The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Four – Resumption

Back for 2013, fully refreshed, slightly rusty and balancing the same chips on our shoulders, Granville are I make a return to the podcast studio.

The New Year presents my beleaguered co-host with a 51-point gap to bridge as I spent Christmas “ho-ho-ing” about three midfield hat-tricks, leaving Granville to roll out one mighty miffed in this week’s episode.

Elsewhere, we pick at the double Gameweek buffet, eagerly scoffing on the Chelsea canapés whilst wondering if Rafa has hidden something nasty in the vol-a-vents. We rinse that down with the latest transfers in and out in “all aboard”, preview all the weekend fixtures and carry out the latest emergency surgery on the ailing ScoutCast team.

Normal service is resumed via this link or you can pour this straight into your ears via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

We got one online at oo.com.au for $400, and that was an absolute disaster, it was a glorified fan... sent it straight back and gave them hell since we had to live without A/C for over a week (it was only one day but that's what we told them 😉 )... We got our second one in Big W for $370... it's a Coolway.. does a very good job... and since it has a one year warranty, we're just gonna return it in a few months and get our money back... has to be done... 😀

I was living in Melbourne last summer, the dry heat there was very hard to handle for a pasty white f**ker like me...

Incredibly tempted by a one-week punt on Hazard.

I've had Cazorla since he was 9.0 so I could sell him for 9.3, giving me enough for a straight swap to Hazard (already have Walcott and Sagna for next DGW) for a -4. Then for next week I simply reverse the swap, any thoughts? Should probably mention I already have Mata and Azpi for Chelsea coverage.

This is true, but I wll probably take a hit, or have 2 fts for GW24, to address that, and downgrade one of Gibbs/Sagna/Luiz, and upgrade one of those two.

              I went with

              Begovic
              Clichy, Zabs, Nastastic
              Michu, Walcott, Fellani, Mata, Bale
              Berbatov, RVP

              Bunn, Cameron, Wilson, Pog

I've done pathetic this season though so I doubt it will pay off 🙁

haha yeah I'm kind of hoping that when a Man City defender doesn't play - he doesn't come on at all, allowing Cameron or Wilson to come on

I had Turnbull + Mata but then it seems like Cech is gonna be back! I could always get Turnbull back in as I have .2 left over - hopefully Captain Mata can do it for me

Ah cool, I can afford that too, but I can't foresee giving up Bale just to get Baines in...

Very solid.. what it lacks in Bale, it makes up for in having 10 very strong potentially explosive outfield players... any one of those could bring home double figures any given week...

If this Fellaini to Chelsea talk is gaining any substance, then he will be nobodies Fantasy player in my opinion. He'll sit right where Luiz is, and/or next to him, and certainly wont be playing OOP like he does at Everton.

Mata all day in that case.

More likely to be playing further forward. Defensive midfielders are ten-a-penny. Would be a waste not to use Marouane's attacking skills and aerial prowess.Torres might be on his bike. And McCarthy will be a FF bargain if he goes to Everton.

It's always looked like a matter of "when" rather than "if", but we've been hoping the "when" would be next summer. $25 million would be about a $10 million profit on the deal, and to be fair, it is unlikely that his price tag / perceived value could get much higher than it is right now, so the cold-hearted economist says that now is the time to sell, but....... ouch.

Hi DZ-ers...struggling with my WC with one day to go

    Which option do you prefer?

    Team A
    Bego Bunn
    Luiz Gibbs BAINES Demel Mariappa
    Mata Bale Walcott Fell (Guthrie)
    Rvp Ba LAMBERT

*Pros: Baines + a DGWer in Lambert + 1.7 cash*
*Cons: have to sell Suarez (bought 9.4, now 10.4)*

    Team B
    Bego Bunn
    Luiz Gibbs DISTIN Demel Mariappa
    Mata Bale Walcott Fell (Guthrie)
    Rvp Ba SUAREZ

*Pros: keeping Suarez (preserve value) + Baines return less attacking points*
*Cons: Suarez has tricky fixtures + unknown Sturridge effect*

    Thanks lads

Given I have my 2nd WC in tact, and would be fairly happy with playing Szczesny for the foreseeable, which option looks best from the below? Luiz's not worth the downgrades eh?

    A) TURNBULL, GIBBS, Turner & Marveaux
    B) Bunn, LUIZ, Harte & Guthrie

    SCZCESNY, xxx
    Baines, xxx, Demel, xxx, Mariappa
    MATA, WALCOTT, Bale, Fellaini, xxx
    Rvp, BA, LAMBERT

I think B is slightly better....you have to us a transfer to take out Turnbull in A.

Other option I can think of is Cashley instead of Luiz and use the 0.2 diff to upgrade Harte to a 4.0

Really? B) has 1 less DGWer and 2 more REA players (making 3 in my team?!).

If I went A then I'd keep Turnbull in there until I WC again - happy to play Szczesny every week (this obviously changes if he gets injured).

A also leaves enough in the bank for the option of Ba -> Tevez next week
