Members’ Stats Updated

The Members’ Area and Beta Sites have been updated with all the stats from tonight’s games. On the Beta site you can now analyse the team and player performances in detail then, and see just why Charlie Adam once again snatched Fantasy Premier League Bonus Points from the jaws of defeat.

Apart from the obvious (Nani, Simon Davies etc) the other leading performers on the night included United’s Darren Fletcher and Rafael. Blackpool’s full-backs were influential and contributed plenty going forward, while Cameron Jerome’s statistics certainly back up the decision to hand him the maximum 3 Bonus, despite his failure to score to find the net.

Member’s can visit the Beta area here and use the dropdown to switch stats to “Current Gameweek” to make some in-depth analysis.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Okey, how does this plan sounds like?

    Use WC soon.

    Team for gw24:

    Al-Habsi
    Rafael - Skrtel - Evatt
    N'Zogbia - Fabregas - Adam - Nani - VDV
    Torres - Rooney

    Bench: Bramble, Foley, Foster

Then use free transfers to build this team for gw27:

    Foster
    Evatt - Foley - Dann
    Fabregas - Brunt - Adam - VDV - Nani/Rooney (play 3-5-2 or 3-4-3)
    Carroll - Van Persie

    Bench: Al-Habsi, Rafael, Bramble

Then Van Persie -> Drogba before 28.

Any thoughts on my plan? Gonna WC and get the team I mentioned under GW24 and use it for both 23 and 24. Then no transfers before I do N'Zog -> Brunt before gw25. Then Skrtel->Dann and Torres->Van Persie before gw26.
No transfers before gw27 and then Van Persie-> Drogba before gw 28.

What was with hangelands reaction when dempsey scored? And did anyone notice the bloke falling over as he shook alex fergusons hand?

On first inspection I thought Hangeland had scored it.

Then on second viewing it looked like it glanced his head and onto Dempsey's.

I could be wrong but it looked to me like there was some contact made by him and that was what he was excited about. Maybe he was just happy that they'd be moving out of the relegation zone this evening?

It appears ive misread his reaction altogether because i thought he looked angry. Almost like he was angry with dempsey for stealing his goal or something (although without the dempsey touch it was probably going out for a west brom throw-in)

Ferguson or Etherington out for Nasri?

    Current front 8:

    Nani VDV Adam Etherington Ferguson
    Tevez Torres Carroll

Ferguosn would seem to be the obvious choice but then I would struggle to decide who to bench each week, plus transferring Etherington would give me more cash to spend elsewhere...

    Thoughts?

I think seeing the gameweek we are in, the forced one will be the only one that can be used for everyone. I wouldn't be worried using it. There was the 2 wildcard issue early in the season but FPL should have fixed all that by now.

Rooney has two double gameweeks coming up and it coincides with Chelsea playing some tough away games.

He could be back as soon as GW24.

I'm not sure it's worth it. You don't want to be making goalie transfers at this crucial double fixture stage.

I'm also curious about Foster. I know BIR have been poor lately but, if you place any faith in the season ticker they just came through a very rough run of fixtures which looks to improve considerably through the end of the season. Foster had 9 saves today? Is it really a good idea to give up on him?

Fixtures aren't the hottest I'm afraid.

I prefer Fabianski who's cheaper and plays for a better team.

Arsenal only have ManUtd (H) and Tottenham (A) that are considered "hard" fixtures until the end of the season.

Add on 4 home games out of 5 starting GW 24, and I don't see how he can't return. He also rotates well with Begovic, and you've got yourself a very decent goalie pairing to last until the end.

Right, Arsenal looks like they have the best fixtures. Didn't even look at that. Is Almunia likely to threaten or do you figure Fabianski has a lock on the job?

Well, it's an interesting angle for sure. He doesn't seem to produce the same level of points per game as Foster but, much better team and fixtures. A good case to look at the members area stats I guess to see how their forms compare then toss a coin.

I think I need to bring in a defender for the next 4 weeks to replace Givet.

My defence: Kolarov, Konchesky, Rafael, Coleman, Givet

    Only options: CHE, STK, WIG

Would I be mad to bring in a WIG defender for their Home fixture v Fulham and DGW? Probably right? Wigan are awful and don't keep CS?

What about save my transfer & then the following week:

    Yaya -> N'Zogbia
    Drogba -> Rooney

Double up on DGW players. Plus Rooney has a home fixture the week after compared to Drogbas away & Yaya needs to go anyway.

Yeah, definitely. Just leaves my defence a bit light next week:

        Rafael - tot(A)
        Konchesky - EVE(H)
        Kolarov - WOL(H)
        Coleman - liv(A)
        Givet - che(A)

        Pick 3 from those.

