Monitor – Alexis Sanchez

Having struggled to make an impact in his opening matches for Manchester United, Alexis Sanchez has made a timely return to form ahead of Double Gameweek 34.

Back-to-back double-digit hauls against Swansea and Man City, denying the latter of the title at the Etihad Stadium, has reignited confidence in the Chilean’s Fantasy prospects.

With Jose Mourinho’s men set for a kind pair of fixtures against West Brom and Bournemouth, Sanchez looks a ready-made differential in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), boasting a 3% ownership.

In this latest Monitor article for members’, we run the rule over Sanchez’s recent form for the Old Trafford outfit to assess whether he could be worth the hefty 11.5 outlay.

Still very undecided what to do with this lot - any advice much appreciated..

    2 FT - 0.1 ITB - Using BB this week, FH 35, TC 37

    DDG - Ryan
    Alonso - Morgan - Lowton - Kiko - Bailly
    Salah - Son - Mahrez - Willian - Kante
    Kaku (c) - Murray - Auba

    Thanks!

I'd probably downgrade Bailly to try and fit Kane in for Auba

ahh only leaves me with £3.8m for a defender if switch auba for kane...

          All can really think is

          Auba - > Vardy
          Kiko - Tark

Gives me 14 DGW playes + Salah - but have no faith in Burnley keeping CS.

The standard move is downgrade Son to upgrade Auba to Kane

This got bottomed of a previous page.

Any drafts yet for GW35 FH teams? I'm trying to see how close I can get to it, without using my FH (saving for GW37).

    My very quick go:

    Ederson
    Coleman Mustafi VVD
    Salah Shaq Sterling/Silva Zaha
    Auba Firmino Kun (c)

    3.9 3.9 Mariappa Milo

Maybe no Salah and Firmino due to Champions League semi. But the alternatives aren't very appealing.

    Arnie?
    Ramsey?
    Double Arsenal defence?
    Stoke defence?
    Kiko?

Been looking at my potential FH team for 35 - Currently looking at this lot

      GK - Butland (or Ederson)
      Def - Mustafi (or Baines)
      Def - Belerin
      Def - Van Dijk
      Mid - Shaqiri
Mid - Sterling (or Ramsey or Walcott)
      Mid - De Bruyne
      Mid - Salah
      Att - Aubamayang
      Att - Aguero
      Att - Deeney (or Tosun)

City and Pool assets hard to predict.... would welcome any feedback,

looking at 102.9 for the initial choices I selected, although I already own Aubamayang so it'll be effeticely 102.7, I have 103.4 to spend

      I'm looking at:

      Heaton (Pope)
Baines, Robertson, Kiko (2 x cheap)
Salah (c), Sterling, Sane, D Silva (Milivojevic)
      Auba, Firmino, Tosun

Either that or downgrade a City Mid and Baines, do Tosun > Aguero, and play Milivojevic.

Salah captain feels a massive risk. I'm not even sure I'd pick him.

There are rotation risks for 5/6 of that team i.e. all the Pool and City players. Given FH is probably the best chip we have (apart from WC), it feels like a waste if loads get reduced minutes.

No idea. Maybe players like Shaq, Zaha, Arnie who are nailed and have something to play for.

City could win the title vs. Swansea and have nothing else to play for, they will be full strength.

Liverpool players are a risk but I think that GW36 will be where the rotation is most likely (not many missed GW32).

Maybe you are right about the captaincy though. Aubameyang could be the way to go.

Liverpool's game is 4.30pm on Sunday and the CL semi could be on Tuesday night.

Nothing to play for in the league. I'd be astounded if there isn't massive rotation. Even if they start, they'll be hooked early.

I'm gonna have a pop at a second draft now with this in mind, have to have 3 city though they will pick their strongest team surely.

Post it here, as I'd be really interested to see it.

I had a carefully planned strategy for the rest of the season that Liverpool have managed to completely balls up by beating City.

                Cech /3.9*
                Mustafi/Baines/Van DIjk/TAA*/Robertson*
                Sane/Sterling/Zaha/Shaqiri/Salah
                Aubamayang/Aguero(c)/4.5*

I'm assuming at least 2 out of Salah/VVD/Robertson/TAA will play - all others look pretty nailed to me.

                  Good team.

Picking Robertson and VVD could work if you pick a decent bench. Beauty of FH though is freedom to have a bench of fodder.

I'm not convinced Kun is nailed, but I'd probably still pick him.

I think I'd captain Auba for safety.

                    Assumption is I'm paying 352 - Robertson sub 1, TAA sub 2....

I can't look past Aguero purely for potential to explode points wise, but agree there are so many city options that appeal that week. KDB does look tired. Will also look to see who gets rested in GW 34 for city.

Definitely got to get three City. It's just picking the ones that will play!

