Maddison overcomes injury doubt as Pereira starts in defence for Leicester

James Maddison (£6.6m) has come through his injury doubts to start for Leicester against Crystal Palace this afternoon.

The central midfielder was yellow-flagged before the game following comments from Claude Puel in his Thursday press conference.

Maddison starts in the number 10 role for the Foxes as their run of appealing fixtures gets underway this weekend.

Ben Chilwell (£5.0m) was not as fortunate as he missed out on a place in the matchday squad through his knock.

Christian Fuchs (£4.1m) makes just his second start of the season at left-back.

The wide attacking midfield slots are occupied by Harvey Barnes (£5.5m) and Rachid Ghezzal (£5.0m) while a recall for Jamie Vardy (£8.8m) sees Demarai Gray (£5.4m) drop to the bench.

As expected, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.6m) sits out for Crystal Palace, covered at right-back by Joel Ward (£4.3m).

Further up the field for the Eagles, there is a first start for Michy Batshuayi (£6.5m).

Leicester XI: Schmeichel; Fuchs, Maguire, Evans, R Pereira; Tilemans, Ndidi; Barnes, Maddison, Ghezzal; Vardy.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita; van Aanholt, Sakho, Tomkins, Ward; Schlupp, McArthur, Milivojevic; Zaha, Batshuayi, Townsend.

Any thoughts on getting Kane or does it mainly depend on Brighton getting through in FA Cup?

I think kane will score, he's fresh got a proper rest after almost a year (since last injury) And he is the reference point to his team.
I think for the last 6-7 gws he will be a good "differential"

Would it potentially be an option for me to bench boost this week instead of saving it?

    My current bench is:

Fabianski (mci), Bendarak (FUL), Richarlison (car), Jiminez (hud). No one else I want to bench ahead of these guys.

Current strategy is FH32, WC 34, and then BB 35 maybe. No TC left.

I think my bench apart from goalie has potential for good points this week, and not bench boosting in GW35 means I can focus on 11 strong players with a standard bench, rather than trying for 15 DGW players just for the sake of it.

    Thoughts?

    Rest of team is

    Pat
    Robertson/Doherty/Pereira/Laporte
    Salah/Son/Pogba/Hazard
    Rondon/Rashford.

    1FT

    Thanks

If you had some City attack, I'd say yes.
Outside Salah, your attack has tricky fixtures.
Looks a nice bench but Fulham probably score.

Southampton finished eighth in the PL and got to the league cup final under Puel (their first final in 13 years), sacked Puel and now they're fighting relegation. Leicester were 14th when he took charge, they are 12th now. They are in a period of transition, trying to adapt to a more possession based style of football and simultaneously looking to bring through younger players. To sack him now would be foolish imo.

          Strange comment.

Kane is back and so Son isn’t going to be the main man anymore.

Plus it’s a tough fixture and there just are better alternatives out there and moving forward you can’t expect Son to keep up his form.

Spurs are way too inconsistent too.

            Same with Kiwi

            1. Spurs lost to Sarri's Chelsea in the cup semis without Kane. Won 2 other fixtures with Kane. Kane sitting back could mark Jorginho, would expect Son to exploit.

            2. Tough fixture, but this Chelsea never look great against the big teams. Spurs have a day extra.

            3. Son outperfomed his xG immensely 2 seasons ago. 7.8xg 14 goals. i think he's a better player now, so there's more room to improve imho. Probably the 2nd most dangerous player in Spurs.

            4. The question is whether to ditch him, not to buy him. looking at fplstatistics trend page, most are trading Sterling for Son. Seems a little rash,.

It's a plan for GW 31...not getting this week..but this week transfer will depend on this hence asking

Either kun or sterling by giving up auba and jota...so if I get kun I'll get Higuain for 31 and hazard for sterling similarly

Surely you're not selling Jota vs Hudd?

It makes sense to get some MCY attack for the next 3, but it's hard to justify getting Sterling over Hazard/Mane given the blanks:

      Sterling (WHU, bou, WAT)
Hazard (TOT, ful, WOL, eve, WHU)
Mane (WAT, eve, BUR, ful, sot)

Yeah, but planning to FH32 and WC34, so only looking at 28-31 & 33

As a Kosc owner who assumed he was a write off for Southampton and maybe Bournemouth this gives me a glimmer of hope

What would you do with this lot?

      1ft 0.7itb

      Button
      Alexander-Arnold - Doherty - Jonny - Bednarek
      Salah[c] - Hazard - Son - Pogba
      Aubamayeng[vc] - Rashford

      Fabianski - Anderson - Peltier - Kamara[*]

0.1 short of Son to Mane.
Save or any thing else obvious to do?

That's annoying being 0.1 short of Son -> Mane.

Son -> Sane would be the high risk move, but I've been burnt there too often so wouldn't advise that. I'm in a similar spot with FAnderson - off form but can't get rid with those fixtures up to 31.

Saving is an option, but then there's nothing obvious to do next week as you'd have a strong 11. Hmmmm. Tricky.

It's risky, but depending how he goes this week I'd consider Auba -> Kun

Yeah it's tricky .Have thought of getting higuain in early gw29 if Chelsea show signs of improvement vs city and spurs and saving free transfer this week.As u says depends on how auba does today.Cheers

      Ederson (etheridge)
      Vvd doherty Pereira (luiz awb)
      Son Anderson pogba salah (billing)
      Firmino Jimi rashford

I dont feel comfortable with anderson against city away so my options are:

      A) billing to Barnes
      B) awb to lascelles
      C) save and play Anderson?

Anyone knows whether Lejuene fron Newcastle is nailed? Or bardsley from Burnley? Who's the better pick?

Lejeune is nailed. Was just out ages with injury. Bardsley seems nailed. Dyche seems to prefer him to Lowton. This happened last season from memory.
