This means you can participate in the free FFS Private Pool and also chance your arm in the Main Pool. Your selected team can be entered for both simultaneously.

Once you have your team Champions League squad chosen, you then place your stake money for the Main Pool. The amount of stake you invest affects the amount of winnings you claim should your team be amongst the to 10% in the final rankings.

The stake money put in by all the managers entered will create the prize pot.

Your team will accumulate prize points depending on how high up you finish in the final rankings.

1st – 100 points per £1 stake invested
2nd -5th – 20 points per £1 stake invested
6th-10th 10 points per £1 stake invested
11th-20th 5 points per £1 stake invested
21st-40th – 3 points per £1 stake invested
41st – Remaining entries – 2 points per £1 stake invested

The prize pool is then divided by the total points collected by the winning managers to discover the dividend paid out per point. Each winning manager will then be paid out the per point dividend x total points accumulated.

For example:
A total prize pool is £25,000 with a total of 5,000 points accumulated by all winning managers. This will result in a payout per point of £5.00.

Payout scenarios:
You finish 1st having invested £1 on team entry, your payout will be £500.
You finish 1st having invested £10 on team entry, your payout will be £5,000.
You finish 4th having invested £10 on team entry, your payout will be £1,000.
You finish 36th having invested £100 on team entry, your payout will be £1,500.

    Quick poll, fellas.

    A) Aguero and Demel (and keep GJ)
    B) Aguero and JEvans (-4)

I know for one week only it doesn't make sense, but sooner or later I'd have to get rid of Demel.

Exactly...Arsenal have been pushed out of being a top 2 side by big money spenders City and Chelsea, anyone who doesn't see that must be blind. Chelsea and City came from nowhere and splurged the cash...Arsenal haven't done things that way yet are maintaining a healthy success as a football club in a time where they are getting overshadowed by these big spenders. I feel sorry for Arsenal fans who dream of past glory but it's just the way things have gone the last 5 years or so. Arsene isn't to blame for that side of things and he's more passionate about his club than most of these guys who walk through revolving doors at chelsea. I just don't see how Arsenal fans don't realise that he is sad also that they can't achieve what they once achieved. But the important thing is he has built a great club with his own style/philosophy and as a neutral I very much hope he doesn't leave because he's part of the spirit there.

David Moyes is probably an over-achieving manager for his club and Arsene Wenger has been in the last few years an under-achieving manager for his club.

I know Arsenal can't be expected to win the EPL every year, but at least they should challenge. And maybe win a cup?

'Arsene Wenger has been in the last few years an under-achieving manager for his club'

I respectfully disagree. In reality, Arsenal could only really be expected to fall behind Chelsea, United and City, and they've pretty much done exactly that for the last few years, coming in 4th consistently and getting champions league consistently. Just my opinion of course.

Just don't get the underachieving label -- the goal is pretty clearly to go Top 4 finish every year since that's where the money is. They have a stricter budget than the other three so they are meeting their goals every year, and are actually still in the competition where deeper, more expensive clubs are not.

I don't totally agree with that. Arsenal are not really in the same class as the Manchesters and Chelsea. Other than Wilshere and maybe Cazorla, does Arsenal have anybody who would start for any of the top 3 teams?

They should stop making him the fall guy and look towards the board instead. Kroenke is a total waste of space. How can the squad thrive with so much negativity coming from the fans?

He's definitely made some mistakes over the past few years but to call for his head when the club needs him the most is simply wrong.

I admire a man who sticks to his principles no matter what.

To continue from last page: I definitely rate RVP Suarez Aguero, but assuming
      Bale Walcott x x x
      RVP Sturridge x
      I am looking at
      Sissoko Hazard Silva
      Benteke/Lambert
      to fill in those blanks.

Wanting rid of michu and davies this week. Only have to get rid of one for 11 playing & I've got 2 ft. Would you do either:

    a) walcott & wilson

    Or

    b) jevans & fellani.

Should I get neither theo n fell and just improve my defence with reina/distin> jevans/DDG?

Gameweek 29...better to not have arsenal n everton for this then pile them in if it becomes a DGW? Lots of options I can't decide. Help please!