        Kolarov + 2 from Konchesky,Coleman,Rafael.

        Definitely not Givet.

Hmm.. I guess there aren't many great defensive options next week anyway!

Short term transfer this week. I'm WC'ing GW 24.

    Which is better?

MGP > N'Zog (means I have to bench one of Nani, Berbatov, Van Der Vaart)

    Kyrgiakos > Bramble

Kyri has another double the week after, depending on how much game time he is likely to get (watch this GW first, obviously) I expect he'd be worth keeping.

MGP ship has sailed. N'Zogbia looks must have over the next few weeks.

As I said though, I'm WC-ing GW 24, so this transfer will only affect GW 23 effectively.

I think I've got to go with the defender switch. It at least covers me in case Kolarov doesn't play or something goes wrong at the back.

        Team for GW 23.

        Foster

        Cole, Kolarov, Bramble

Nani, Van Der Vaart, Nasri, Adam

        Drogba (c), Tevez, Berbatov

        (Begovic, MGP, Jara, Evatt)

That's if I do the Kyrg > Bramble switch, otherwise, I play one of the three, get N'Zog and probably bench one of Berbatov and Adam.

Drogba 100% for me. It's not even a question.

We are absolutely dire at the moment, and without most of our centre backs, Drogba will have a field day.

We also don't have a defensive midfielder, so it'll be an extremely open game and I reckon we'll get hammered 5-0 or something.

It's really sad, but Rovers have just completely lost their defensive ability. We are definite contenders for relegation.

Of course. He may not play against Arsenal, I still think he will, but that doesn't matter because he's benched anyway. He'll be back in the team for his attacking strengths against Wolves the following week.

I don't want people to make my team for me - but if anyone has some general pointers for the upcoming Double GW and WC, since this is the 1st time I have had to deal with this.

    Foster Krul
    Vidic Skrtel Kolarov Bardsley Simpson
    Nani Fabregas Nasri VdV Adam
    Tevez Carroll Elmander
0.3m in bank, 1 free transfer

I am thinking the issues that will need to be dealt with when the WC is available will be the 2nd keeper position (Krul), Kolarov and Elmander. It means (I guess) speculative transfers for the DGWs until then. I'd say I really can't do anything with my midfield. Adam has ones coming up. Arsenal has one in Rd 27. And Nani and VdV probably not worth moving on short term.

Any thoughts on strategy - I am thinking that I can't really go overboard with DGWs.

      It's available now.

Elmander, Kolarov, Krul definitely the ones to go.

Your team is good. I'd look at maybe spending less on defense so that Elmander can be replaced with Berbatov, RvP or one of those mid-high end strikers.

I guess downgrading on Vidic wouldn't be too costly.

Yeah - that is a thought. With a decent team now, is it better to WC now or as late as possible to set up for the rest of the season? I am thinking the latter and make tweaks now to take advantage of DGWs.

With Vidic ManUtd have a DGW in GW24 & 28. Whether he is rotated during that time is another factor though. That said I could do Vidic->Rafael to gain 2.2m bringing the bank to 2.5m. RVP is 9.3m. Which means Kolarov would need to go to a 5.2m or less defender.

Bit of food for thought there. Thanks for the input.

        What I could do is...

        before GW24 Vidic->Nelson & Elmander->Berbatov
        before GW25 Kolarov->??? (similar price)
        before GW26 or 27 Berbatov->RvP

Then WC to do any tweaking (like Nasri->??? to give a more balanced midfield coverage and Krul->??? to shore up defence)

Fab and Nasri in the same midfield is overkill imo. You could downgrade one of them and then upgrade Elmander to Berbatov (GW24) or to RVP (GW27).
Krul>Begovic and Kolarov>Dawson may be worthwhile.

I don't think so. I think it could be a masterstroke.

Arsenal have 4 home games out of 5 starting GW 24. Those two are possibly their best players, and could score huge.

I'm getting Fabregas in for his double and I already have Nasri.. I'm slightly biased but I think it could pay off big time with those two fixtures at home against Wolves and Stoke.. I will obviously have to downgrade one of my strikers which are Drogba Elmander and Carroll.. Planis to ditch Elmander and get Varney or Campbell as they still have doubles over the next few weeks.. Malouda would probly be the one to go for Fabs

Although now I have had them for a few weeks I might as well wait until after GW27 where Arsenal have a DGW. But yeah - a shift to Berb/RVP also gains that advantage of DGW. I agree that the plan was to shift Nasri - maybe to someone like N'Zogbia. Wigan have a DGW in GW24...

        Thanks.
