Fantasy managers are treated to four fixtures this evening as the Euro 2016 action picks up pace.
First up at 5pm, Germany take on Northern Ireland and Poland go head-to-head with Ukraine in Group C.
The World Champions produced more attempts than any team over the qualifying period but have toiled for a cutting edge so far and stuttered to a goalless draw with Poland last time out.
Only two sides managed more shots on target over the first two rounds of fixtures than Joachim Lowe’s men, though, which suggests Michael McGovern will be kept busy between the sticks.
Certainly, Michael O’Neill’s men won’t make it easy for their opponents. Northern Ireland have conceded just once in their last five matches and swept aside Ukraine 2-0 last time out to hand themselves a chance of progressing.
Poland arrived in Euro 2016 as top scorers in qualifying but, like Germany, have flattered to deceive. Adam Nawalka’s side have mustered a mere four attempts on target over their pair of matches and found the net on just one occasion.
With a win and draw apiece, Germany lead the Poles on goal difference alone, though neither will be too concerned with a second-place finish here, as the runners-up in Group C would then face Switzerland for a spot in the quarter-finals.
