Yet again both Manchester clubs in are involved in Sunday Premier League action. With most fantasy managers cheering on their captain today, the Dugout Discussion opens to follow all the action from the three games on show.

We start at Old Trafford as United look to open up an eight point gap with a victory against Everton. The team news from the match-up is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Man United XI: De Gea, Rafael Da Silva, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Nani, Rooney, Welbeck.

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Neville, Osman, Heitinga, Gibson, Pienaar, Fellaini, Jelavic.

Nani returns to United’s starting eleven for the first time in eight games, with Ashley Young taking his place on the substitutes bench. Facing his former employer, Darron Gibson starts for Everton.

Then it’s over to bottom of the league Wolves, where City are in town needing three points regardless of the earlier result. Kicking off at the same time, Liverpool and West Brom are also in action, with Roy Hodgson back at Anfield for the first time since departing as Liverpool manager.

    Sold Aguero for Tevez. Sold Rooney for Ade in anticipation for DGW and he doesn't play.
    Is a 16pt hit advisable to remedy the situation and get 10 DGW players ?

    Just have to say I hope the EA bonus index is gone next season.
    It really ruins a game when you start Worrying about shots off target instead of who is actually playing well!

        Yep, they were often annoying, but it was better IMO. A shot off target is better than no shot IMO.

        I would love the UCL system of recovered balls though.

          Yeah but from what I've seen on here the Index has caused a lot less major arguments over BPs. Some of the ones that had been given out before by the "expert" were absolutely ridiculous.

      I agree with this. Bonus will end up going to someone like nasri who just doesn't play as well. They should be rewarded for having a go, not punished

      Kinda think it should be 50% the old way and 50% the new way. So you have an "expert" who decides on 3 players for the BPs, then the Index system decides which 3 should get them. If they correlate then that player gets the BPs, if they don't then they'd just need a system to decide who to listen to (the expert or the index). I think that's the fairest way.

          Best way to do it, purely statistical doesn't work but neither does purely opinion based. A mix is preferable.

    With the iregulatory of bonus points, there's only one fool proof way to sort it... remove them completely.

    Although I'd prefer a statistical way, as it is now, than incompetent people like last season who gave them out willy nilly.

    For me it's either statistical or nothing.

      they need better coefficients and maybe some sort of a premium possible for special occasions when outstanding performances are not reflected in the ppi and vice versa, i.e. some kind of bonus points for the ppi index based on the overall impression

      They had a list for each team. On each list there were three names in order of 1,2,3. If a team won then those 3 players got BP's. In the case of Blackpool the list was something like:
      1: Charlie Adam
      2: Charlie Adam
      3: Charlie Adam.
