Monitor – Romelu Lukaku

After starting our series of members’ articles on Wildcard targets with a look at Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, our sights turn to another in-demand frontman.

With Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero currently nursing injuries, Romelu Lukaku’s recent resurgence has not gone unnoticed by Fantasy Premier League managers.

Three goals and a pair of assists in the last five Gameweeks, allied with a trio of strikes over four cup outings in the same timeframe, means that the Man United striker is the second most bought player in FPL ahead of Gameweek 32.

Following a barren autumn period, Lukaku seems to have stepped up his output following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

With two double Gameweeks anticipated for the Red Devils, can the Belgian claim a place in our frontlines for the run-in?

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    DDG - Fabiasnski
Alonso - Vertongen - Morgan - Lowton - Van der Hoorn
    Salah - Mahrez - Son - Willian - Kenedy
    Lukaku - Auba - Barnes

Sterlingor Son not essential for now. get back in for 34 if you want. Get a second keeper and upgrade defence with the cash.

Smalling a risk when Jones returns.

Interesting point re Son not being essential. While his fixture this week isn't ideal, I'd argue that he is essential to the extent that I wouldn't want to use a change bringing him in next week (when he has an excellent fixture), when that could be used to ensure 2FTs ahead of the first (likely) DGW

He's in my team. Not buying into the "don't pick a player with a less than perfect game when on WC" mentality. It's not a FH - there needs to be some thought as to the coming weeks

Fair enough but City fixtures are worse and possible rotation so lose Sterling for now instead seems the best option.
Certainly better than a 3.9 keeper for BB

Each to their own. I think going without a City attacker is folly. Sterling the third top scorer in the game, even with rotation (and that annoying injury the other week).

He has two double game weeks for sure but only one extra game than Firmino and with Liverpool's fixtures and free scoring plus the fact that every man and his dog has Firmino , I think you need him to save rank if nothing less.

If they lose so many times to CPL at Anfield then it definitely does make them bogey team. And CPL 3 wins in last 6 vs LIV have come at times when they really needed the points to stay up same as this time. So when CPL put that extra shift they are more than equal to Liv as past has shown

Won't go near Lukaku for now.
But 37 might do if he shows some form. Kane will need to be in then too.
So something like Salah Firminio and Auba
    To fodder Kane Lukaku
    Leaving Vardy Kane Lukaku
    Up front
And then Salah back in for 38 could be nice
Going have to see how many hits involved though.

They will, but inevitably the games will clash with each other - 10 games over 4 evenings means maybe that two that were originally set to be televised on a Saturday at 12.30 and 5.30 pm may now only be available for broadcast on the same night ... that is why they may be shuffled around and 35 blanks could go to GW34 and 31 blanks to GW37

I'd guess it's the TV companies arguing, then the councils, then the police.

This happens every year. Why the hell a proposed date for announcement is set but actually announced 2 weeks later I don't know.

The guys above are probably right, TV companies are probably the reason.
I don’t know if this is even correct but the PL games will be set for midweek, so Sky will want to show them, although if that clashes with CL games, BT will kick off

They have to ask every single fan of all clubs, as they always moan that they are never consulted.

That explains why it’ll take some time then.

Have we had any official word on when the fixtures will be confirmed?

I have a sweetspot for Maguire because he was the differential that won me my ML last season 🙂
