Fantasy Premier League (FPL) 2011/12 Is Now Open

Fancy Robin Van Persie at 12.0? Or how about Luis Suarez for 9.5? Then you can have ’em.

Yes folks, it’s the day (night) we’ve all been waiting for. It’s here. Finally.

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has opened its doors for season 2011/12.

After a few false starts last week, with the new look needing one or two final tweaks, everything is now in order and we can begin to pick our squads ahead of the big kick-off on the 13th of next month.

So waste no more time and head on over to the Premier League official site to begin picking your fifteen.

We’ll have a further round-up of some of the prices in a little while but in the meantime, put off your bedtime for just a while. FPL is back.

Oh, and in case you are all wondering: Aleksander Kolarov is priced at 6.5. Don’t all rush at once, now.

Fantasy Football Scout League code is 490-626

11.5 to spend on my final midfielder and striker. thoughts?

    I;m Happy with:

    Given (Ruddy)
Luiz, Kompany, Kelly (Simpson & Briggs)
    Lampard Walcott Nzogbia Valencia (+1)
    RVP Graham (+1)

Lampard 12 v Drogs 10.5? Would rather have Drogs tbh.

Valencia must be a rote risk. Graham's too much of an unknown in an unknown land imo.

The new teams always do best at the start of the season so look at Taarabt, Sinclair (oop) and Hotlips for your final midparker.

    hello everyone,

what do you think about this (i'm sure it's similar to most people's teams):

    given (al-habsi)
    clichy, kompany, fabio (simpson, alcaraz)
malouda, albrighton, sinclair, valencia (ben arfa)
    rvp, suarez, ba

this is obviously still a rough draft (like suarez still being in copa), but it's the basic format I will be using.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but potential spanner in the works already for fantasy selection: Ben Arfa has just been stretchered off in Newcastle's friendly.

    Any thoughts on this:

    Given Kenny

    Lescott Huth Kelly Walker Simpson

    Silva Modric(Chelsea) N'Zogbia(Villa) Ramsey(Fab Gone) Valencia

    Odem Suarez Ba

Alot depends on transfers and if Valencia is rotated too much easy to bring in someone else for 8.

Your right, there are alot of 'ifs' in that team, not sure on Odem, Ba, Ramsey. And Lescott, Kelly, Walker(will they start?) also not sure on Modric even if he does move to Chelsea.

And yes, i am very critical. But i only try to help. 🙂

Yeah its all just a rough draft, lescott was getting plenty of game time at the end of last season and scored very well when I brought him in. Kelly and walker are big if's so Ill keep an eye on final friendlies closer to the start of the season. If Chelsea pay 30 mil for Modric surely they have to play him a good bit and I see him gettng plenty of assists. Ramsey will step into Fabregas's shoes if/when he goes Id say.

But Modric will be playing with Lampard who will be the more attacking of the 2, Modric will sit a bit deeper and create chance's there. Ramsey is decent shout if Fab goes. Simpson could be another if, will he be a definite?

Id be very surprised if Simpson wasnt a sure thing for RB. I also see Modric playing slightly more on the wing crossing in balls and knocking through balls through to Lamps and Torres.

If i was being critical i'd question Bent's involvement. Without young and downing he may not get anywhere near as many chances. Not to mention his poor Bonus point potential. The most he will usually get is the 4 points for a goal, which for his price is it worth it. I'd say get someone cheaper such as Odemwingie and upgrade your midfield and get a better player than tiote.

Everton put on a tragic display tonight losing 1-0 to Philadelphia. A lot of non regulars starting ofc but still many of the regulars were really uninspired. Baines was practically invisible. Apostolos Vellios and Ross Barkley came on at half time to lift Everton's game but to no avail. Barkley produced a few really good crosses, looking good for the future.

It was the same for Man City vs Vancouver Whitecaps. I was at the match and I was expecting Man City to come out guns blazing but the Whitecaps out played them for probably 2/3 of the match. I mean Man City ended up winning but talk about a boring match.
