Members Area Upgraded

Earlier today we upgraded the Members Area to the new site template, giving everything a facelift as we rolled out the ICT Scout Index – our Fantasy Football Player Index.

We will make a detailed post on the ICT index later this evening, although if you want some early insight into how this works you can refer to this earlier post which explains the basics.

Members can currently view Top 10’s for Influence, Creativity and Threat, plus the Index score, from last season via their new Members dashboard in the Members Area. Full ICT Index scores can then be gathered via the Player Stats > Fantasy Index tables. You can view these tables by position or for all players.

Much more on this to come later.

We are working to roll out the new site template to the main site. We’re currently still optimising the new design and will look to carry out further tests in the next week before announcing a release date.

        Do we know if he's trained much? Wigan's first 3 fixtures are very tasty, after which I'll be getting rid. Main issue with a) is Sessegnon's fixtures and Drogba's gametime. Malouda should be nailed on for that left wing role at least until Sturridge is back.

    any players you think are must haves for the start of the season??

    I'm thinking nani is playing great but he is a rotation risk so
    i'm really iffy about getting him in.

    actually, the only players im really confident of starting everygame is rooney and vidic.

          Like I say, you don't have to trust him, but clearly, short of everyone else being injured, there's no better guarantee for anyone playing.

        I actually find SAF's proclamations pretty unreliable. Usually it's the other way around, where he says someone is injured and won't play but they miraculously recover in time for the match but you never know.

      Well, Beckford is obviously an absolutely awful player who misses absolute sitters, and Saha is an oustanding player on the rare occasion he's fit.

      So I'd guess... Saha? Maybe?

        Having Saha in your team is the most frustrating thing you can do on FPL

        He will be in the starting line up, then inujure himself in the warm up. So you get rid, then he gets a hat-trick. Best thing is to ignore him!

    I've posted my team a couple of times and I have had some good advice off you all (thank you) but I was wondering....regarding my team (as shown below) the weakness seems Bosingwa. However I really want a Chelsea defender for the opening few fixtures so would you downgrade anyone to accommodate the likes of A.cole, if so who would that person be?

          I'd probably sack Bent. Nzog reliable for both goals and assists, Bent just for goals. Although I personally don't think it's a bad call having both for the first few fixtures.

    According to a credible source in Bremen, Per Mertesacker's transfer negotiations to an English Premier League club are at "an advanced stage", with Arsenal and now Liverpool being named as the possible destinations for the German international defender.

    Don't rate him very highly myself, but still.

          Scott Sinclair will have a great season.

          Watson will score more points than Moses.

          Sessegnon is a great shout.

          Anyone who doesn't have Bent for the first 8-10 weeks is

          Silva will be Player of the Year - less sure of his FPL value, though.

          Why is everyone forgetting Gareth Bale?

          Going for the Given/Ruddy GK option shows a distinct lack of enterprise.

          All the games will go ahead this Saturday.

          Taarabt will be marked out of the game 32 times. You'll be kicking yourself for not having him the other six times, mind.

          Newcastle, Norwich and Blackburn will go down.

    Whilst walking the dog this morning I was thinking can I get a player from each of the 'supposed' big 5 in my team (assumuing the big 5 are, Man U, Chelsea, City & Arsenal - could change to Liverpool).

    I've managed to... just as well as attacking coverage from Villa & Fulham:-

    Given (De Vries)
    Luiz Kompany Simpson Orr Taylor (Swansea) – rotate 4.0m defenders
    Silva Malouda Nani N’Zogbia (Moses)
    RVP Holt Johnson

    Obviously my forward line relies on RVP being fit, but he could change to Carroll / Surazez / Rooney.

    My only worry is that my att is maybe a little weak and i'm taking a gamble on Holt, but he could rotate with Moses.

    Thoughts welcome.....

    As I cant fit Malouda into my team for GW1, and they have a tough game at Stoke anyways, is it a good idea to swap Given, Al-Habsi and Cole for Cech, Ruddy, and Warnock, saving 1m to upgrade Silva to Malouda for GW2??

      Personally i will be leaving Arsenal defenders alone. Enrique is good if he joins Liverpool and is a regular, wouldnt have him and Simpson if both are at Newcastle.

      I would take a punt on Holt first game at Wigan, i think he will be a handful.

      good question - I am pondering the same conundrum - Malouda has the potential to score a ton but is less of a nailed on starter depending upon the Chelsea formation. Silva is a safer bet probably all round

      Suarez is likely to come off the bench if he doesn't start, so its not an all or nothing bet unfortunately
