        hit the woodwork in midweek

bit like with Vardy and underlying stats, Salah goes quite long periods of point scoring, but general play being a bit scruffy round the edges. This is favourite period of the season (often relatively tails off toward the end)

If Rico Lewis starts against Arsenal and plays 60+ mins. Would you get him on WC?

That seems like it would be the final endorsement needed. He's started basically every game over Walker this season so far. I think I would be quite tempted to go there.

On a WC I would like to go for players that have almost 100% possibility of starting every game. With Lewis you will never be sure I think.

I think you'd avoid all Man City players that aren't Haaland with this philosophy and you'd be screwed last season if you did that and didn't get Foden in.

For 4.7m, I think Lewis only needs like 80% nailedness to be considered good value if he plays in the position he does consistently.

        1. Ser Davos
          • 10 Years
          1 year, 2 months ago

there's not much in that price range. Maybe a Forest defender, but neither home game resulted in a CS

so having Lewis for those home games at his price looks a justified calculated risk

the weekend just gone, he started again and yes, he missed out on a point subsequently, but did anyone get any cheap clean sheets? Man Utd owners, but that wouldn't have been likely if Brereton had taken the pen

    3. fedolefan
      • 11 Years
      1 year, 2 months ago

His issues are a lack of certainty of starts AND a possibility of him being hooked at 45. That didn’t apply to Foden.

      Yup.
I know it's said that Saka insists on playing all the time. But the manager should be more responsible.
It's going to be one specific injury and he'll never be the same again.

      1. boc610
        • 13 Years
        1 year, 2 months ago

it must be difficult being a physio at a football club and having to tow the line all the time. Oddegaard out for a long spell is absolutely going to mean that saka's foot would basically have to fall off in order for him to not "be passed fit" because that would basically mean a title challenge is as good as over for arsenal. Imagine the presssure they are under when Arteta comes along and asks is our most important player fit for next game just as the club captain ruled out for months. what they privately think and what they end up saying arent going to line up

The whole ‘one week punts are dead’ thing is not strictly true if you can get to 5FTs, you have the ultimate flexibility for anything with 5 in the bank.

Could easily hop on and off big assets every week & still have transfers in the bank, it gives you the freedom to play the game anyway you want.

    1. Camzy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 15 Years

It's quite simple I think. Because we don't lose transfers any more around a WC, every single transfer should be considered as costing 4 points. Free or not.

Do you think doing Isak > Watkins will score you 4 more points this week? If the answer is yes, do it. If it's no, don't. Most often the answer will come up as no though. Transfers are more likely to pay off over a few gameweeks rather than immediately and if you plan to WC in 6, your transfer only has 1 week to pay off which means the chances of it working are much lower than a longer term move post WC.

    2. fedolefan
      • 11 Years

Can’t tell about the fun later but going 4-5 weeks without transfers is not going to be easy or fun if you haven’t already banked a few.

I have a really crappy bench and am just 1 benching away (with Joao Pedro, Gvardiol, Jota being key risks) from not having 11 players. Will most likely WC6 so we are looking at a 1-week punt here to take Havertz's place in the starting 11. Who would be your best choice?

Bournemouth are quite attacking, do we expect TAA to keep a clean sheet?

A or B for me, leaning on B due to the fact 'TAA is due'............ugh

I'm thinking Trent. I estimate he should outscore Salah 1 in every 4 matches over the season, does that sound about right? If so that should be coming soon

    TAA Porro Konsa
    Salah Eze Mitoma ESR
    Haaland Isak Muniz*

    4.0; Robinson, Winks, Barco*

    Going to wildcard in gw6.
    A. Muniz -> Vardy/DCL/Delap (1ft after wildcard)
