Sky Fantasy Football Arrives At The Scout

We’re delighted to announce that the Sky Fantasy game will be our second supported game this season, with an official Fantasy Football Scout League now open, complete with a rather nice prize for the winner.

The Scout League will go hand in hand with an array of coverage of the Sky Fantasy game for the upcoming season. You may have missed Sky’s early launch last week: the headlines are, the game is free to play and there’s £25,000 for the overall winner.

Over the season, we’ll be producing a weekly focus on the movers and shakers within the Scout League, giving airtime to those at the top of the leaderboard and the standout performers in any given Gameweek.

Prior to the big kick-off, we’ll also delve into the rule set and roll out our analysis of player picks over the next few weeks before the season gets underway on Saturday August 18.

As far as prizes go, the overall Scout League winner will pick up a Samsung Blu Ray home cinema system worth up to £600 – not to be sniffed at. We’re also hoping to get a monthly prize sorted, too; stay tuned for more on that.

For now, though, why not join myself and Mark on the ladder – the league is “FFScout” and the Pin is 8004519. We’ll add details for both in the middle column of the homepage. Click here to get involved.

Hmmm not sure if I can be bothered with the hassle of both games - I went through a phase of having more than 1 fantasy team (against the rules I know :O ) but it just got too confusing.

I spend probably about 4 hours a week on just the one team at times!

Wouldn't surprise me if Vidic & Kompany were both £7.5m but could easily both be £8.0m.

Historically, you don't tend to get huge falls based on an injury in the previous season as the developers know that the potential for poitns is still there.

                Fairly ridiculous conspiracy theory but:

I wonder if Utd agreed to pull out of a Moutinho deal if Spurs lowered their Modric price. Spurs could have been left with a midfield hole if Modric went to madrid and Moutinho Utd....

Bit of a dilema on the Telegraph FF

    Huth and Nasri

    Shotton and Hazard.

Standard Clean Sheets/Assists/Goals get most of the points, no bonus points.

Really like Hazard so will be going with him ( unless he absolutely implodes in preseason)

Cuellar for a budget option? O'neill played him a lot at Villa and they shored up a bit when he joined.

Personally I don't want Lucas at United, although he may have all the skill and flair he tends to showboat but doesn't offer what we need to replace Scholes....someone who can pass. That's why i'd much rather have either one of Modric, Montinho or Dembele than Lucas, end of!

I think it's last chance saloon for Anderson, who, the be frankly honest, has been a pile of cr@p since he came to OT, but I still think Fergie might want to venture into the market.

And Baines is just a filler until Fabio is fully trained defensively.

Anderson was brilliant in his first season, dominating Essien, Fabregas and Gerrard all in the same season. He's had various awful injuries though after that which made him a) fat and b) very inconsistent. I think if he stayed fit over an entire season he'd be back to his early best. Big if though.

He may stick with him but that hasn't stopped United actually bidding for Moutinho if I understand correctly. Carrick, Cleverley, Anderson and Moutinho to move forward with Scholes and Giggs popping in and out of the side.

Problem is though, Anderson is a bloomin' AM as is Cleverley but can play CM better than him and what about Powell in a season or two?

I think it's detrimental to players' development, especially with the many young players United have now. But, as it's United, injuries will pile up and the selection hand will be forced more often than not.

I wouldn't say Cleverley is an AM. Anderson certainly was at Porto but fergie didn't seem to like playing him there, probably because he can't shoot.

Think Moutinho is nailed on for spurs. He and AVB seem like BFFs.

Yeah I would like to see a Carrick and Cleverley partnership more often, it's just that at the start of last season the Anderson-Cleverley 'CM' duo was far too attacking for my liking for a 442.

If Moutinho goes to Spurs and Modric goes to Madrid with both looking likely I can realistically see Baines as being our final bit of business as Fergie will not spend for the sake of it.

Totally agree about Clev and Ando being too attacking. Thing is, even if Modric did go to Madrid and Moutinho Spurs there are still a wealth of incredible CMs out there.

Sahin? Thiago? Dembele? Any of them would walk into our injury ravaged midfield.

I'll have to take your word for Sahin since I didn't get to see him at Dortmund and it looks like I'll never see him play again. I can't see Barca letting Thiago go, he's got real talent and is gradually getting let into that side.

Dembele is a good shout indeed but I haven't heard any reliable noise that Fergie has earmarked him and so I'm not sure he'll enter any business at a late stage (well for him, considering the pre-season tour).

To be fair, I'd be happy with just Baines. We'll be fine in all departments if we don't get such a ridiculous injury list... maybe that's a big if for United.

André Villas-Boas: I've learned lessons from Chelsea experience

Nice way to say I was wrong !!! U ruined our season god damn it. Why u have been so stubborn. U thought too much about the future. This is PL that we are talking about not some Micky mouse league. U need 3 years at least to change the way we were wining. Let me repeat wining god damn it. U don't change a winning team !!!

Thank god for UCL title !!!

"From my understanding the Chelsea experience was maybe not so gratifying in terms of success but very gratifying professionally for me. I learned a couple of things that maybe I've done wrong and I've learned in a club you have to trust the right people at the right time."

Well in the last 5 years we have. Gradually I guess we could change but to order Drogba to play high defensive line and to get red card? Torres too? Come on !!!! No logic according to me

I think he's a great manager, considering his age. He did ruin Chelsea's season last year, but his tactics just weren't suited and the like of Lampard/Terry didn't want to take orders from someone who was nearly the same age as them. Think he'll flourish with Spurs over the coming years

Sorry for my voice but I am furious he needed one year to admit his mistake. Without him we won the CL and FA cup. That must mean something. I don't like this new managers, they come and suddenly they think they've invented the game, every team is Barcelona. Yeah right.

Adding Mata and similar players would have been great and gradually to change the style if needed, but this regret is too late. And we were so supporting him. We played game with wingers without any proper winger at the club, beside Mata. Ramires was forced to play at wing and Sturridge. Experiment, this isn't some club like Beira Mar. Try that on the training and bring players that suits u. Thank god we sacked him.

He could have been the next Wenger or SAF if he was little bit smarter. And now he goes in public I've learned something. Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Andre !!!!

Erm, RDM also played Ramires and Sturridge on the wing? Iniesta isn't a winger but has played there too?

Not sure what your reference to "new managers" is either - Jose Mourinho did pretty well as a new manager when he came over did he not?

The players were against AVB from the start at Chelsea and from a neutral point of view, that's why it never worked for him there rather than the fact he is a bad manager, as you seem to be suggesting. Bad managers don't boss any domestic leagues and european competitions. The Portuguese league isn't as strong as EPL but it's strong nonetheless, not sure if you remember last season when Benfica & Sporting met the Manchester clubs in Europe?

You need to drop the line that he is an awful manager just because he didn't work out at Chelsea last season ... the above rant comes across as really childish and petulant.

"Kept Chelsea in two competitions". You mean when Chelsea lost 3-1 to Napoli? That's hardly keeping anyone in the competition. I think AVB had the right idea, but you can't walk into a club and alieanate half the team and the press for that matter.

I think its almost guaranteed that whoever does well in pre-season, will tank at the start.
