With so many RMTs and GTGs (good to go) on site, we’re collecting them in these RMT Community Articles.
Site regular and moderator RedLightning has here given us his team, and some explanations of his choices. Feel free to comment on his team.
This is also a place for you to post your team, and please respond to a few others while you’re at it!
Mods have been alerted and will spend some time on these pages responding, but this will work best if you help out others as well as getting responses.
RedLightning’s Squad
Fabianski – Patricio
Robertson – Mendy – Alonso – Walker – Wan Bissaka
Salah – Mane – Richarlison – Jorginho – Stephens
Aguero – Arnautovic – Jimenez
My GW1 squad was a bit different. If I had asked it to be RMT’ed in advance of GW1 I would probably have been deluged with replies of “too much spent on defence” but I don’t agree – elite defenders offer excellent value.
I’m very happy with this squad as it stands and it should be good for a few gameweeks, so I’m not yet planning any specific changes to it, unless events such as injuries make changes desirable; after that, fixtures will need to be considered.
I will be hoping to keep my wildcard till at least the second international break, by which time we should have better information about who is fit, playing and in form and who isn’t.
I avoided players from teams that had reached the Quarter-finals or Semi-finals of the World Cup, apart from Mendy, and many of them are not yet back to full match fitness, but some of them (such as Sterling, Alexander-Arnold and Pogba) could soon come into consideration.
This squad will normally play in 4-3-3 formation, but it has the flexibility to sometimes vary from that (such as in GW1, when it seemed a bit risky to play both Man City defenders away at Arsenal).
Goalkeepers
Rotating 4.5m goalies. Fabri also rotates well with Fabianski, but I have more faith in Patricio and Wolves. I did consider de Gea as a stand-alone, but needed to make various savings in order to afford Mane. I also considered having a 4.5m stand-alone, but had 0.5m spare and this seemed like the best place to spend it.
Defenders
4 elite defenders (not just premium, but the best that money can buy) plus Wan-Bissaka as a magic bean. I will probably bring in a United defender for one of the other elites at some point. Bailly was actually in my draft squad as a 5th elite defender until his injury doubt, but I wouldn’t want to leave WB out now. It was a difficult choice between Alonso and Azpilicueta, but I expect them both to outscore the cheaper Chelsea alternatives. Alexander-Arnold may be a good alternative to Robertson.
Midfielders
Salah should be my regular captain, Mane and Richarlison should be regular starters, and Jorginho may occasionly come in as a 4th mid. There are no midfield magic beans to compare with Tom Carroll and Loftus-Cheek last season, so the bench-sitting 5th midfielder was a difficult choice. I was on McDonald for a long time, but then changed to Stephens at the last minute, not even giving me time to change my bench order. I would like to bring in Sterling at some point, but that will involve getting rid of one of my other City players. Neves, Jota and Fraser are also on the watchlist.
Forwards
Aguero could be an occasional alternative captain. It was a toss-up between Aguero and Aubameyang, but the deciding factor was that I may want to captain Aguero in GW5. Zaha could be a good alternative to Arnautovic. Jimenez was the best forward available at his price.
Conclusion
Thoughts? Suggestions? Should I save? Who should I look to bring in? Feel free to let me know in the comments!

Ederson,
Janmaat, Davies, Tomkins
Sanchez, Salah, Mane, Jota
Tosun, Lacazette, King
4.0 - WanB, Peltier, Hudson-Odoi
Plan this week was to do Sanchez > KDB but obviously he's now injured. What do you think about Sanchez & King > Bilva & Vardy for a -4 hit?