You can have one blanker during GW29 as long as your 5th mid is viable. I'm defo keeping Theo and playing Punch during the blank.

Keep Michu. Fellaini at this point is sort of a 2-match rental.

I have michu at 8.4 his current value so no loss on value + I like the flexibility to just change midfield around however. I could just do gerrard n michu to walcott n fellani this week yet gerrard is a differential on my leaders. Fellani is too. So happier to get rid of michu n hope he fails to gain ground!

Who to drop from the big five, in the end decided they all too valuable , and which ever one took out would probably be the wrong one.

Ok, just listened to the end of that Wenger press conference. I can't believe he's been said to have 'lost the plot'. As far as I can see he was just angry at silly questions and called for things to be looked at with more depth and not superficially and that he shouldn't be accused of not taking the FA cup seriously as he has won it 4 times...while slyly adding the remark 'who has won it more? name one person' knowing full well the reporter wouldn't be cheeky enough to reply Ferguson but also pointing out that next to the most successful manager in the history of football has only won it one more time than him.

Anyway, I thought he was fairly diginified...when you consider the idiots who call themselves managers but barely have any tactics let alone a philosophy about football, I think Wenger looks great in comparison. Here's hoping he proves the doubters wrong and Cazorla scores the winner tonight! 😀

alright lads thanks for the replies above. realized that i need to spell things out a bit more for you to be able to give me an informed decision

    current squad:

    bego bunn
    enrique dawson cueller davies clyne
    mata bale walcott sissoko marv
    rvp suarez sturrige

if i decide on getting aguero (which i'm leaning towards) then it leaves me two options:

    a) studge + marv. means i do suarez > aguero this week and have to play marv. then marv becomes bench fodder until i have the chance to downgrade a defender. perhaps davies to wilson/harte and then upgrade marv to maloney
    b) lambert + punch/maloney. means i do suarez + marv > lambert + punch/maloney (-4) this week and then do sturridge to aguero next week

the last alternative is to decide against aguero and go with sturridge + lambert which leaves me two options
    c) suarez + marv > lambert + lamps (-4)
    d) suarez + marv > lambert + afro (-4)
or i could get any other mid 8.6 or less

Phew. All of this Wenger talk was a nice distraction from the fact that I am rolling out Pienaar and Ba as my fifth and sixth attackers this gw. Am hoping to do a mini-WC over the next two gws and go from
    Bale Gerrard Michu Pienaar Silva
    RVP Sturridge Ba
    to
    Bale Walcott Hazard Sissoko Silva
    RVP Sturridge Benteke/Lambert

Am using my FT on Gerrard to get Walcott back in after the one week rental, so for a -4 hit, would you want Sissoko, Benteke, or Lambert starting this gw27?

Calculated one way, on Aguero doing well. Not calculated the other way, Suarez doing well. He is averaging over 7 ppg since Sturridge arrived. That is an awesome average. This is a classic example of fixtures over form. The fixtures look diffidently to me, Suarez vs Wigan (slow moving cb's that wont know whether to mark tight or stand off him, if they play 3 at the back still, there may be a free man a lot of the time aswell) Suarez vs Tottenham, a game liverpool have to win, up against the likes of Dawson, Gallas and Vertogen. The first two again a little old to cope with Suarez's movement and nutmegging.

Just caught up on the Wenger talk above. My 2 cents - the man has done wonders for Arsenal since arriving, but in my opinion, his decisions have been getting worse, and his standards have dropped. As a team, we've been getting worse every season for years.

No question, his hands are tied by the Board, but you don't need to spend £50m per season to get success. Man United have averaged a net transfer spend of £12m per season over the last 10 years, and they have ALWAYS been right up there. Hats off to Fergie. In contrast, Arsenal have averaged a net transfer spend of minus £2m(!!), and consistently sell their best players to rival teams. Hardly gives the right message for other players to join us and for our best players to stay.

Conclusion - the Arsenal Board are the root of the problem, but Wenger has also been disappointing. For all the talk of a tight wage structure and transfer policies, lets not forget Wenger is the 4th or 5th highest paid manager in the world - not a bad deal given he's won nothing for 8 years.

