The ScoutCast – Episode 255 – Wilder

Wildcards are very much active among the ScoutCast crew, and while only three of us make this latest episode, all five are in play ahead of the Double Gameweeks.

Not surprisingly, our rebuilding programme dominates the discussion as Jonty and Andy join me to reveal our current squads and our chosen strategy leading into the remaining seven Gameweeks.

In an exhaustive and in-depth episode, the three of us also look back on the success of the Free Hit in Gameweek 31. Then we attempt to offer a balanced view on the variety of chip tactics from this point on, with a team-by-team analysis of the player targets to consider.

We fail miserably of course, with our own bias no doubt shining through, though the conclusion is an uplifting one: whatever your chosen route with the chips to Gameweek 38, we will all win out in the end.

Unless you don’t have your Wildcard and Free Hit, in which case you’re now consigned to spending the next two months behind the sofa and hate us all anyway.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Good morning.

Just a couple of issues before 32. Should I:

    A. Bench Shaquri or Walcott
    B. Captain Aubameyang or Lukaku

      A. Both wont do anything but I went for who plays at home and benched the other

      B. I'd go Auba myself.

Think I'm pretty much there lads. WC with all chips left.

    Ryan DDG
    Alonso Smalling Robertson Lowton Morgan
    Salah Son Mahrez Willian Gross
    Barnes Aubama Vardy

2.3m itb for Aubama > Lukaku or Kane and possibly Robertson out to a double.

    Solid thinking?

Lol I could have a stonger side with 2.3itb but tbh I'm struggling. Going to need some of that money for Lukaku anyway and the remaining means I could do something with the 1.3m spare.

Possibly Robertson > Christenson/Rudiger/Baily/ Vert..... But Chelsea/Spurs play each other and I can't really understand the Baily hype, bloke played about 20min of football this season.

        Open to ideas?

Apart from gw34, how essential is it to have a United gk/defender? FH34, BB37.

Ederson/Fabianski rotation with DDG in FH34 gives:

    Main goalkeeper: Ederson
    GW33 goalkeeper: Fabianski
    GW34 goalkeeper: DDG (Free hit)

eve, wba, WBA, bou, whm, (HUD, BHA, bou, SOT) sot.

Slight concern about Ederson rotation by Pep - but he is chasing the Golden Glove.

Not essential but how much money does that actually save you on DDG/Ryan?

As I'm BB37, absolutely no need for Brighton players in my team.

Going for dgw players in 37 with good fixtures/rotation between now and end season.

Every WC team has him and you will just lose massive ground on the others.

            Thanks.

But using the strategy above, I still get his first dgw - and arguably also better fixtures between now and the end of the season.

Fair comment about his ownership though. Although I guess the fact that I'm BB37 indicates I'm not too fixated on going with the majority.

Last chance to finish WC team as busy, what do you think? BB in 34, FH in 35.

    DDG - McCarthy
    Alonso - Vertongen - Fernandez - Lowton - Morgan
    Salah - Mahrez - Son - Willian - King
    Lukaku - Auba - Murray

0.0 ITB. Can get Kane with Murray, Willian and Son to Kane, 2×4.2 mids or Murray, Son and Alonso with 1 4.2 mid and Chilwell.
    Good luck everyone!

I have been on Cook but he will get 4 points then you'll probs want King for GW37 which could even be a hit. But if you get King he gets 2 point and no transfer. Plus save that vital 0.1.

Interesting on a wildcard where you see the real benefit in a good team value.

Listening to the scout cast I’m 0.4 short of even picking the same team as Mark, whereas he has 0.9 ITB.

That is a fairly big swing in points potential with the chips in play. Well worth a few strategic 4 point hits early in the season

If you think miki is nailed could be a good differential
      If and could...
      Your call
I am with Son's form and taking my risks elsewhere in squad but good thought

If Kane is back how's this for a move for 34... Walcott, zaha and Wilson to Kennedy, gudmunsson and Kane for a -4?
Unfortunately means holding onto them for a couple more weeks though....

    All set?

    DDG - Ryan
    Alonso - Bailly - Mustafi - Lowton - Morgan
    Salah - Son - Mahrez - Willian - Gudmundsson
    Aubameyang - Vardy - Murray

    bank: 0.6

and then Mustafi & Auba ➡ DGW defender & Lukaku (C) for the DGW34 when I am BB-ing

Best option for the next 2-3 gws?

    A) Mustafi & Gudm/Barnes
    (Mustafi ➡️ 4.5m def to enable Kane/Kaku in 34)

    B) Dunk & Groß
(Groß ➡️ Gudmundsson to enable Kane/Kaku in 34)

    C) Dunk & Gudmundsson
(Money in the bank for Kane/Kaku in 34)

Looks like everyone else's if you think that's a good thing. Solid enough

Please could this week just end so I can stop looking yet again at my WC team?

    Template WC really

    DDG-Ryan
    Lowton-Alonso-Mustafi-Morgan-Stephens
    Mahrez-Sterling-Salah-Willian-Son
    Aubameyang-Vardy

    Change anything?

Add a third striker would be a good start. I'm guessing Barnes or Murray?

    Is Chilwell too risky?

The 0.1 saved over Morgan ‘should’ allow me the dosh to do Auba + Mihki > Kane + Lingard in 34

Could save money elsewhere by downgrading Alonso or Ryan ..... but I’d rather not

I won't be popular here but i think dragovic has some games to play for Leicester this season in the place of both Morgan and Harry Mac.Leicester are desperate for 7th place and europe
They need to buy dragovic for next season to take over from Morgan but dare not drop him yet.
Chilwell is poor and not nailed
Leicester defence overall not reliable- remember early goal conceeded to wba
So in all this flux i would look elsewhere
