Top 10k managers wait to pile in on Spurs assets

Gameweek 14 could be the calm before the storm, as the season template is more dynamically evolving now.

Fantasy managers only have one month left to use their first Wildcard if they still have it, and many were waiting to unleash it for the busy December period.

As the figure show, so far 79.39% Wildcards have been used in the top 10k, which means we can expect to see more than 20% more deployed in the coming month.

Probably many of those will be played within the first week of December to capitalise on the nice run of fixtures awaiting Spurs and Arsenal.

The percentage of Wildcards in Gameweek 14 though is as low as 1.4% but that’s still the most common chip used this week.

The Wildcarders this week seem to have overlooked Spurs assets, with the focus being to bring in as many Manchester City attackers as possible.

We see that Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane are among the most selected players in Wildcards this week. To be able to fund this wildcard team, it seems like Mohamed Salah is the scapegoat as he moves out of the most selected Wildcard team.

However, Salah is still currently owned by around 60% in the top10k, and with more wildcards coming next trying to fit many big hitters, whether to keep him or not is a question to think about. Salah has got only 7.27% captaincy percentage this week as there are a plethora of big hitters with nice fixtures. Aguero leads the way with 50.38% then Sterling and Eden Hazard come second and third with 23.57% and 11.46%.

This splitting between top 10k managers could prove vital to rank changes this week as the three main captains all actually have some rotation risks looming around them.

The effective ownership this week is split too with Aguero the only player with bigger than 100% effective ownership of 131.53%

Aguero: 131.53%
Alonso: 83.61%
Hazard: 76.15%
Robertson: 72.72%
Salah: 67.2%
Sterling: 66.82%
Arnautovic: 64.7%

Meanwhile, despite the impressive win against Chelsea, Spurs assets are still not very much owned yet among the top managers. Harry Kane is actually the Spurs player with the most effective ownership of just 2.85%.

Arsenal players are in the same boat with Alexandre Lacazette (3.17% EO) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (2.98%) being their most owned players. The two teams actually face one another in the most important derby this week but will have favourable fixtures in December.

How much their ownership is going to go up in the coming weeks is yet to be seen, but many big hitters (Salah, Hazard, Aguero etc) might be on borrowed times in top 10k manager teams if they keep underperforming given their high prices.

    Not feeling the Kane love.

Is he no longer playing like a midfielder? If fixtures are the reason, then I've been burnt really hard the last time I brought him in (cardiff)...

I enjoyed Kanexit last year, NOT and didn't bring him in for that Cardiff game...

Thinking about it, and I can only speak for myself, I would rather have him and he blanks than not have him and he hauls, geezer can go nuts at anytime and is looking slightly better than back when Spurs played Cardiff...

Will be watching the game very closely this week. I think either Kane or Alli/Son will be coming in this week. Tbh it fits my structure better to get Alli/Son in but if Kane makes himself essential this week I'll have to get him.

Do you think taking Kane from GW17 is better idea?

Have a thinking he will miss either home vs Shmapton in 15 or Leicester in 16... as Spurs have a hectic week with a vital Barca away game

Really depends on funds used elsewhere.Lloris is 0.9 over fabianski and if fabianski gets clean sheets across his easy run could get scores like 9 or 10 but lloris has got baps this season when they have got cleans too.Bw the 2 as set and forget

Plan on picking up Paterson next GW to free up funds for some other moves. Would you drop Fraser(Already have Wilson and they still have rough fixtures) or Richarlson(Will give me more funds than Fraser)?

I have Fabianski as a set and forget and can confirm the 10 pointer won't happen 😀

But I agree, you need a lot of luck if you plan to rotate goalkeepers - missing out lots of unexpected hauls (Fabianski vs. Chelsea), and expected clean sheets that don't materialise.

      1. Pierce34
        • 8 Years

That's why I never rotate, the points are never guaranteed and I always end up needing that extra 0.5.

    hello DZ...

early thoughts on my current team, should I wildcard?

    Fabianski, Foster
    Alonso, Robbo, Doherty, Yedlin, AWB
    Sterling, Hazard, Sane, Richarlison, Stephens
    Aguero, Arnie, Jiminez

    1ft, 0itb.

Why would you wildcard that, I must ask?

planning to wildcard either this gw or next to get change my players a little.

e.g. Hazard, Yedlin, Kun, Foster should be out of my team soon!

Ah, what the heck. If you feel the need, then go for it. I always argue, after all, that anytime is a good enough time to go WC. And I don't wanna be tellin' peeps what to do. Kun out seems a bit premature, though, I must say. And Yedlin has great fixtures coming for the next 5 or 6 or so, in which case you may want to reconsider on that.

