An unceremonious defeat at the hands of League One Wigan may have scuppered Pep Guardiola’s quest for a legendary quartet of titles but Manchester City’s Premier League form has been as strong as ever.

After sweeping five goals past Leicester in their final fixture before the FA Cup break, City have now found the net an impressive 79 times this season – a full 18 clear of their nearest rival, Liverpool.

With five attackers – Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, David Silva and Sergio Aguero – all past the 100-point threshold in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), City have clearly proven themselves to represent our most reliable source of regular Fantasy points.

As 19,000 delirious Wigan fans discovered on Monday night, however, there is a marked difference between City’s form at home and on their travels.

In this latest Technical Area article for members, we will put this under scrutiny, with particular reference to the merits of keeping faith in Man City’s attacking assets.

    I see no point bringing in Firmino, being as Quaner and Wilson have BGW31 fixtures, so who to sell for Mane? J Lings or Gross?

    Plus Otamendi>VvD or roll the 2nd FT again?

      On current form Firmino is likely to score more points v West Ham this weekend than Quaner is likley to score from GW 28, 29, 30 and 31 combined.
      Don't give up on decent players from GW 28-30 just because you've a player who's a BW player, and who will likely only get you 2 points in GW31 anyway.
      Plus Firmino is a BW player anyway, even though that's incidental.
      Maximise your points for gws 28, 29, 30, 32, etc. The points in gw31 aren't worth any more than normal.

        You don't think I'm better off selling my blank players (Lingard/Gross) for Mane for double Liverpool attack and retaining two players who may well play (Wilson/Quaner)? That was my thinking.

        Mane is a nice differential I think.

    Remember Robert Snodgrass? Was a great pick when he played for Hull. He was shafted after transfer to West Ham and how he is getting pulled off after 60 for Villa in the championship. Sad slide. His free kicks are immense

      He's the 7th best scoring Championship FPL mid.

      Hes played 60 mins 23 times and only played less than 60 mins (as a sub) 3 times.

      With 6 goals and 9 assists in 26 apps Id say thats not bad going tbh.

        Clearly his stats are good, but he was producing in the prem not that long ago. He could easily slot back into one of those squads and I was merely highlighting he was roughly treated by the Hammers

          Aye, I think he's PL qualilty and was ruined at WHU as they bought too many players in that position. If Villa get promoted then hes straight in the team.

    With my goalkeeping situation should I go Mane over Firmino.

    Was initially planning:
    Dcl and Son > Firmino and Stanislas -4

    But now it’s easier to get Mane in for a -4

    Hennessey and Son > Pickford/Foster/Lossl and Mane -4

    Or should I wait a week and do Dcl and Son move then whilst a keeper change this week for free?

      remember quality over quantity!
      Don't waste good players in the next 3 GWs just because they have blanks in 31 so you can get some bad goalkeeper who gets you 2 points. Would do something like:
      Hennessy > Schmeichel/fabianski and son > eriksen/mahrez

    Anyone like me who has already used the FH chip, but still have the WC/BB/TC left...How are you looking to navigate the blanks? I'm guessing GW31 is fine because we can ship them out on GW32 WC, but GW34/35 is tricky as need to cover blank teams and double teams. Any suggestions?

    I honestly don't have the time or patience to trawl through all these gameweek permutations but if I still have my free hit chip is it best to load up on players who don't play in GW31, play my hit for that week, then enjoy having all those players when their double gameweeks come up?
