Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has gone live for the 2024/25 season – and managers can now set their squads up for the new campaign.

The launch comes after a week of price reveals in which 176 Premier League players were priced up across all 20 top-flight clubs.

We’ll begin rounding up the newly released prices in more articles to come.

LIVE REACTION

WHAT’S NEW IN FPL

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) had previously said there will be “exciting new features” in this season’s game.

On Tuesday, FPL finally announced three major changes: the ability to roll up to five transfers (and keep the saved ones after using a chip), a new Mystery Chip, and minor tweaks to the scoring system/Bonus Points System.

You can read all about them here.

The interface has also been altered, including the welcome move of the chips to an area where they are less likely to be accidentally clicked:

WHAT’S STAYED THE SAME IN FPL

Everything else of note in FPL seems to have remained the same.

Aside from the ‘Mystery Chip’, the other chips are as they were (two Wildcards, one Free Hit, one Bench Boost and one Triple Captain).

The Gameweek deadlines remain at 90 minutes prior to the first kick-off.

Other than goalkeepers getting 10 points for a goal, there are no other direct changes to the scoring system – so no ball recoveries, as some were predicting.

FPL Gameweek 38 Scout Picks: Title-chasers dominate

If you’ve been taking a well-earned break from all things FPL over the summer, welcome back. If you’ve stayed with us through Euro Fantasy, thanks for your dedication!

The FPL planning for Gameweek 1 starts in earnest here and we’ve got all the tools and articles you need to help with your pre-season preparation.

PRE-SEASON TAB

Speaking of pre-season, our dedicated page lists all the summer friendlies, as well as the results, scorers and assisters when they have taken place.

We’ll have Scout Notes on all of these friendlies, to see if we can unearth the next John Lundstram ahead of Gameweek 1.

Key transfer ins and outs, links to content for all 20 clubs, set-piece takers and so much more will also be included on this page.

This pre-season article will get a lot busier over the next month, as we build towards the opening weekend in August.

NEW SIGNINGS + MANAGERS ASSESSED
Enzo Maresca at Chelsea: What we can expect in FPL 5

There have been some high-profile transfers already taking place this summer and we will be documenting them all.

There are a few new manager appointments in the English top flight, too.

The biggest moves will get their own dedicated Scout Reports, while we’ll also cover every other noteworthy incoming transfer in our regular round-up.

SEASON TICKER
FPL 2024/25: Best fixtures for the new season

Our Season Ticker can help you sort by opponent difficulty to spot those upcoming fixture swings, while you can also find out which teams’ matches rotate well.

Liverpool, for example, are top of our Season Ticker over the first eight Gameweeks of 2024/25 – but there are some tough games ahead for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Not a fan honestly. Not sure on Gabriel as well as Saliba, I don't think Schar is worth £5.5m and I think there are better options than Doku and Mainoo. Maybe one of the two as a differential would be ok

Who do people think is the best under priced player for the start of the season?

I think some of the below for me:

    1. Nkunku 6.5 - cheap, and a good option if he stays fit
    2. Bruno 8.5 - main point of attack, on pens and good fixtures
    3. MGW 6.5 - main point of attack on pens and good fixtures
    4. Eze 7.0 - nailed, fairly cheap, main point of attack and on all set peices
    5. Armstrong 5.5 - nailed, cheap, over 20 goals last season in the championship and on pens
    6. Mbeumo 7.0 - OOP, fairly cheap, and pens if Toney leaves
    7. Wood 6.0 - 14 goals last season, cheap and Forrest have good fixtures to start with

I would say the only underpriced player there is Nkunku and that's only if he can stay fit and start

Also one I wouldn't go with for the start of the season for this reason. Plus all the good striker options. Could come good for sure though

      You mean budget or underpriced?

From my sheet there are 7 players that I consider 1m underpriced:
Rashford, Nkunku, Foden, Pedro, Watkins, Havertz, Isak

Of those, I think Havertz is the most underpriced. The nailed-on starting CF (assuming that he is and I'd be shocked if he isn't come the start of the season) for a title contending team that scored 91 goals last season should not be 8m.

For budget players, I consider Morgan Rogers, Doku and Kudus to have the highest breakout potential.

No. I think he's priced correctly. But that doesn't mean he isn't a good pick. He's in my first draft.

I'm debating whether Gordon and Gvardiol is a better pick than Watkins and 4.5 defender. What's your opinion?

      2. TheBiffas

Yeah, it took me a while to clock on to how good of a pick Havertz is but I can't see him leaving my team now

      3. grooveymatt65

I mean under priced for what they should be although Bruno is probably about right.

Agree with the budget picks, Kudus is a really good one as well

Maybe happy to wait for Sesko next year. Havertz doing well enough to be getting on with, no point buying an aging overpriced striker in the mean time.

Of those I'd say Eze due to the set pieces, double figures for goals in consecutive seasons and having the extra points for clean sheets and goals as a midfielder. Didn't think he'd be less than Mateta.

Watkins, Isak, Gordon, Trent all underpriced but doesn't matter too much as you almost certainly have to omit a true premium to afford them all.

I want nothing to do with Armstrong and Nkuku is on the 'wait and see' pile. Otherwise I agree all of those look like handy picks.

Barnes. Will outscore Gordon is my prediction. He has a better points per minute and now he’s fit again.

Light in defence, but with Haaland and Salah.

    4.5 / 4.0

Salah, Palmer, Gordon, Nkunku / 4.5
    Haaland, Havertz / 4.5

    Draft 2:

    Sanchez Sels
    TAA Gvardiol Saliba Zinchenko H-B
    Salah KDB/Foden Nkunku Barnes Garnacho
    Isak Gakpo JPedro

    Feel it’s a good balance of players prices and teams. 3*LFC, 3*Newcastle, 2*Arse al, 2*City, 2*Chelsea.

Salah & KDB/Foden as captain picks.

Ipswich are at home won't be an easy place to travel especially first game of the season having been out of the premier league for 22 years will have a cup tie atmosphere, will also be Slots first game in charge so might take a bit of time to adapt to his style of play. I can see an upset on the cards.

    Watkins / Isak

    Bench full of crap.

Can always downgrade Trent and upgrade Garnacho and Hudson Odoi.

    Thoughts? Quite sold on it.
    Bench is for GW2, 3 & 5:

    Pickford
    Maatsen - Livramento* - Branthwaite
    Saka (C) - Palmer - Fernandes - Gordon
    Isak - Højlund - Gakpo
    (Henderson - Mitchell - Estupiñan - Kamada)

*Livramento will be a different Newcastle defender if he doesn’t start.

I don't like any of your 5 defenders. Each one of them has a cheaper alternative from the same team who offer almost as much (apart from Livramento, who isn't guaranteed to start)
