The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Three – Wrapped Up

Possibly the most un-Christmas-like Christmas Podcast we’ve ever recorded, thanks mainly to Granville being banned from editing in the entire MP3 of Dean Martin’s “Let it Snow” but also because neither of us had time to sort our pressies. To be fair, I’m surprised that Granville felt an ounce Christmas spirit after Santi’s showing at Reading opened up a 40-point “chasm” in our min-league. Do I have it all wrapped up already?

To his credit, my co-host takes it all on his bearded chin, joining me to discuss the Felliani fallout, its impact on the transfer trends in “all aboard”, a preview of the weekend fixtures and provided his assistance in the management of the ScoutCast team: an outfit which plundered no less than 80 points thanks to Santi’s haul and Reading’s bulging net.

Unitie the bow and rip this one open via this link, or stream the merriment via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just realised how ridiculous it is people asking whether to captain RVP or Suarez (imo anyway). The only reason you captain someone over RVP is that they get involved in 2 goals because you work on the assumption RVP will get a goal. Suarez has only done this twice this season. Unless he's facing Reading I fail to see his captaincy appeal.

"Oh but he might score!" You may say. But in your heart you know: RVP will call and maybe raise on your bet.

this is why my only dilemma this week is whether to go Silva or RvP. Under normal circumstances I'd never captain Silva, but he has Reading at home

I'm going with Silva because I am willing to take a gamble that he'll get 2 assists. I'll feel fine if he doesn't because it'll be quite a shock and I won't feel silly afterwards.

well if he gets something similar to his returns v Villa, a goal and 2 assists, that'll do me for a (c)

in my opinion, 6/7 points doubled is enough to constitute a captaincy success and Silva is a strong favourite to return something similar this weekend. Just the way I look at it. Of course, he isn't the most ideal captain most weeks nor is he the best captaincy choice this weekend.

Fulhams form is awful, they were dreadful against QPR, ifthey play like that at Anfield, Suarez will get at the very least one goal. Will probably opt for him over RVP.

There's a chasm between "at least getting a goal" and "surely going to get 2 goals or 1 goal and assist". VP is more likely to score 2 imo so it's a "match RVP/lose to him" at best.

Liverpool at ome will create a lo of chances v Fulham, and Suarez will be involve in many of them. i actually fancy him to score big. UTDs goals come from all areas, often shared about.I basically feel that Suarez has a greater chance of scoring more than once than RVP.

Fair point. I did say "imo" so I do think you could be right but personally I can't see the combination of Liverpool creating lots + Suarez finishing well enough to do this.

Cazorla? Good luck to you. I think it may come off if Walcott is up front again since Cazorla had a striker's attacking stats v Reading according to the scout cast and also because Podolski and Gibbs should hopefully help him out.

Right, give me a striker in place of Berbatov... have Tevez and RVP
    Defoe
    Ba
    Torres
    Aguero (-4)
Rooney (-4 and Stam in defence)
Others (not Suarez, I have standards!)

My personal opinion is that he will start this weekend, not that im suggesting Dzeko to anyone. For me this would be a no no only because of the fixture Suarez has. But its a ballsy move that could come off. The move would also finance Silva in for Fellaini if I remember correctly.

What I gathered from that scoutcast:

    - My team is useless compared to the scout team.
    - Granville is the FPL equivalent of Gill from the Simpsons.
    - If Granville plans on getting Tevez this week its time to (c) RVP.
    - Yaya is gonna be a huge fail (hopefully).

It's me vs Mark in a crucial Serie A game this week. 6th vs 7th. Same points. Same front 7 last GW. A win would put us in the CL spot probably with one game of the season to go.

Heavy hitting support for Puncheon here.

If I swap out Sess for a hit for him now, it means next week I can do either Morrison[wba] or Berbasloth direct to someone more expensive next week....

I am thinking Sess v MCI next week he has to go, so maybe I should just take a hit now and save 0.1 and save a hit next week....

          yeah fair point

I should probably just switch it off and go to bed - I just had it in mind to get him in in next week or two and rising to 4.8 made me think maybe I should just do it now as I am sure I will take a hit when I do it next week or after....

          Team looking like this:-

          Jussi
          Bassong Zabaleta Enrique
          Michu Sess Silva Pienaar
          RVP Suarex Berbasloth

Newcastle look leaky & qpr need wins

N southampton without llana might not be as good

This is plying on my mind I think taraabt will either explode or fail not in between

      Taraabt for mine.
His spot in the hole in a team that have just won their first match seems very promising to me.