I know Kane vs Soton looks entincing but they basically have 2 days gap between matches this week and boxing day. Plus After Soton and lei they have all imp Barca match in 3days. Wont kane benched to be fit for that and Llorente get start especiallybafter Poch said he will rotate his players

His game doesn't rely on pace. He actually seems as slow as you can get and still be a premier league player.

      Doesn't need to get rotated.

I'm not convinced on any Spurs players, despite their fixtures.

Son - has not played 90mins all season and up until last week had not scored a goal.

Alli - his playing time has been sporadic and until last week had scored once

Eriksen - playing again sporadic and until last week had registered just 2 assists and no goals.

Kane - has scored goals and playing time is way more stable but not the money I'd expect more. Yes fixtures are good but considering he has played:

new, FUL, wat, bha, hud, CAR, whu, wol, cry and managed a total of 42 with nearly 1/3 of those points coming from the hud game.

During those figures he managed to average 4.9ppg. He's also unreliable as a captain pick.

There will be some behind the sofa moments but I think I'm risking it

You seem to be looking extremely selectively for your points.

Son has been away on international duty. Didn't used to regularly get 90 anyway and with Moura certainly has more competition.

Alli has been coming back from injury.

Eriksen has been coming back from injury.

You know what Kane can do and what his nailedness is.

I understand your point of view and good luck going without them (I think I'm only going to get Alli), but would weigh up the extenuating circumstances with them.

I will try and reply to each of your comments, however you have been even more selective with your data by deciding not to use any.

Son - agreed Son played in the Asian Games but that finished on 1 September. Since then he has played less than 400 mins out of a possible 810. Those 400mins have been spread across 7 games.

Alli - I agree in part with your comment although he was fully fit for the first 4 games and managed just over 4ppg

Eriksen - I agree in part but again he was fully fit for the first 6 games and managed just over 3ppg. He got 2ppg for playing over 60mins in each of those games.

Kane - I know what he can do but I've yet to see it, he just hasn't performed and for thst money I'd want someone I can captain but he's far too unreliable. I agree he's nailed.

I do agree Alli is the best of that group but defence will be the only assets I'll be bringing in.

Yeah I agree on everything, just subjective and whether you reckon the upcoming fixture run and long term quality of the players in question can shine through.

Should be interesting- more template busting about.

      Yeah.
I hope that kun gets off after 60 and play's next match too !
Don't trust any spurs assets, haven't picked one all season.
They are very expensive and should prove this year as good options imo.
Maybe keeping kun is the way to go and if rotated i am planning to do kun+kamara >> Laca+Mitro

Just saw the scoreline...wolves beaten by Cardiff too, I guess time's up on wolves defenders

Who to replace Patricio ,Doherty with I'm thinking Digne

Very confused on Who is the best GK to get in sub 5.0m range, any suggestions ?

    1. JohnnyMagrinho
        5 years, 5 months ago

        Depends.

Wolves defenders have more or less represented basically best value for money so far this season.

Doherty has 2 goals and 2 assists and some clean sheets. I get the feeling Wolves will keep enough clean sheets to warrant owning someone like Doherty for that factor combined with his attacking potential.

I think, however, the concept of ever doubling up on Wolves defence was always a bizarre tactic. Very high-risk and certainly not enough reward. But for £4.8m I don' know how you can go wrong with Doherty - he's an absolute steal and nothing to really suggest he wont still represent value for money in future gameweeks.

Not really sure what more you can expect out of any defenders

        1. JohnnyMagrinho

The end of my comment was deleted as it had a less-than symbol.

Would agree with this. Bennett seemingly nailed on at 4.0 is good fodder. Patricio seemed good at the start, but we all got carried away with their early form.

          Why Doherty ???

I chose Fabianski a few weeks back. West Ham not keeping clean sheets but he gets save points sometimes unlike Patricio.

Keeping Doherty at 4.9 with 62 points is a no brainer.

I have Pat too and just been looking at the sub-5.0 list. Fab is the most owned with the most saves but has only kept one cs all year. A gk must have the ability to play in a team with a chance of keeping cs so that rules him out.

I think it comes down to Hart, Ryan and Hennesy.

Hart makes a lot of saves but not many cs. He does get bps though.

Ryan and Hennesy look very similar. Hennesy has good fixtures now, has already kept 4 cs and gets bps. I might plump for him.

Team for this week, plan to WC GW16, is it worth it?
        Patricio (Button)
        Robertson Alonso TAA (AWB)(Doherty)
        Sterling Hazard Mane Dilva Fraser
        Wilson Arnie(Kamara)
1ft and thinking of Patricio to Ryan/Fab as one week punt.

I am really put off by Kane's deeper lying role this season. For 12 mill plus, he needs to be scoring a lot bigger than what he has.

I would wait till he shows some goalscoring form.
