Hazard and Hudson-Odoi start for Chelsea as Higuain returns

The final match of Blank Gameweek 33 takes place this evening, as West Ham United make the short trip across London to face Chelsea. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is at 20:00 BST.

Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi keep their places in Maurizio Sarri’s starting XI and are joined in Chelsea’s front three by Gonzalo Higuain, who replaces the benched Olivier Giroud.

Given Chelsea’s congested fixture schedule and Sarri’s comments on Friday about “having to change”, there are perhaps not quite as many alterations as we anticipated to the Blues’ line-up.

Sarri’s only other change is an expected one, with Antonio Rudiger replacing Andreas Christensen at centre-half.

Pedro has recovered from injury to take his place among the substitutes alongside Christensen, Giroud, Willian, Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic.

There is no Marcos Alonso in the squad, with the Spanish left-back having been a doubt for this match after suffering a hamstring injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has recovered from back and hamstring problems to start, however.

After the Hammers’ dismal display against Everton in Gameweek 32, there is perhaps no surprise that Manuel Pellegrini has made five changes to his starting XI.

Marko Arnautovic isn’t one of those changes, however, despite Javier Hernandez‘s return to the West Ham team.

Felipe Anderson and Ryan Fredericks have recovered from injury to start, while Fabian Balbuena is in the Hammers’ starting XI for the first time since December.

Mark Noble is also recalled as Issa Diop, Pablo Zabaleta, Robert Snodgrass, Pedro Obiang and Lucas Perez make way.

All bar Zabaleta of that quintet are among the substitutes tonight.

West Ham were the first team to prevent Hazard from registering an attacking return this season when the two clubs drew 0-0 in Gameweek 6.

The Belgian winger was the third-most-bought and third-most-captained Fantasy asset of Gameweek 33.

Noble is the only member of West Ham’s starting XI to score or assist an away goal this calendar year.

The Hammers are without a victory away from the London Stadium since December.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have kept clean sheets in seven of their last ten home league matches.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Emerson, Kante, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Higuain, Hazard.

West Ham United XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Noble, Rice, Anderson, Lanzini, Arnautovic, Hernandez.

First bit of good fortune comes my way in ten gameweeks.

Rewind back to GW23 I had maintained tremendous pace and was sitting at 27K. My aim was another top 5K. But Since then I’ve freefalled at an alarming speed, finding myself down in 260K with 6GWs to go. I then amended my finish target to top 100K.

But now things are looking rosy again now thanks to Haz (c) and I am now 137K.

Realistic finish Is Top 50K now

Ah mate! Without looking at each individual GW, I can still see that is so unlucky.

You can still get top 50K to cushion the blow. But you were in with a shout of winning the whole thing.

I always say, get a good start and you never know where you’ll end up.

All the best and hopefully next season you’ll come back even stronger

Only drop of 1.3k despite no hazard or Vardy. From 950 to 2.2k. Could have been worse I guess. Pretty gutted as I’ve had to fight my way back up once already after a similar drop. No WC to use like most others next week so will likely get worse!

I don’t think it is FH31 or FH32’s that won. It’s the planners vs non planners.

Many reactive / non-planners took hits for the DGW and were caught out when those big hitters blanked this week.

It is not over still. Many of those have again taken hits to get in Bou/Lei players.

Keep. Their goal-scoring and assists potential is too hard to ignore. Liverpool have Chelsea coming up, but I fancy them to get the W at Anfield. They have Cardiff, Huddersfield and Newcastle after the Chelsea game too. So yeah, I'd keep both, but make sure your other 3 defenders have doubles for GWs 34 and 35. A defender from Brighton would be smart since they have back-to-back double GWs (Duffy) . Doherty and Holebas are good additions to prepare for the double GW35 too.

Good advice mate. Thinking maybe Valery instead of Holebas. Was also considering a Spurs defender?

Valery and a Spurs defender (Trippier) are also good options. Just go with whatever fits your budget. Spurs have Huddersfield in 34 then a double against City and Brighton in 35. I fancy they will get a clean sheet against Huddersfield and Brighton. Also, Trippier has attacking potential. Southampton still fighting to avoid relegation, so they won't be pushovers either.
