Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has gone live for the 2024/25 season – and managers can now set their squads up for the new campaign.

The launch comes after a week of price reveals in which 176 Premier League players were priced up across all 20 top-flight clubs.

We’ll begin rounding up the newly released prices in more articles to come.

LIVE REACTION

WHAT’S NEW IN FPL

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) had previously said there will be “exciting new features” in this season’s game.

On Tuesday, FPL finally announced three major changes: the ability to roll up to five transfers (and keep the saved ones after using a chip), a new Mystery Chip, and minor tweaks to the scoring system/Bonus Points System.

You can read all about them here.

The interface has also been altered, including the welcome move of the chips to an area where they are less likely to be accidentally clicked:

WHAT’S STAYED THE SAME IN FPL

Everything else of note in FPL seems to have remained the same.

Aside from the ‘Mystery Chip’, the other chips are as they were (two Wildcards, one Free Hit, one Bench Boost and one Triple Captain).

The Gameweek deadlines remain at 90 minutes prior to the first kick-off.

Other than goalkeepers getting 10 points for a goal, there are no other direct changes to the scoring system – so no ball recoveries, as some were predicting.

How far in front do you want them? Hour and a half is long as it is. Teams should focus on finding out who is leaking the team sheets in the first place.

Gakpo anyone? Honestly feel like Jesus would be a threat to Havertz gametime. It just takes a bad run of form.

Fair enough but Jesus would eat out of those minutes & could even become first choice.

    Pickford
    Maatsen - Livramento* - Branthwaite
    Saka (C) - Palmer - Fernandes - Gordon
    Isak - Højlund - Gakpo
    (Henderson - Mitchell - Estupiñan - Kamada)

Trying to not make any transfers (if possible) up until GW5.
    Bench is for GW2, 3 & 5.
*Livramento will be a different Newcastle defender if he doesn’t start.

Think I’m set on no Haaland for the first few weeks, with that being said, I’m leaning to a GW1BB now, use the bench to build up to 5FTs then WC & come out of it with 5FTs

      Something like

      Emi Martinez / Flekken

      Trent / Timber / Shaw / Burn / Murillo

      Salah C / Nkunku / Gordon / CHO / Garnacho

      Isak / Havertz / Watkins

It all rotates nicely for 5 weeks so I’m going to ignore content and not get sucked into chasing last weeks points & pick a more structured Haaland team around GW6.

Fixs seem to be ok for a 5 week block, obviously this is a day one draft so lots will change but how does the 15 look?

Edit. Yes, I’m expecting Timber to play and have a big season.

I’m not interested in reasons for a GW1 BB, more interested in any views on the spread of 15.

Looks ok, but BB in gw1 not on the cards for me, and I did it for the last 4/5 seasons.

        Reasons:
        a) The 5 ft make it easy to BB later in the season (main reason most BB in gw1)
        b) I don't like the fixtures in GW1. There are some easy to call fixtures there like Arsenal vs Wolves, but there's too many fixtures which are hard to call the result on. Some of the teams in GW1 with a good fixture like arsenal dont have good fixtures afetr the first game so you wouldn't want a triple up.
Every time I played BB in GW1, the fixtures were easy to call and teams like west ham or newcastle (which aren't too expensive), had an easy run of fixtures making them obvious picks.

That’s cool, I’m not here to change your mind, for me, I’ll be captaining Salah for the first 5 weeks so don’t see the point of getting Haaland for 15m when Watkins & 6m opens up a small window at the start to use it & spread the funds a little more.

Yeah sure, 5FTs make it easy to use at any time but with so few DGWs this year, most will likely use it in a random single so with that logic, it don’t matter if it’s GW1, 7, 13, 22 etc

Are there any of the 15 you wouldn’t take for the first 5 weeks?

Bit unsure of Nkunku, no idea how the new manager will set them up and who he’ll use.

probably just flekken and nkunku would concern me, but flekken ok for gw1.

I will probably have a Manu defender as well, maybe Martinez if starting, only 4.5.

Martinez was in my first draft funny enough but I fancy a more explosive option for the opening week while I have a bit more funds to play with.

Don’t really fancy Flekken but yeah, it’s more a GW1 pick, he’ll be on the bench until WC after that.

Remember that game when Salah had 12 shots vs Brighton, scored the winner (2-1 FT) but missed out on bonus. Im guessing there's a big chance he would've got 3 with the new BPS scoring system.

Honestly surely there's quite a few players who would've got +/- 20-ish points last season based on these changes.

Is FFS going to bring an article out discussing some players that would've got a major points increase, and those who would've got a decrease (mainly defenders). Would be top to see the potential impact for the upcoming season.

although have to say with these changes would've been nice to see a boost to chance creation in a new form of bps or increased bps for what was already in the game

not just attacking full backs losing out, creative mids like Odegaard and Gross etc are being hit. feels disproportionate

Very happy with this one. Plenty of heavy hitters.

