Why Mark has played his FPL Wildcard for Gameweek 3

We can reveal that Mark Sutherns has played his Wildcard for Gameweek 3 of the 2018/19 Fantasy Premier League season.

Joe spoke to him in the latest episode of ScoutCast Extra Time on Friday afternoon to find out his reasons for hitting the button and making a raft of changes.

Mark explained that a lot of his decision revolved around how volatile the transfer market has been since Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.2m) hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

With managers all over the world chopping and changing Mark was faced with a situation where several of his original assets were facing price falls, and those he wanted to replace them with were going in the opposite direction.

Joe made the case for sticking with Mark’s original Gameweek 2 team but it will definitely be an all-new line-up in Gameweek 3.

      A. Haz_ a set and forget Chelsk asset and to have a 5th of Kante's calibre means you forgo their defence this season if you can swat the Alonso bandwagon as it's a given Chelsk will be "we score more than you team" this year.

      He could score a hat trick at Home to Brighton. Why get rid? Because Mane has scored more in the last two weeks and that means he will always do that and Firmino will never score again.

      As Internal Error said.
      When we play a low block system Firmino drops a bit deeper to structure a diamond formation and has less attacking output. He helps out the midfield to help the team as a whole. I’d make the move.

        You´re spot on, but what we cannot foresee is how the game will pan out, if it´s an early goal it could be a goalfest and then Firmino will albeit being positioned lower in the field most likely participate in the goals as well. Fantastic footballer but not always the one you want in your fantasy team, just the team you support in real life (YNWA)

        thx. could be just me but it feels weird without having kane salah and aguero on my team as i think those 3 will score big over the season and got 2 premium defenders, but still got my wc if something unecpected happens.

      yes you have a good team but having all three makes you less flexible, if say a 8-10m mid arises, you will have problems, and you can´t without selling one of them do anything in defence if say a new 6m defender is wanted. Every time you will want a pl ayer above the bracket you have you will be forced to get that difference from either one of the big hitters. What if you want a 5m defender, what do you do? If you want Arnie or Zaha?

    So my team required major surgery with Sanchez, no premium defs (who have been scary to watch), Bobby F., King and Jota. My WC is below. Any comments most welcome. I had Mkhi but am unsure given some of the line ups posted by Arsenal fans on their forum, nobody seems that bothered by him. I've never had much joy owning in the past either, so have upgraded my bench instead.
