In the end this is how I eventually got Mata:
Downgraded Ba to Lambert, downgraded Fonte to Shorey. Sold Fellaini left me with 10m which got me Mats with 0.1 left over! Thanks for the advice anyway, I didn't feel happy to sell Michu so with a bit of downgrading I felt Fellaini was a more sensible selling choice 🙂

This is my team for the DGW. A -4 but my wildcard is still in check. Will probably take another -4 the week after to bring in another two DGW'ers, then wildcard after to create the best team possible for the season ahead.
That said, to me, Suarez, RVP, Berbatov, Mata, Bale, Walcott and maybe even Luiz are season keepers for me, so not planning radical changes.Open Controls

I and many people will have the problem of just wanting the same players back after the DGW fiasco and not being able to afford them on WC due to getting them in at such low prices (Shawcross, Michu, Suarez to name a few). This Chelsea DGW is very overrated IMO.
1) Playing Stoke away so I anticipate very few goals
2) They will smash Soton but Benitez will rotate. I get people say he wont after the QPR disaster, but he will especially with a league cup semi and a game vs a major rival in Arsenal at the weekend.
Best way to go is get Mata and (C) him. That's it.Open Controls

13th Jan: Stoke vs Chelsea: PL
17th Jan: Chelsea vs Southampton: PL
21st Jan: Chelsea vs Arsenal: PL
4 games in 12 days if you count the C1C game
3 games in 8 days for the PL fixtures with Arsenal and Stoke(a) as they key games.
I think there will be some serious rotation for the Southampton game. Key players like Mata could very well get a rest. I wouldn't go crazy over this DGW. It could all end in tears.Open Controls
