The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Eight – The Manchurian

Granville may well be exotic but he’s not Manchurian, despite what the spellcheck told me a few weeks back. He’s also a happy man. Winning on all fronts, he’s dishing out “one helluva beating” to yours truly right now.

Reveling in his position of power, the Hungarian Mancunian brings me to task on my jerky knee transfers, with the regular ScoutCast favourites scattered around that particular discussion.

Get your ears around our foreign tongues via this link or stream the nonsense through the player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

This week and likely beyond. I have him @ 9.0 ... at that price, on a team not yet firing like they could, he could still be a steal.

I've always thought he's the Rooney of City. Indispensable, imo.

Besides, I have other woes to contemplate.

The problem is whether the Rooney of City will score enough points. My thought is to keep until they are out of the UCL (midweek) and then swap for Kun.

I am guessing you have already brought in Fellaini.

Sadly, I've decided to innoculate myself from Fellaini by bringing him in.

As for value - meh. I don't play the value game. Let's see what happens when/if Silva returns. If Tevez doesn't have to do as much MF work, he can play upfield to receive the ball. If he continues his 'meh' returns, I'll think about him out in a few weeks.

FISO tracks NTI rather than risers/fallers. So he'll keep climbing in % but can't rise again until Sat night when they'll be a 0.1 rise and FISO will show an ulmightly negative NTI on Sunday when it resets the excess NTI.

TotalFPL might have lost the plot this season in accuracy but they do show 0% for players who have already risen 3 times do worth having a quick peek before bringing anyone in (and then ignoring who they think will rise/fall!)

I have this exact same headache.

I've devised a plan to overcome the problem though. I'm going to buy Geoff Cameron and start Jaask, so I'm then covered on both defences, incase 1 or the other get a CS.

Well that's why I'm asking the question!

Think Fulham's odds of keeping a CS are better than both stk and whm. If I don't play Hangeland this week, why have him?

Well if I were you, I'd start Wilkinson. At no point this season has Fulham's defence looked as solid as it has been. Whereas West Ham and Stoke have been the most solid in the league. And like I said, if you bench both Bego and Wilkinson and Stoke go and get a CS, you will be kicking yourself.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Although the way West Ham are keeping CS it feels wrong to bench one of their defenders at home to Stoke of all teams!

At least part the reason that Zizou's volley is so bloody good - it won the Champions League.

As a United fan I can completely see why you'd like Rooney's more, it's a subjective thing.

I still love Ginola's vs Barnsley an enormous ammount as it was my first game.

    hello,

just hoping one person recognizes me and can pass this on...

i was once quite active around here, and ive made many good relationships (of the online variety anyway), sadly Ive pretty much disappeared since this summer, i think the Euros and the creation of the FFS UEFA council , around June-July, was the last time I was on here every day. Just wanted to let the community know that Ive been afflicted with a terrible medical condition, and I will be requiring surgery. ive still kept an active FPL team throughout, but i just havent been able to commit time this season.

I live in the States, and am struggling to make ends meet to afford the surgery, but if things work out, I will hopefully be on the road to recovery by the end of the year. Just wanted to say I miss you guys and hope to be back in the fold soon. I may be spending 16 hours a day on here during recovery, because i wont be doing much else.

Until then, may your arrows be green, and COYS!!!!

Ok lads I have reached one conclusion.

atm Sunderland are not in enough form attacking wise to make a call over who, if anyone (bar Fletcher) is worth getting for DGW. I will monitor Larsson and AJ for the next 2-3 weeks.

    Also,. Turner, Shorey or Gorkks?

All similarly priced, Gorrks and Turner maybe have a bigger goal threat, Shorey more assist threat and set-pieces. Gorrks and Shorey have DGW but Turner possibly a better CS prospect?

Is Santi -> Silva a worthwhile move this week with the below squad? Feels like a very 50:50 transfer, although with RVP, Berba and Ba up front, I can't see me getting Aguero or Tevez in at this rate, which means Silva is the only MCY coverage I'd be interested in. The lure of Giroud or Walcott from GW15 when Arsenal's fixtures get really good is also very tempting, and I'm not sure I'd want to double up if I still have Santi in my team. The alternative is for me to save it this week.

    Jaask
    Baines, Hughes, McCartney
    Bale, Santi, Fellaini, Taarabt
    RVP, Berba, Ba

    Federici, Michu, Cuellar, Clyne

I'm sticking with Santi this week. His underlying stats are still great and you have to think that there are going to be goals vs Spurs.

Save the transfer and enjoy the extra flexibility you have next week.

You not tempted to go for Giroud or Walcott over Santi? Decent £ saving, and they both seem more likely to score the goals.