Roger’s is the only concern but he has started pre season well. If he doesn’t look like a starter then TAA + Rogers + Coady ➡ Robertson + Elanga + Burn

        Sanchez
        TAA - Mykolenko - VdV
        Salah - Palmer - Foden - Rogers
        Watkins - Isak - Havertz

        Fabianski - Winks - Bellis - Coady

        Thoughts?

Will monitor Liverpool pre season closely

They have dreamy fixtures. TAA may be OOP this season and there’re no other nailed attackers. Set pieces added bonus. Worth a punt imo.

If you’re not going for Haaland there really is no excuse not to go for Trent.

I did a Haaland team & couldn’t get to Trent but going Watkins instead (for now) opened a few doors for upgrades.

Who do you sacrifice out of these 7?

        Salah | Palmer | Foden | Gordon
        Watkins | Isak | Havertz

        Munoz | VdV | Burn | Konsa | Castagne
        Palmer | Foden | Saka | Salah | Winks
        Isak | Havertz | 4.5

By clicking BB and TC there is no need to save the team
It was not like this last season

I'm leaning towards this structure. Think this could cover not having Haaland.

        Sels - Turner
        Gabriel - Trent - 4.5 - 4.5 - 4.0
        Palmer - Saka - Foden - Eze - Gordon
        Isak - Havertz - 4.5

I'd want a team that could rotate well for at least the first 3 weeks and hopefully have 3FT in the bank by GW4.

Blanks will be filled depending on who's likely to start and the fixture runs.

Just a little torn on whether to go with Salah and another 4.5 def instead of Saka and Trent?

I will probably end up on something similar myself, good balance and covers a lot of good areas. Gvardiol over Gabriel for me though.

        1st draft;

        Vicario Petrovic
        Gvardiol Saliba Dubk Castagne Bednarek
        Palmer Saka Foden Garnacho Rodri
        Hojlund Watkins Cunha

I was totally sold on no Haaland, but then again:
        - break for the whole summer
        - last 2 seasons, brace in gw1
        - first 4 fixtures I like

Fairly sure I will get him now, and possibly ditch around gw4.

Yea for sure. Current team with Haaland:

            Sanchez
            Munoz - Martinez - Myko
            Salah - Eze - Andreas - MGW
            Haaland - Watkins - Isak

            Turner, Burn, Davis, Luongo

Mid does look weak, but its full of pen takers and the forwards are the best you could have. Wouldn't mind TAA, but he could be going.

So yea, around GW4 I would probably make a few changes to take out Haaland and get Arsenal or whoever (saving all FT until then).

Crazy seeing him at 30% ownership so far. Let’s be real everyone will own him GW1, too scared not to.

I don't think it will be like last season. Maybe 65-70% GW1 IMO.

Gone for a heavy midfield hitting first draft, as many with a rest over the summer as possible

        Verbruggen (Turner)
        Gvardiol, Burn, Mykolenko (Andersen, Harwood-Bellis)
        Salah, Son, Bruno, KDB (Winks)
        Isak, Watkins, Pedro

Think it’ll be low scoring at the back, midfielders benefited through bps most - Fouls won, SOT etc.

Everyone else is doing it, so here goes...

        Verbruggen

        Anderson, Burn, Mykolenko

        Salah, Palmer, Kudus, CHO

        Haaland, Watkins, Muniz

Bench - Bentley, Wharton, Okoli, Ji-Soo

Anybody else think Saka, Foden, Walker, Trippier etc will be a bit jaded for the start of the season?

Not really. Southgate ball is so slow they've just been on half hols. Still expecting Newcastle to try and get some cash in from Tripps before he's

How is this for a draft? A bit different but I guess all of them are nowadays..

        Pickford
        Gvardiol, Burn, Mykolenko
        Palmer, Saka, Gordon, Bruno, Foden
        Watkins, Mateta

        Turner, Konsa, Andersen, Fraser

        Kudus.

Price downgrade to 6.5m, whilst the new BPS system favours (especially tackles won). He’s the only player with a price decrease that has a 20%+ BPS boost (based on last year).

Excellent in Europa League last season, surely some more of that magic will come this season?

        Two questions:
        1. Paqueta impact - likely to leave the club, or banned? Either way, unsettled.
        2. New manager - will they start slow? Where will Kudus play? Centrally with Antonio aging…who knows.

Got a strong feeling he will be a shrewd asset next season, even from the get go.

Will be monitoring heavily before the deadline.

        Hey guys,

How does the below first draft look? appreciate it's early days haha.

I decided to not go for Foden or Saka due to them coming back late from the Euros.

        Neto
        Gvardiol, Shaw, Andersen
Salah (c), Palmer, Bruno, KDB, Gordon
        Isak Wood
        Paulsen Bednarek Johnson N Fraser

          Different. Like it.

I would have similar concerns about Shaw however as you do Foden and Saka. Martinez may be an option instead.
Andersen > Munoz is probably worth it, but nice to have 0.5 itb. You could get a chelsea keeper, both at 4.5, presumably sanchez gets the spot.