But lots of teams have won nothing for 8 years, remember. I'm a Sunderland fan and apart from the Championship, I wouldn't know what silverware was if he hit me over the head with it. The fact of the matter is, Arsenal are a big club...eager for success. There has been much disappointment because big money spenders like Chelsea and City have taken over and won Fa cups, league cups, champions leagues, premier leagues all in those 8 years since.

And in between all that is the relentless success of Fergie and the giant that is Manchester United FC.

As much as you can criticise Wenger, the fact of the matter is he pretty much Arsenal's most successful manager ever. What he has brought is a philosophy of attacking footbal and a style that has been admired all over the world with players who have left lasting memories and players that have arrived and are building on that strong reputation for flair and class. Not to mention youngsters coming through who are showing some great potential.

As a neutral in all this, I thoroughly enjoy watching Arsenal play football and respect Wenger a great deal. He's the type of manager that most clubs would kill to have snapped up back in the day. Luckily for Arsenal they got him and he's been an enormous success...but he's been loyal too and that is rare in this day and age. He's believed in the philosophy he's built and stuck to it, yes he's a bit stubborn but so is Fergie, so is Mourinho. It's a sign of a great manager really.

Anyway, I hope Arsenal get a win against Bayern tonight!

I agree with most of that. Thing is, Arsenal fans expect more than scrambling for 4th every season. Under Wenger we used to challenge every season and even managed to put out a team of invincibles. In recent years Wenger has made some awful transfers (Santos, Gervinho etc) and doesn't seem to be getting the best out of all these young players with promise (Ramsey, Ox etc). He's also missing experience and leaders from his team, and it's his job to make sure the mix is right.

He's an Arsenal legend, and always will be. I just think for us to have any chance of returning to the successful days we need to make a change, at Board and Management level. Otherwise we will continue to be a selling club grinding (or at least trying to grind) out 4th place every season.

As for tonight, I fear for our chances, but will be cheering us on as always!!

If Wenger had a choice I think he'd very much like to have kept your best players and not be a selling club in spirit but it's no surprise most of them have gone to City or Chelsea = 'the new rich'. Massive wages and massive glory.

I sympathise with Arsenal fans in that it must be difficult to swallow all this underachievement but at the same time it's seen as underachieving because of the outrageously high standard Wenger set himself in his most successful years. You have to remember that while it's disappointing that Arsenal are fighting for fourth...the contrast for that is the glory days that Wenger brought to the club in his FIRST 8 years. So I think a bit of perspective is needed from fans. But as I said, it's hard to be completely rational about something like this when you're emotionally invested in a club's success/failure. I'm just afraid the media are trying to drive Wenger out of a job and I think he deserves more respect for what he's done in the past rather than summing it up as 8 years of nothingness.

I completely agree. It's the Board that is the main problem - allowing players to run their contracts into the last 6 months and then be forced to sell as they won't give the bumper contracts to top stars is not how a winning club should be run. Also, a lack of reinvestment of transfer receipts is very evident.

That said, of the money Wenger has had, he's not used it well in recent years imo. Easy to cherry pick data I know, but using the RVP and Fabregas money to get Santos, Gervinho, Giroud, Ox, Park, Mertesacker and Squilacci isn't great.

As for massive wages, there aren't many bigger than Wenger's...

Well there's no doubt when it comes to the record books Arsenal's best days were pre-2005 but that's where I find it difficult to buy that it's Wenger failing everyone when he's been getting them to the champions league each year and finishing behind the new rich that is moneybags City and Chelski. The success those clubs have bought has been insane. I don't think the same can be said about Wenger...who built some great teams without spending horrendous amounts of cash and achieved things most managers would dream of achieving at one club.

You don't need zillions upon zillions of pounds to build a good team.

Spurs, Everton and Swansea are prime examples.

Like Jinswick pointed out, Wenger has bought very badly in recent years.
Good coaching and tactics can make up for lack of spending power and Wenger seems to have faded in that area.

I admire his past acheivements but sadly, he's no longer up there with the best.

'his decisions have been getting worse, and his standards have dropped. As a team, we’ve been getting worse every season for years'.

