The Weekend Team News

John Terry returns for Chelsea ahead of the double Gameweek, though Rafa Benitez confirmed earlier that while the defender is in the squad, he will not start tomorrow’s game at Stoke. Petr Cech will travel with the squad to Stoke and will be assessed prior to the Britannia clash, while Benitez also revealed Demba Ba had a hamstring niggle in midweek and Fernando Torres was suffering from a stomach bug but both forwards are fully-fit once again:

Sergio Aguero is ruled out of City’s trip to Arsenal but could return in time for next weekend’s home clash with Fulham. David Moyes expects Leighton Baines to recover from an ankle problem in time for tomorrow’s home game with Swansea, though is continuing to monitor the left-back’s progress.

Nani and Anderson are back for United but Wayne Rooney remains on the sidelines as the league leaders welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford. Rooney could, however, return in time for next Wednesday’s FA Cup replay with West Ham. Aston Villa will be without Darren Bent, Marc Albrighton and Chris Herd for the visit of Southampton – Ron Vlaar has returned to training but Paul Lambert is wary of selecting him, due to a number of weeks on the sidelines.

Carlos Cuellar and Danny Rose are both sidelined with hamstring injuries for Sunderland, while Stephane Sessegnon should shrug off an ankle problem ahead of West Ham’s visit to the Stadium of Light. Martin Jol has ruled out Kerim Frei and Momo Diarra, while Steve Sidwell is a doubt for the Cottagers’ home game with Wigan.

We’ve collected all this in our team news section and added our current predicted lineups ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. You can keep in touch with the very latest via our twitter feed as always.

I don't have Gerrard and Bale. But right now my eyes on Gerrard. I feel Gerrard can do more than Walcott even with DGW.

Just look at his stats Buddy. With Suarez. Gerrard will get a lot of assist and goals.

He is taking the PK as well. Arsenal will get so tired with DGW and against big teams.

Fair point. I'm getting Gerrard in after this weekends fixtures. But a Theo playing OoP, on most the set-pieces bar penalties and chasing a new contract meaning Wengers walking on egg-shells trying keeping him happy is a FPL must IMO.

Walcott (c) for the DGW is a no-brainer really.

Yes. I'm thinking Gerrard in with Mata or Walcott out for next week. That's what im still thinking. I will see what Gerrard can do against my team this week. even if he doesn't score anything but threatening for us I might think about Him.

Yes his fixtures are bad. But i could sell him after his norwich game. and Get Bale.

Now i still have walcott. I don't wanna lose him because his price could get even higher next week in DGW. But i'm worry about the consistent of Gerrard

Bale, Walcott, Santi already collected hattrick. trio 9mill

Gerrard could be the next one. So who knows
Can't forget Mata as well. I remember in some of games when he scored 2 goals before He almost got hattrick too.

I would save your WC until GW 24...if you use it now or even next week you will be stuck with a cookie cut squad. GW 24 WC = better chance have incorporating some differentials. Only way I'd consider using a WC this week or next is if I still had my other WC.

Stupidly confirmed this team this morning; ie before the press conference, as I was so excited about gaining value on Ba.

Stick with this or bring Federici and Ba in for Turnbull and Suarez?

        Turnbull
        Shaw - Luiz - Gibbs
        Mata - Michu - Fellaini - Puncheon
        Suarez - Lambert - RVP

        Jussi - Walcott - Demel - Davies

sawns can outbid liverpool, whooo would have thought it.

more then 50% of swan squad is from home nations, i dont think they have any problems with that..

its like they just want to get one over the old manager, they know he wants him, everyone does, with 7 million they can strengthen the Center mid position or one could center back for cover, they are really strong on the wings as it is.

Those that are getting TWO Southampton defenders.......Are you retarded?? Fair enough getting one in if your on a WC as they are cheap and bench fodder that allow you to bolster your squad elsewhere. But TWO!! Southampton will not keep a CS in either of there games so not worth it IMO,

        People just have DGW fever.

The same will apply next week for WHM bar they are slightly more resiliant and score regularly.

Hmmm City are third best in the league for shots conceded in the box, Villa are second bottom. Southampton also overwhelmed Villa 4-1 in the reverse fixture. We do seem to have problems scoring against the biggest teams this year.

I was thinking about benching one of Michu and Fellaini yesterday, I don't see both getting points in a tight game between Everton and Swansea. It just seems hard to justify playing Walcott over one of them. You know how Arsenal have struggled to score against the biggest teams this season.

I'd also be playing both Sagna and Walcott against City, surely this is not a very good bet?

I might consider benching Fellaini. Just. Swansea defend very tight away.

Hard choice, probably Lennon. Puncheon has Aston Villa's terrible defence and 2 points from Chelsea. Cazorla is Arsenal's best chance to beat City, with long shots and set pieces sure to go. Fellaini is usually involved in much of Everton's offensive play and if they score some (they look like they will), he is a good bet.

But Fellaini's last match was only okay, and Lennon's in good form, so... I'd maybe coin toss between them.

90% sure it will be Kagawa. Hernandez can score off the bench too though, it's tricky!

I can't see myself benching Michu or Walcott to make way for him though. Kind of hoping he doesn't start in all actuality so I can just bench him 😉

What's makes you think this Mr Lineups, couldn't be Kags and Hernandez?

In a home game? Doubt it.

Valencia better against the threat of GJ's runs forward too, and Young is nailed on the left right now.