Ederson, Ota, Walker look the only 100% nailed ones. Maybe KDB but he looked knackered against Liverpool. Silva should be fresh after his absence.

Equally, Morph's strategy above of getting Sane, Sterling and Silva (and accepting a highly likelihood one will be benched) might work well.

WBA vs Liverpool is 12:30 on the Saturday, as is Liverpool vs Stoke the week after. The UCL game could equally be on the Wednesday.

Ah, you're right on fixture timings. Google let me down. Makes them more likely to start, but still feel they'll get subbed early.

Draw for Semi is Friday I think, so at least we'll know dates before this GW deadline (it decides my transfers now).

Yup a home tie first leg on Wednesday will reduce rotation, if its away on the Tuesday however......

Makes no odds re Salah, such high ownership you kinda have to get him just in case. others less so

with 0.9 on the bank that leaves me with 9.6 to spend on a defender and a midfielder, preferably both with a DGW

IMO it increases the risk of rotation. At least when they were in the UCL, you could have jumped on Bernardo or Gundogan and been confident of their PL minutes...

    Currently on:

    Cech McCarthy
    Alonso Robertson Lowton Chilwell Mariappa
    Son Salah Sterling Willian King
    Lu(k)aku Firmino Auba

£0.0 itb 2FTs no WC no FH. Planning to BB (as I will be TC on Kane in GW37 and both Liverpool and Arsenal have good fixtures this week).

Thinking about Robertson -> Tarkowski for the extra DGW, free up funds for Kane in GW36 (together with shipping Son). Means I will have 8 DGW, 2 Liverpool and 2 Arsenal this week, which I am pretty happy with. Only real concern is Raheem after playing the 90 last night.

Thoughts? (I know I have no United defence haha)

do you want Salah to season end? maybe sell for DGWer like Alli/Eriksen & use funds to upgrade Gudmun to Lingard/Gross?

Downgrade somewhere to get Kane for Auba - Alonso or Son look the main candidates although either could backfire

    Salah & Aubameyang ----> Pogba & Kane

Does this make sense with 2 FT, and free hit to play in 35?

Fwd line is currently Auba / Vardy / Murray

Aubameyang would be back in my team for 37.

Depends if you want Salah back for 36-38 I guess. Seems an awful lot of cash to burn (assume you lose around £1m buying them back) for two extra fixtures this week

I was being a little facetious. Salah in one game has scored more than any player has managed in a DGW in the ten years I've played the game. Yes, it was likely a one-off. But people seem determined to have 15DGW players for their BB

Agreed! Yeah was being a tad sarcastic, I just don't see the need to take out someone when 5-0 is on the cards on the weekend.

i'm chasing & was hoping he'd still be carrying a slight knock... on FH & decided i'd gamble without him for this DGW. he'll be back in 35 so not too much of an issue to me. now for someone not on a FH... it's a massive call.

Still looking for a bit of advice here chaps

TC chip active for this week

    A) Stick with big Rom
    B) Use FT to bring in Kane

    1. Going Home
      • 12 Years
      6 years, 1 month ago

I think Rom is a safer option. His fixtures are preferable and the breaks between his fixtures (and after his fixtures to the FA cup semi) are well spaced out, meaning his resting risk is lesser

Kane in the long run is probably your best bet & is capable of scoring a hattrick in any game, but I would say Lukaku has more chance of points this week with the fixtures.

I realise this probably just helps less..!

I think it depends on your attitude to risk.

In my opinion, Kane has the highest chance of underwhelming, but the highest chance of scoring very highly.

      Lukaku should do pretty well.

After some advice is poss please. Currently on the following with 1FT and 0.3 ITB:

    Ryan, de Gea
    Alonso, Mustafi, Lowton, Morgan, Mee
    Groß, Salah, Willian, Son, Mahrez
    Lukaku, Murray, Vardy

Was planning on getting Smalling for Mustafi this week but not sure because of rotation. Would also like to free up funds to get Kane in GW36 but still scared about dropping Alonso even with the poor form.

Need to use the FT because I can't carry it over with free hit being used in GW35. Any advice appreciated

    cheers

Have Bench Boost, 3C, FH left. Is it worth doing a bench boost with the following team?

    DDG/Ryan
    Chilwell/Morgan/Lowton/Christensen/Vertonghen

    Kane/Lukaku/Barnes

Thank you. I was hoping he'd do better last GW v. Watford, but now not so sure if he is worth holding on to. If I transfer him out, it would be for a hit, unfortunately, so he likely stays.

I don't suppose anyone knows the story with Guðmundsson's fitness? I've had him in for two weeks now, both blanks, I'd be prepared to take a hit [given that it's a DGW & i have BB active] to get him out if I was fairly sure he'd get zero mins in 34.