Not really, more that Arsenal's rivals have become so much better because they have had huge cash injections. When you look at it realistically, Arsenal can't really be expected to compete with City, Chelsea and United. They can realistically expect to get as close to those three as possible, and this is what they have done since the league was shaken up with Chelsea and City money.

In terms of 'selling' their best players, well, the truth is that Wenger didn't want to, of course he would have liked to keep them, but when they express a desire to leave, what can you do? Fabs was always going to go to Barcelona, in the same way that Ronaldo was to Real. A few of the others went for money or because they wanted to join a better team, and honestly, i bet a few of them regret it. What's the point of Song at Barca?

Wenger made some very shrewd buys in Podolski, Cazorla, Monreal, Giroud and Ox, and he's helped develop Walcott into one of England's best strikers. This, along with the talents such as Wilshire, Gibbs, Jenkinson, Ramsey, Coquelin etc, and the future is bright.

It's all relative, of course. I'm definitely not a Wenger hater, I think he's been superb for us. It's the Board that is 90% of the problem. All I'm saying is that Wenger cannot escape any blame for recent failings. We can't blame the Board for losing to Bradford and Blackburn. A big problem is we have very few winners in that team, and even less leaders.

Ya his comment in the press conference was stupid. 'Its an insult to the players, they are 11 international footballers'. The team we fielded was utter crap. If we fielded that all season we'd be lucky to finish 6th or 7th.

Q: What do you need to improve on from these last few weeks?

AW: You have heard Arteta. He sums it up well. We are champions of England in the second half, and in the first half, no. For psychological reasons. Because we fight the whole season against everybody hunting here [in press conferences] ... 'The players are not good enough, buy players and all that', but one day, you will realise that this team has fantastic qualities.

'one day, you will realise that this team has fantastic qualities'.

I genuinely believe this. Walcott is only going to get better, Carzorla is awesome, Podolski class, Gibbs and Jenkinson both getting better, and Wilshire is one of the best young midfielders in the world.

Wenger is generally good at deflecting and playing the PR game. The truth is, Walcott, Cazorla & Wilshere are the only top class players in our squad. As for the youngsters, if and when they become good, recent history suggest this is the time when we sell them, probably to our rivals.

Stay. The facts are that ARS miss out on the top players and can no longer keep their best players. Money talks in today's game.

I would not mind seen him at united if Fergie decided to step down but some of the younger players would be very worried to see him coming

How much in the bank? Can you do Suarez+Marv > Aguero+Maloney ?

only .4 in the bank and suarez > aguero takes up .2 so no i can't :(. like i said i can do davies to wilson/harte in a week or two/whenever i get a ft to upgrade marv to maloney but. or i guess i could do that now for another hit? not sure how wise that would be though...

          I would do Sturridge+Marv > Lambert+Maloney.

Then do Suarez > Aguero after Chelsea game, depending on how Aguero performs.

hmm i guess you're right. i just see studge being great value til the end of the season.

any reason why i wouldn't do suarez + marv > lambert + maloney?

I would want 1 of Aguero/Suarez with RVP.

I see Lambert as better value than Sturridge. He''s on PKs and steals the show most of the time for SOU, unless Puncheon Sh!ts on him

        Ubers...but (imo), decent enough.

        Dawson Martin Davies

        Demel, Harte.

Rafael/Evans/Zaba are the only three I even would care about bringing in from here on out.

I had a thought....you know what would be nice? FFS towers having a year end function at some spanky resort somewhere in the world(the venue must change every year of course)

We all dress up and have a couple of drinks, listen to some speeches etc. We can even sell seats at certain tables to help cover the cost.(I will pay a premium to not be seated with Forca!).

We will have fun at the DZ table(s)....Jafalad, Christina, Ryan, Acqua, SnakeJ, Jinswick, TW, Old School, LR, I suppose Unreal as well... 😕

Yeah of course. Apologies for leaving anyone out. Willis_hide can handle the finances, Rukawa and his ladyguy friends can perform a cabaret for us so it could turn out to be a very enjoyable evening.

Ronh would be the MC of course,
