FFS Paddy Power Cup – Semi Final Results

The Semi-Finals of the Paddy Power Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII were finally completed last night after Chelsea and Southampton’s 2-2 draw at the Bridge. We find a familiar name in the final, with site regular Wild Rover clinching his place thanks to a 94-75 win over Mr KK…

Now up to 146th in the overall Fantasy Premier League (FPL) standings, Wild Rover’s decision to wield his winter wildcard for double Gameweek 22 paid off handsomely, with Demba Ba, Rickie Lambert, Juan Mata, Luke Shaw and David Luiz all racking up the returns. He loaded up on three double Gameweek 23 players last week (Joe Cole, Guy Demel and Bacary Sagna) and has already made a transfer prior to Saturday’s deadline.

Nevertheless, Wild Rover remains the underdog for the final – a clear sign of the level of competition in this year’s Scout Cup. Standing in his way of the silverware is MileHigh, who has now moved up to 18th in the world and arrives in the final courtesy of a 90-69 win over Ange1Range1. MileHigh also had five players for last week’s double, with Ba, Mata, Shaw and Luiz joined by Jason Puncheon. He still has his wildcard intact but already has four players (Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs, Mark Noble and Guy Demel) in his squad for the upcoming double, with a free transfer still to play.

With both sides looking well-placed to take advantage of Arsenal and West Ham’s respective pair of fixtures, we’re set for quite a battle all the way through to Wednesday evening’s fixture at the Emirates.

On behalf of Fantasy Football Scout, good luck to you both.

Meanwhile, Mr.KK and ange1range1 are left to settle matters in the third place play-off.

1ange1range169 – 90MileHigh
2Wild rover94 – 75Mr.KK

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Play Azpilcueta or Luiz this week?

    Demel, Gibbs, ???

I know Luiz got most votes when I asked a few days ago but Azpil looking like great assist potential from crosses.

Azpil was done for pace a few times and coud be rotated depending on how Rafa saw it, since Ivan has now had a rest. I assume Luiz will still play even if moved to dmf so i would say Luiz for stability (as much as you can have!).

Should I use my transfer to add another Arsenal/West Ham player (taking me up to three) or to swap out Cazorla for Walcott?

Evans (Could be rotated with Smalling or Ferdinand at any time)
Azpi (Could be rotated with Ivanovic)
Gibbs(Arsenal aren't getting many clean sheets)
ShawX(Cameron and Wilson offer similar returns for 1.5m-2m less)

Zab, could be rotated with Maicon/Ivan

Will weigh it up over the next 2 weeks, as I know Evans is now first choice. If you have decent back-up the odd game here or there is not an issue for someone who you know will play most games

There is a theory to this. Gerrard will probably be told to test Bunn from distance, a few times this season, Bunn has spilled some long shots, potentially this could allow Suarez to sweep up

Looking at Fiso, There are alot of transfers being done. Think some people are going to be in for a rude awakening when games are called off on Saturday morning. Advice from me : Do not do any transfers this GW untill you know what games are going ahead on Saturday!. Sunday's games should be ok.

Think there are 4 games on Sat where away fans are having to travel 150-200 miles plus. These games could well be cancelled early if the forecast is correct. 3 out of those 4 games are on the western side of country where the weather warnings are.

So the impending punishment that Brendan Rodgers will dish out to Suarez means he will be on the woodwork, and Sturridge starting without question?

Makes Sturridge that much more appealing no?

Just a fine and a slapped wrist though? Rodgers looks pretty ticked off (yes im watching SSN).

(Not including the first game week of the season)

DGW 2 - Majority (well a lot) Captained Sess, returned 20points

DGW 3 - Majority (well a lot) Captained Mata, returned 32 points

DGW 4 - Majority Captaining Walcott returned..... (i am not feeling positive about this captaincy choice, thinking a non-DGW player may surpass him or even an unusual DGW player)

    Sigh...choices, choices

Do we have statistics on who was captained most for the DGW? I knot iced that this was the first week that Rvp was most picked captain and vice captain. This will be down to a lot of dead teams having captained him and the 'live' teams vice captaining him. Maybe mata wasn't the most popular amongst live teams. Maybe all the Luiz and Ba captain era wanted to remain silent

Well I used the term "Majority" loosely and referring to mainly the FFS community. Even then there were a lot of Mata and Sess captainers in my ML and many of them (i think) are not on FFS.
Some despite the DGW chose to (C) RVP (not mocking them) and there were a number of Luiz and Hazard captainers on here
