Chelsea trip to Watford largely unaffected by festive rotation

The final game of a bumper Boxing Day Fantasy Premier League schedule is largely unaffected by Christmas rotation.

There had been fears that Marcos Alonso (£6.9m) might lose his place as Chelsea travel to Watford but he has been named in the starting line-up.

In fact, Blues manager Maurizio Sarri has made no changes from the side that lost 1-0 to Leicester just days previously, keeping faith with his key men.

It means another stint on the bench for Olivier Giroud (£7.7m) with Eden Hazard (£11.0m) leading the line as false-nine once again, flanked by Willian (£7.3m) and Pedro (£6.3m).

Even the midfield trio of Jorginho (£4.8m), N’Golo Kanté (£4.9m) and Matteo Kovacic (£5.8m) was left undisturbed by Sarri, despite a few options for rotation.

Meanwhile, Javi Gracia has kept faith in the front two who punished West Ham in Gameweek 18, Troy Deeney (£5.8m) and Gerard Deulofeu (£5.4m) leading a Watford side lined up in a 4-4-2 formation.

Watford XI (4-4-2): Foster; Holebas, Kabasele, Cathcart, Kiko Femenia; Pereyra, Capoue, Doucouré, Sema; Deeney, Deulofeu.

Chelsea XI (4-3-3): Kepa; Alonso, Luiz, Rudiger, Azpilicueta; Kovacic, Kanté, Jorginho; Pedro, Willian; Hazard.

    A) Laporte -> Shaw/TAA/Digne
    B) Sterling -> Hazard
    C) Both for a hit

    Thoughts? Appreciated

      Keane had some impressive stats for goal attempts from headers around that time- it wasn’t a stupid move, just unlucky

    Bottomed and looking for some advice:

    Help, 35 points this GW with a Digne first sub not coming in (unless Anderson doesn’t play, very unlikely ) 2FT & 1.6itb who would you prioritise getting in to stop this rot?

    Fab button
    Alonso Digne Doherty Robbo bennet
    Sterling sane Anderson Richarlison Mctominay
    Kane rashford mitro

      B, taking money out the defence is the theme. Liverpool premiums only providing value in that range now.

    Shocker of a GW yet again with no Salah or Hazard. Do you think that Auba and Kane are too much upfront?

    If I ditch one, poss Auba due to Kane’s fixtures I could press on for a power 5 in midfield plus bolster my defence;

    Current team
    Fabianski
    Alonso lovren Digne
    Sane Pogba Martial Richarlison
    Kane Aubameyang Ings

    Subs; Hamer Wan B Bennett Hojbjerg

    Made 2FTs already on -4

    Keep both or let one go?

    1. Lionel Ronaldo
      • 8 Years

      Great team. I'd monitor Alonso/Aubameyang and downgrade if required to get Salah/Hazard.

      As you're already on a minus 4 leave for now. It may also help who to let go after this week between Kane/Auba in 2 gameweeks time.

      I'm in a similar situation though not with your striker issue. Mine is a structure problem however.
      I think you should get Salah in as soon as possible without hits though. His fixtures don't warrant -4's. I need to do it too but I'll have to get money from other mid-priced mids and Alonso.

    Fabianski
    Alonso Robbo Laporte
    Richo Sane Hazard Son Anderson

    Doherty's five fixtures: Spurs, Crystal Palace, Man City, Leicester, West Ham.

    Digne's five fixtures: Brighton, Leicester, Bournemouth, Southampton, Huddersfield.

    So, Doherty > Digne...?
