 34 and 35.

League One - The greatest league in the world! (TM)

    Juventus 2-2 Spurs
    Rochdale 2-2 Spurs

So Rochdale (bottom of League One) = Juventus, one of the best teams in Europe. Think how good the other League One teams must be then!

And now Wigan > Man City.

On a serious note, I'd decided on a GW35 Free Hit usage to maximize the two DGW options. Does this result make this course less appealing?

It's still the best option imo. Would've been more appealing if City had a blank in 35 and double in 37 but still a better time to use it than GW31.

That's my thinking. BGW35 with no FH surely limits DG34 options. Pity about this City result then. Would've had more impact otherwise.

It's almost as if trying to get the Premier League's Under 21 sides to play against us in competitive games is complete rubbish

I'm not so sure. Could be a trap with the league already won.

Hehe I have barely 5 players for BGW31

I may as well just pick the players I want like Leicester spurs and arsenal next 3 GW and simply FH in 31...

Glad I didn't start bringing the dead wood into my team, valuable FTs will bring the good stuff now instead

    FH still best for GW35.

City likely to play in it (once Swansea don't make the Semi's) but then don't double in GW37 so not needed long term.

Is it not now conceivable that Arsenal v Man City scheduled for TV on Thurs 1st March (GW28) gets moved once again ? This time to GW31 seeing as both Arsenal & Man City blank in GW31 as both their respective opponents (Brighton & Leicester) are still in the FA Cup.

Am sure both clubs, both sets of fans, police and tv coverage would prefer a weekend game.
