Who I think are the best Brentford players in FPL for Gameweek 10 onwards

After a high-variance, polarising week for many Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, we must now look ahead to Gameweek 10 and the new challenges it brings.

There are plenty of opportunities to make up ground lost in Gameweek 9 and I would like to talk about a team that have impressed me to no end this season: Brentford.

The Bees sit 12th in the Premier League table with 12 points, which is about what you would expect from a ‘good’ promoted side. However, the underlying numbers have not just been good, they’ve been great.

Before that, I would like to provide some context by mentioning that they were second bottom of the Season Ticker from Gameweeks 1-9.

However, let’s look ahead now to the next nine weeks:

Brentford sit right at the very top of the Scout ticker for the next nine Gameweeks. Gameweek 10 is a great entry point too, as the below image shows that their next three opponents, Burnley, Norwich and Newcastle. are in the bottom three for non-penalty expected goals conceded (xGC) this season.

Let’s have a look at Brentford’s attacking numbers over the last four Gameweeks. For context, they have played Liverpool, West Ham, Chelsea and Leicester over the aforementioned period. All four of these teams finished in the top six last season:

I'm in similar boat of Livra Vs Gray.

Out of your two options I'd start Hwang, Everton conceded 5 last time out and he's in decent scoring form

I have both on my bench and I don't like it... Livramento has found his taste for goals and clinical Hwang is playing a Eve defence at home. Flip a coin.

2 questions I could do with some help with....

    Long term replacement for Raya:

    A. Guaita
    B. Fernandez

Don't want McCarthy or Ramsdale due to double ups and don't want Sanchez as majority of my league have him, chasing some positive variance.

    Start one:

    1. Livra (wat)
    2. Gray (wol)

    Thanks!

B (I wouldn't wish my worse enemy to own Guaita)
2 (always favour the attacker personally)

Does Grealish get one more role of the dice or do I bench him and get him out next week? I’ve already used my free to do Alonso > Chilwell. My main dilemma is Grealish or Sarr?

I would even consider Grealish & Duffy to TAA Mbeumo for -8

    1. RealSocialDads

      Wouldn't remove him for a -4

Would you play him, Sarr or Livramento this week?? He’s playing every game and surely has to get some returns, right???

Would definitely play him this week. Then bench order would be Sarr Livra

That is likely my plan. Who knows, maybe Pep does us all and rests Foden anyway and they both then play!

Any suggestions on moves ahead of Brentford good fixtures?
Now 0.2m short of Armstrong to Toney straight up
Armstrong could still drop in price this gameweek.

Is it better to roll transfer and assess next week?

    Some ideas:
    Gray to ESR next week
Armstrong to Hwang instead of Toney
    Gray to Mbuemo

    Guiata
    Trent Dias James Livra
    Salah Foden Raphinha Gray
    Kane Antonio
    Steer White Armstrong Gilmour

Since you can do a straight swap to Toney, I think you can roll FT this GW and bring in Mbeumo and Toney next GW. You could bring in Mbeumo this GW pending injury update

Cheers. Concerns re Armstrong price drop. Possibly not the week to remove Gray but will be very soon anyway. Have a gut feeling on Burnley winning this game so could give it a week - could easily backfire too!

          can't do a straight swap*

Burnley defence is ranked 18th and 17th for this season and last 4 games respectively. Burnley attack is ranked 17th and 19th for this season and last 4 games respectively. I'm not sure about them winning this game

I feel like I live alone on an island called bench headache paradise, whereby I think having a bench headache is a truly great thing. Am I alone?
I’ve seen so many managers have a player randomly benched only to have nobody come on. This week I had Azpi, and unfortunately White came on as I had him first bench, Hwang second and ESR third. But so much better than having a benching crisis.

I'm having an bench headace this GW. Don't know who to start out of, Livramento, Raphinha, Mbuemo, Walker, Azpi, Hwang and/or Foden if/when I bring him in.

I'm with you. Would rather have points on the bench in case of the unexpected, than have nothing there - especially as getting 11 players out at the moment seems to take some doing/luck.

    3. WVA

My rival always has a strong bench and every time one of them scores he gets them in for example Azpi/Livra

    4. lilmessipran
      • 11 Years

Can also translate to not utilizing your budget efficiently enough..Sure you can be result oriented when 1 out of the 10 gws a clean sheet or an odd goal comes off your bench but the additional 2-3m invested in your bench for the other 9 gws is like opportunity cost which you could have invested in your starting 11 in a better way

Possibly in seasons gone. But that is way off this season. Who would you have had so far to spend it on? Kane, Lukaku, Ronaldo, KDB, Bruno?

        1. lilmessipran
          • 11 Years
          2 years, 6 months ago

premium defenders, salah, mane, son, vardy over the 7-8m forwards bar Antonio ton of places to spend ..also gives you price points to have direct swaps with players instead of spending your budget across the 15 and taking additional transfers/hits to get in the premiums

    5. jackruet
      • 2 Years

This is caused by under performing premiums. Hopefully they will step up so that the game becomes more enjoyable

Longer term, with a view to getting either of Son or Kane from GW 12, what should be the priority:replacement for Ronaldo

    A)Just do Ronaldo to Kane
    B) Vardy, and downgrade elsewhere to raise funds for Son
    C) Auba, same as B, but with a better 4th defender

Gallagher's stats are, slightly, better than Gray's.

Gallagher - his role has changed recently and not as appealing as a FPL pick

Is a Chilwell price rise likely tonight?

I think he was meant to rise for the last 2 days.

Townsend & Vardy for Foden & Antonio (-4?)
    Worth it?

    Ramsdale
    Cancelo TAA Chilwell
    Raph Son Salah Townsend Mbeumo
    Vardy Toney

    Foster Mbeumo Jansson Davis

Not when Vardy is confirmed fit, back in training and up against one of his favourite teams for goals

Back to the drawing board, then. Looking to fit Foden in, but not at the expense of Son v Man Utd.

I find it interesting to see teams starting Foster ahead of Sanchez and Ramsdale. I agree the latter both have tough fixtures but I can't see any of 3 GKs keeping a CS. Surely back the save points in the tough fixtures?

      Yeah i'll be going ramsdale

Yeah I was thinking the same, I have both and was thinking of starting Snachez.

The way Chelsea plays, having at least one fullback is very sensible. Even rudiger sometimes plays so up front. Tuchel is trying to play same as mancini's Italy at euro.

    1FT, 0.6itb. Best move here?

    Ramsdale
    TAA - Rudi - Christ - Cancelo
    Salah - Son - Raphinha
    Vardy - Antonio - Watkins

    a) Rudi > Chilwell
    b) Raphinha > B.Silva or alternative
    c) Roll FT
    d) Other suggestion
